It's definitely still around, dood. As are the roms. I will not link them for fear of what the mods will do to my kneecaps. But yeah, they're still there.
If not MAME, check out WINKAWAKS, which is good primarily for 90's japanese/Capcom/SNK games.
I know Winkawaks. It's definitely a great tool.

The other day I was in Walmart and found a two-disc blu ray set of Ghostrider (extended cut) and Hellboy (direftors cut) for $10. Not too shabby. And that replaces two of the DVDs on my list.
While I found the Ghostrider movie to be very cheesy, it was still enjoyable. GR has been one of my favorite supernatural heroes for a long time. I started with the second version, Danny Ketch.

I have always had a weird relationship with Ghost Rider. I loved Phantom Rider as a kid, I loved his non-super powers. Ghost Rider was cool, but I didn't like choppers, preferring japanese bikes(rice burners/crotch rockets/whatever insulting euphemism is being used nowadays). I really got into Ghost Rider when it was both Ghost Riders taking on a rogue angel, and they showed all of the Ghost Riders throughout the ages/realities, which was fascinating. I find the new Ghost Rider, which has a very Christine/Durarara/latino urban aspect to be VERY interesting.

Yeah, I like the new one so far. Very interesting. Not sure about the skull looking helmet, but I'm hoping they'll crack it open one day to reveal the real skull underneath. And I love the switch to a car.

A couple of drunk guys in my lobby last night were going on and on about how much they loved the air freshener in the public bathroom. They wanted me to tell them what it was. How would I know? I'm not responsible for ordering or installing it, and frankly I try not to smell when I'm in a bathroom. But I told them I would ask the maintenance guy if he came by (he doesn't work on Sunday, but usually comes by for a cup of coffee and see if there is anything important needing done). He was surprised by the question but went and checked it. Turns out, it's cookie dough scented. Weird.

I really like Ron Perlman as Hellboy, he's just the right kind of scenery chewer for that sort of character, and I loved both the movies. If there's any comic I go to any extremes to start getting into, it'll probably be Hellboy. All that paranormal investigator, Cthulhu-esque in modern society, weird occult stuff that it's built around is right up my alley.

hi everyone,
we are back home from our 4 day weekend with friends in the Rhön Mountains
we had a great house and a very good time
the 3 young girls where totally smitten by Marlon and he loved it
Marlon has learned to really hold stuff, like his favorite, a plush duckling which he now holds and cuddles in his arm

Fun fact! The half off frappuccinos made during Starbucks Happy Hour are seasoned with the tears of baristas!
Meh. Most coffees are spiced with barista tears. Brewing coffee for the masses can be sad work. Especially when you have to get up before everybody else to brew the bean water.

Just finished my philosophy assignment for my Coursera Course: On Strategy: What Managers can learn from Great Philosophers. Who needs sleep anyway (Yawn)
It was an interesting assignment We had to identify 4 philosophers or scientist and connect them to one or two of 6 Giants in philosophy, Plato, Aristotle, Descartes, Leibniz, Newton and Russell.
I drew a path from Plato to Augustine to Blaise Pascal and John Stuart Mill to John von Neumann. von Neumann created the minimax theorem which lead to game theory which led to one of my favorite thought experiments, the Prisoner's Dilemma
Now its time to get a few minutes of sleep.

Bluuuuuuuuuuuuuh. So that weekend turned out to be not near as productive as I'd hoped. Still, I got one of the sections on my project finally completed and am now 100% certain I can finish the rest before the deadline next Sunday, despite the delays caused by surprise-mandatory-overtime and sudden infections over the past couple of weeks preventing me from getting things done in a more timely manner.
Thankfully (in a bizarre sense of the word) tonight is Runelords night, which means I'm not really going to have time to devote to more working on Raging Swan stuff; so instead I should be able to get the belated PbP posts needing doing done before game time. I don't think I'll be expected to put in overtime tonight.

Good morning FAWTLY FOLK! HAPPY MONDAY!!!!
Supposed to be another beautiful day of sunshine here in Houston. Fitting, I suppose. Hopefully, this work week won't be nearly as hectic as the last few. Now that our big module package is out for bid, I'm hoping people will be a little less douchey, if only for today.

Last night I watched Oz the Great and Powerful with James Franco. Really good movie. The special effects were very well done. The China Girl character looked almost real, instead of CGI.
Makes me think back to the early days of computer graphics in film (Last Starfighter, Tron), and I'm amazed at how far things have come.

Yeah, Perlman was awesome in that role, as he is in so many things. A truly underrated actor.
And while I've never been a collector of Hellboy comics, what little I know makes me think I'd have loved every one of them.

Can we get Ghost Rider on an unicycle? Or how about a velocipede?
