Nah - good thinking, but he had another Himself use it with a Linked Spell that cast Sacred Ascension (as Nar Fiendbond, except with half-celestial (+) Chosen of the Gods templates). Think "Manshoon" only with three originals, one of which became incarnate, died, and was brought back in a New Game + mode. :D

Alternate/additional explanations of what happened:
- time travel
- deathless (especially maximized/perfected Ascendant Councilor)
- and/or something else I forgot - look, I've got a fever, give me a break!

In Polish RPG "Crystals Of Time", there was a demigod class that got self-resurrection spell, which was cast in advance and could revive the caster within the year following the casting.

I understand. I too thought that they were a bit up there. That is one of the many reasons why they got set aside until I had more money to spend on them.

I make unorthodox everything so nothing wrong with that.
Just making you know that traditional recipes shouldn't have it.

Guess you have to go to the real place to see how it's traditionally made. As I said, it's difficult to find in Galicia a place where you can eat a good beef hamburger, as they serve mixed meat everywhere. Now beef hamburgers are becoming increasingly popular, fortunately.

I've said it before, clothes are overrated.

In Galicia we are famous for cooking for 6 people when we're going to be 2 for lunch just in case we end being 4.

There is an expression that is «the shame of the Galician» that is referred to a last piece of food that is always left in the plate. Because if we see an empty plate we will fill it again and again and again. So if you don't want more you'd rather leave something in the plate so it doesn't get magically filled.
Also the last piece in a shared dish is almost always left there both to show nobody is still hungry and in case that someone else wants it.
If there's nothing left on the plate the one serving it will probably die of a panic attack thinking there wasn't enough food and will start offering a lot of snacks to apologize for leaving someone hungry.
I always said I wouldn't be like that. But I am. I don't cook for 10 people if we are just 4, but I keep offering snacks after the meal all the time xD

Well, my recovery slowly continues -- yesterday I managed to participate in our Skull & Shackles game, where our poor shark man Trevor continued his epically horrific journey through Sumitha. Before yesterday, he'd been killed twice (brought back by Breath of Life both times), and also (I believe) knocked unconscious at least one other time. So in our very next fight, back to negative hit points he went again (pretty impressive considering my life oracle keeps Shield Other on him now), the captain dragged his bloody unconscious body out of the fight, and we started joking about how the group convinced him that his blackouts were due to him going into blood rages and slaying all the enemies, and all that blood all over him was his enemies', not his own.

So we finally met the "boss". Trevor ran up to him, fumbled, and dropped his sword at the guy's feet. As the guy ignored Trevor in favor of beating on my hapless life oracle, Trevor picked up his sword (getting hit by the AoO and causing me even more damage. Thanks, Trevor!), rolled another fumble, and this time got the dreaded "Fall Unconscious" card. He failed the DC 15 Will save and spent the entire boss fight unconscious.

Yep, Sumitha was not Trevor's finest moment.

Well, it was kind of funny -- I was playing lying down near the table, only standing up to take my turn or mark down all the damage Del was taking. On the other hand, Trevor's player didn't lie down once, while Trevor, on the other hand...

I made practises on a veterinary hospital, so I've seen some rather big prey birds. None as big as that one, but some of them were rather impressive.

We have a couple of hawks living on the walls of the Cathedral too. They were attracted by the pigeons from the city.

I just love prey birds.

My budgie was a tiny prey bird too. Her prey was my dog's tail. They liked to play a game: my dog faked to be asleep to lure her, so she'd get close to him and try to pick one hair from his tail. He'd jump towards her like he was going to attack her just to scare her away. She'd fly away and get back when he faked sleeping again. The deal was that the dog had to avoid being pulled from the tail and the budgie had to claim a hair as a trophy. They both enjoyed.

NobodysHome’s Life of a Chaperone, Part VII: No Rest for the Weary

Friday afternoon epitomized the problems of being a solo satellite driver: After leaving Crenshaw, we were headed for Dockweiler Beach, which is a huge area. I had an address and I had Google Maps to get me to that address, but I missed a series of texts from Ms. S giving directions as to where to stop. It was particularly irritating because different map programs put the address in different locations: I used Google Maps and ended up in one parking lot, while the other satellite drivers used a different program (I want to say Bing but I'm not sure) and ended up in a different parking lot. The buses had Ms. S's directions and ended up in yet another different place. So yeah, all kinds of confusion.

