You are desrined for Amanda Conners level greatness.

Woman could practically fit in my pocket.

FHDM said nothing about them being good authors.

Also, while Andrzej Sapkowski (author of Witcher book series) isn't tall, the second Polish most popular fantasy writer of 90s/early 2000s, Feliks Kres, was quite tall as are a few other popular Polish fantasy writers.

I feel slightly better.

According to Google, George R. R. Martin is 5'6". I'm not sure how I feel about Google having that as one of it's auto-pop-up answer things.

probably because people keep running into dudes that look like him.

If rumor is to be believed, he lives or hangs out in park slope in Brooklyn, doing regular bar crawls. Lots of famous people, writers especially, are coming back to the (overpriced hipster filled) neighborhood.

I should take an advantage of two days of free time and write something...

Also, bank holiday on Monday? I wonder what it is.

I prescribe regular intervals of drinking, with at least once weekly supplements of bacon, BonChon chicken, and bubble tea (although not necessarily all at the same meal).

Parents got back from carboot. Father immediately started showing off his new toy: he bought a used Momo9 7 inch tablet for 15 pounds. Working. Nice one.

I assume a 'carboot' is a British term for what teh Zombeh is participating in today, a yardsale.

Ah the joys of a consumer culture. If you are willing to buy used you can find fantastic deals. I just bought about 20 music CDs for $5 earlier

Thanks for the flashback man.

I still remember people going apescat over first their appearance, then the disappearance of the male daughters.

Ah, homework, why must you ruin Saturday?

Can't wait until I'm done with this, and have my own classroom. Job market is excellent for teachers here, especially math & science. Just need to get DONE.

I really, really miss being in the classroom. Student teaching was amazingly reaffirming.

Scarab Sages

Good afternoon FAWTLY Folk! Happy Saturday! I was up bright and early this morning, out the house and over to the rental by 0700. My brother and I raised the garage door to start the sale, and 5 minutes later I had made $20 on an IKEA shelf.

We finally closed up shop (so to speak) around 100. Some of the leftover stuff was then brought over to the Purple Heart truck for donation. All told, I made around $81. Not bad.

Scarab Sages

Then we picked up some Popeye's for lunch. Now I'm sitting around a bit before going to run some more errands.

Some of the stuff I have left over is 2 small boxes of DVDs and a few CDs. The plan is to take them to Half-Priced Books. I may not get much, but I'll get something. I may just do that today, since the Half-Priced is right next to my FLGS. Then I could hit that place for free comic book day.

Scarab Sages

I want to go to the grocery store some time today anyway....

Silver Crusade

Weather 80 and sunny, time for some bbq and brews

Silver Crusade

On the menu today, chili, lime cilantro chicken thighs and legs with some modelo especial.

Silver Crusade

Time to get celebrating Cinco with the drinkos.

Silver Crusade

Anybody ever seen the movie "Warm Bodies"

Sitting down enjoying not-qutie bubble tea in Chinatown after going to the arcade with a guy I met at the Sakura Matsuri who was dead set on reconnecting me with the place. it's not the same arcade it used to be, but it's still a hub of stand-up arcade machine geekery with a side of gus selling you yugioh cards outside.

Silver Crusade

I enjoy john malkovich as much as the next guy, but this....yikes

I wish there were still arcades out here that didn't involve old dudes in trenchcoats

Are you sure those aren't just old gamers? Because we're...aging, man.

Silver Crusade

[reminiscing] I do wish it was so...I do miss the days of going into a dark arcade and getting high score on gravitar(365,400) or something around there[/reminiscing]

With better and better computers I don't miss arcades as places. Too much people. If only all of those old games were available on PC, though...

Is MAME still a thing?

SPAAAAAAAAM

It's still better than most of the actual OTD threads...and the rules threads...and any thread involving the word alignment...

I enjoyed it. It's not the greatest movie, and it's got one of those "power of love" resolutions (spoilers!), but it had its moments.

There is some sort of gaming miniconvention in Norwich now but I woke quite late and with a headache so I am not going to it... Less than three hours left and I would need about 30 minutes to get there not counting time for taking a shower, drying hair and dressing. Who does miniconvention from 10:00 to 16:00?! :(

That's why it's called a miniconvention, silly!

[reminisces]Yeah...it still is...[/reminisces]

heh

What alignment are the spam threads, or are they a liberonservative (or conserberal) plot?

Fnord.

Microconventions run from 2:30 PM to 3:12 PM.

Rawr! wrote:

I am not sure if there is still support for it. Or wide enough access to roms for it. Not to mention legal problems with sharing/downloading images of roms.

I started playing Heroes Of Might & Magic 4 yesterday evening. When I get time to go to library and download* 4.2 GB of Hereoes Might & Magic 5 complete bundle I will start playing the fifth part again.

* from GOG.com... Stupid sales eating my money. Thankfully I have no way of putting more money in PayPal account here, except getting paid for rpg designs.

What self-respecting gamer gets up at 8 in the morning?! And how he has any semblance of functionality before noon?!

Son of babaji, called jibaba strikes again...

I am suspecting that the Final Solution to Spammer problem would be nuking this damn planet from the orbit.

The conventions I go to with a heavy gaming track start at 8 or 9 in the morning. I've run a few PFS scenarios at that time, and, yeah, I had to increase my caffeine intake to function.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

It's definitely still around, dood. As are the roms. I will not link them for fear of what the mods will do to my kneecaps. But yeah, they're still there.

If not MAME, check out WINKAWAKS, which is good primarily for 90's japanese/Capcom/SNK games.

Happy Star Trek Day!

Or is it Last Starfighter Day?

God I loved the Last Starfighter.

And a happy Non-Whedon Day to all!
