Just wrapped up third Pathfinder game in five days. This is... new. And exhausting.
Also, this marks a milestone: of the three times I've attempted to play through Age of Worms (twice as a player, and now as GM), this is the farthest I've gotten. Right now, we've just wrapped up 'The Hall of Harsh Reflections.'

I've been thinking of starting a PbP for a while, set in a setting of my own creation. How much world-info do you lot think it'd be necessary but not overkill to include in any campaign info?
I've got ridiculous amounts in my head, but I don't think the familial ties between the ruling dynasty and the king two countries over is that critical to character creation.
For character creation, just the basics like geography, any racial traits that are different in your world, a brief history of different countries, and the life a typical adventurer would find themselves in before striking out on their own. The rest can be revealed as the game goes on.

And now you slander dwarves! My wife says I'm built like a dwarf for some reason, so I find this comparison even MORE offensive!!!!

What Tordek said, but you can add some of the history into each character's backstory so only they know it and can reveal it when the time is right. I've found it rather fun to give everybody their moment in the sun by feeding them unique information and letting them inform the party. It helps them get in character and adds spice to the game, not the least because it's rather like the game 'Telephone'! I don't worry about knowledge rolls in that case; this is the character's personal knowledge.
The risk is that they will totally space and forget they know this stuff when it's mentioned in game.

shakes fist actually, I like pathfinder gnomes. They look like like halflings from my own campaign setting, to an extent.

What Treppa and Tordek said. I say keep it simple at first. As a player, if I get too much info at the start of the campaign, it is hard to work with. Better to learn as one goes along.

My ear feels fuzzy and kind of numb. This means the medicine is finally starting to work. Yay.
Now to start typing up campaign info...I probably need to scan in maps too even if they are basic stuff I scribbled onto notebook paper. Or I could just take photos of them. That would take significantly less time to upload.

Morning, all. What did I miss?
Well, Tom and Rob's odyssey across south Texas on their way to visiting the word's largest boot-making factory took a turn for the bizzare when they came across rogue herd of longhorns determined to escape into Mexico. Meanwhile, Gary, Jason, and Justin were horrified to learn their old enemy, Dr. Jacobs, had returned with a plan to unleash millions of rabid skunks on the city. And, Patrick was surprised when Gregg showed up wearing......No, wait! That's my soap opera!

Okay, back to life. Has anyone used
- Campaign Cartographer
- ProFantasy
I've used CC2 extensively. I currently own CC3, but do not use it as often as I like.
Not sure what you mean by ProFantasy. That's the company that makes Campaign Cartographer. Unless you're talking about something different.
- Obsidian Portal
Nope.
- or Hero Labs?
I've recently started using this. Awesome program.

I am always joking about how noisy my office is. (I'm the only one who cares, because I'm the one who is trying to talk on the phone.) But really, now they have gone too far. There is literally a screaming baby in my office. WTF.
It seems that you have too many middle-management types in your office...

Air conditioning is good. I like air conditioning.
Took kidlet out for small celebration of the end of school, ran errands, bought a new swimsuit top to replace the one that broke (underwire snapped and tried to stab me) and now I feel the need to rest and hopefully restore the shattered remains of my ego. I hate swimsuit shopping.