Even worse, on the way back I decided to let the students read the chaperone texts for me so I'd stay informed, and Ms. S sent out a somewhat-sensitive text that incensed one of the students, so I had to stop them from reading any more texts. Thus, even a hands-free text reader wouldn't have helped, as the student would have overheard anyway. It just sucks to be the solo driver.
What particularly amuses me about that incident is that a couple of years ago one of the other chaperones and I were using the chaperone channel to discuss selling the kids for drug money, and we got chastised because one of the kids was reading all the texts. So we had already experienced the, "Don't send sensitive information via the text channel," but Ms. S's text was really more of a comment that just happened to be read by exactly the wrong person.

Finally, before we get started, as I noted in the last write-up, my entire fare for the day had been a banana, a strawberry, and a cup of coffee. Due to circumstances beyond my control, that ended up being my fare for the entire day, going until around midnight. At 49 years old, let me recommend against a 22-hour day followed by a 17-hour day of near-fasting. By the end of the second day, you can really feel it.

A New Team is Born:

Friday, April 7, 2:00 pm - midnight
As we drove towards the beach, the texts flew fast and furious. I forget how long the drive was, but I seem to recall it was under an hour, yet I had 86 new texts by the time I got to the beach. As mentioned above, I was in one parking lot, but saw no sign of the buses nor the other satellite drivers. I got in touch with Ms. S and gave the buses directions to my location. Ms. S got in touch with CK (the other satellite driver) and gave her the directions. D (Z's mother) first texted me then called me, and it was particularly difficult to get her to understand the whole, "Just plug the address into Google Maps and you'll get here," instruction.

An important note at this point is that D had come along specifically to help Z if he had any emotional issues, and (as is always the case) insisted she wouldn't be a bother, but kept seeking me out to ask questions, make comments, or otherwise distract me. When I'm "on duty", I am very focused. I don't want to have a conversation while the kids are performing. That's rude. I especially don't want to have a conversation while the instructors are teaching the kids. That's behavior we're explicitly supposed to stop in the kids, so why on Earth should we be doing it? So it's not so much that D's behavior was disruptive overall; it's just that it was very irritating to me because I was very very focused on doing my job, and she wanted to socialize with me, make commentary, and otherwise act like a normal sociable adult, ignoring the fact that other people were talking/instructing/singing at the time. And she was definitely not a "do nothing" parent -- when John started quietly crying at Crenshaw (John is another of the transgender students in my group who also has depression issues), she was the first adult to notice and alerted me. We sent Impus Major that way, because Impus Major is an amazing, caring, wonderful kid who attracts such individuals like moths to a single, indominable flame. Fortunately, our kids were already on it. Very quietly, very subtly, fellow choir members surrounded John, giving him hugs and support.

Have I mentioned how much I love our kids?

Anyway, for me the beach was relatively uneventful: The kids changed into "beach clothes", spread out, and played. Baseball, frisbee, "Dig a giant pit that could bury NobodysHome and his car", wading, whatever. I noticed Alexia back in her blue bikini, but didn't really note it at the time. The chaperones spread out and kept an eye on everyone. I circled the perimeter. We put out a small amount of food for the vegetarians who, unsurprisingly, had not had much to dine on at Crenshaw. (I think their total available fare there was macaroni salad and chips.) Again, I neglected to eat. There were more tears from other students -- maybe I'm paying more attention now that I'm an adult, but it sure seems like we have a lot more emotional issues resulting in tears on our trips these days. Z had very mild meltdown, but D was there for him. I made sure every crying student had a friend headed their way. (One of those weird things about being a chaperone: You see a kid in emotional distress, and the LAST thing they want is for an adult male to approach them. So I have become adept at sending other kids their way.)

We headed back for the hotel, and again the texts flew fast and furious. I started having ma girlz read them aloud to me so I didn't miss anything. Then came the fateful text: Ms. S had sent something along the lines of, "Did you see Alexia in her bikini again, after I specifically said, 'No swimwear at the beach?'"
It didn't seem particularly mean-spirited or out-of-line to me; just an amused aside about how much Alexia seemed to enjoy the attention she got by being in her bikini. (And honestly, not surprising for a 15-year-old girl.) Unfortunately, Alexia read the text and went absolutely ballistic. She hadn't heard the rule. It wasn't printed on the rules sheet Ms. S had handed out. And why was Ms. S singling her out for humiliation anyway? First she'd been publicly 'humiliated' (her word, not mine) in the hotel by being told to put a shirt on, and now she was being secretly shamed in front of all the chaperones!

It was really an over-the-top performance, and of course all the other girls in the van, plus Joey, all encouraged her. So I calmed things as I could, took the phone away from them, and we rode in seething silence for a few minutes. Then, inspiration hit me.

"Did you guys know that I nicknamed all my groups? 'Team Awesome Soda' and 'Team Steve's Amazone (and some other guys)'? Well, I think you guys need a nickname. So from now on, you're all, 'Team Put a Shirt On'!"

Aaaaand off to the races we went. The girlz LOVED the idea! We talked about having T-shirts made, but Alexia wouldn't get a shirt, she'd have a custom bikini with 'Put Your Shirt On' across the left boob (again, not my words, and not my idea; I'm just a reporter here). We had an awesome, hilarious ride all the way back to the hotel, with Team Put Your Shirt On planning all kinds of wonderful, horrible things. Fortunately, I knew they were all 15, so I wasn't particularly concerned with any of their 'plans' coming to fruition.
There was some other discussion as to what represensible creatures teenage boys were, but all in all, it was an awesome bonding experience, and I hope I defused all the hard feelings that had surfaced.

Once I was back at the hotel a bit ahead of the buses, CT texted to request that I go to Costco without her; she said it was to save me time. I suspect she also wanted the rest, but I didn't say anything. So I booted the girls out of the van, notified CK that they were safely delivered, and off to Costco for another run.

It would have been an utterly unremarkable trip if not for the fact that I was under a fairly strict time limit (90 minutes before we headed out to see an opera put on by Long Beach State), it was 15 minutes each way, and I got stuck behind one of those guys in line. You know the ones. They have one or two items. They seem completely competent. And then the moment check-out time comes they explode into a sea of indecision ("Do you want to upgrade to an executive membership?"), stupidity ("Do I pick this up from the same place I always have? I do? So it's that window right there? And I just walk up with this? Oh, can you point it out again?"), and socialization ("Now that we're 3/4 of the way through the transaction, do you want to see pictures of my grandkids?") and take 15 minutes instead of 1.

"Aggravating" doesn't even begin to describe my frustration.

So back to the hotel just in time to drop off the groceries and get ready to head to the opera. At that point, I knew I was spent, and asked Ms. S about the possibility of my not driving, as parking might be an issue. After a few minutes, we decided I needed to drive, so off with ma girlz I went again.

In a miracle of modern convenience, I got there without getting lost once, handed off the girlz to Ms.S to get into the opera, found short-term parking less than 2 blocks away, and managed to get in before curtain time.
So... I remember the opera. I remember all the characters, and the plot, and everything. I just can't remember the name for the life of me. It was in French, which was amusing because I could understand some of it, and the subtitles shown over the stage didn't do it any justice. I could also tell that some of the players had really, really, really atrocious accents. During intermission I tracked down Pearl (ma girl who was fluent in French) and asked her whether she was understanding any of it. Her face exploded into an enormous smile as she beamed, "Every single word!"
SHE was obviously enjoying the show.

After the show it was back to the hotel, tell the kids to get to bed, and hold our chaperone meeting. And perhaps that was our failing. 106 kids, back from an exciting day of dancing and beach-going, then forced to sit still listening to opera for 2 hours, then dropped alone into their hotel rooms.

The 8th floor exploded into chaos while we were meeting. By the time we were doing our rounds, not only had the hotel manager stopped by, but the hotel security guard had been assigned to the floor to try to keep things down. My kids were a particularly entertaining variety of "bad": One room was discussing at great length such philosophical concepts as, "Which was worse: The Great Depression or the Bolshevik revolution?", or, "Who would you go back in time and remove: McCarthy or Kruschev?"
So really, really deep stuff. Being discussed at really, really loud volumes.

The "Cole" room was as bad as expected: They'd set up a set of 10 party cups bowling-pin style, filled them with various noxious (non-alcoholic, thank goodness) compounds, and were throwing ping-pong balls. My guess is that whichever cup the ball went into you had to drink or some such (or more likely you got to make another guy drink), but we had to put an end to that.
My third room was just guys talking loudly.

But apologies to the hotel manager and the security guard, one more round of threats to the kids, and we were finally ready to get to bed around midnight.

The original Trine was quite good, if a bit short. And it's only 3 player.

The four of us enjoyed the Champions of Norrath series, but I'll admit, it's definitely not for everyone.

Otherwise I don't think we found one that all four of us played long-term together... lots of bits and pieces, but no "we can do this together for 40-50 hours" games...

If it's available for those platforms, Civilization is a good multiplayer turn-based game.
