March goes in like a lion... and will fight to it's last breath before it loses to a !@#$ lamb.

Scarab Sages

Charlie is very happy that his mommy is home.

Scarab Sages

Daddy is very happy that the first name Charlie called when he woke up this morning was "Mommy".

You fool! It starts with one piece, but then the next thing you know they're eating the lions share while you stare on in bacon-less despair.

Hey now! Don't knock the lamb. It's very tasty.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA........that's so funny. Clearly you don't know me.

Scarab Sages

The only way my kid could stop me from eating most of the bacon is to lick it all. And I'm not even sure that would stop me....

Scarab Sages

My love of bacon is LEGEN.....wait for it.......DARY!!!

Scarab Sages

Still, all this talk of bacon cheeseburgers is making me hungry again.

Liberty's Edge

Licking works. Trust me. Even imaginary licking. Don't ask. I am simply very wise like that.

Scarab Sages

I find it disturbing that my iPhone wanted to autocorrect the word "still" to the word "stool".

Unless he's already gotten me sick. Which he has. Then all fear of contamination goes away.

Scarab Sages

Anyway folks. Time to go hang with the boy while mommy gets her shower.

Later.

What a lovely day it's turning out to be! ** spoiler omitted **

I hope the rest of you are having a wonderful Friday too!

Congrats on the good diagnosis!
Thank you. I've been very, very lucky. (I mean, getting a cancer diagnosis sucks, but compared to how bad this COULD have been, I'm fortunate beyond belief that the treatment and recovery has been as relatively simple as it has.)

*gasp* you practice unsolicited southern style? Regimented northern style is clearly superior!!!

In other good news, my bonus is going to be double what I was expecting. That means I can make that trip to visit my mother AND put tires on my car. Huzzah!

Well this day just keeps getting better. I got a voicemail from the company I interviewed for and they are making an offer.

The offer is about $5k less than I was shooting for, so I may have to bone up on salary negotiation techniques, but in any event... awesome!

Woooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

rubs up against ch for luck
Lord knows I could use some....

A little lower...

keeps rubbing ch

Where do you keep your luck? I'm still getting stuck with rotten eggs here! I'm gonna keep rubbing until I get lucky dammit!!

Winter innocent? You obviously don't know her like I do.

Also, my apartment smells deliciously like fresh-baked sourdough bread. Probably because I just took a loaf out of the oven.

I need to decide whether to rebuild my wizard as a witch after this one-shot. Witches don't get as many familiar options though, which is rather odd, considering they're more built around a familiar than a wizard...

I'm trying out the Witch class for the first time myself, I like the feel of it so far, but find some of the design choices a bit perplexing.

Oh, witches are fun. Learned the hard way about how nasty their hexes can be my first time as a DM.

I'm mostly having difficulty with prepared casting. The character I've played the longest so far is an oracle, and I needed a few prods to remember to set a daily list.

Vancian casting just doesn't click with my brain. I from a balance perspective understand that it is too overpowered to have this entire list and cast whatever you want from it whenever you want. I from a logical perspective can't understand why someone who has in theory dedicated his entire life to knowing how to do cool things with magic can't just decide "hold on a tick, I think I would like to fireball this chap" because he didn't think about it after breakfast.

Yet I can wrap my head around an alchemist doing the exact same thing just fine. Go figure.

Just do what I do, I make them spontaneous casters based of Charisma, it made more sense to me.

An alchemist should be a "brainy magic trick" type, Witches and other casters like that would KNOW their spells, not rely on limited grasp of magic power to conjure magic. IMO.

Well, I do normally play spont casters. Problem is, that means I always make high charisma characters - usually with healing capabilities - that 90% of the time make me both the healer and the face.

I don't dislike either role, but it does start to make one feel a bit like a one-trick pony. =)

Whole reason I decided witch or wizard was so I could dump charisma and refuse to play nice.

That sounds worse than intended.

The character is not designed to instigate PVP and discord.

I follow you, my current, the afore mentioned charisma based witch, is fairly charismatic but she tends to be a bit hard to deal with because of her "odd" behavior.

But I get the need to step away from your norm from time to time, sadly when I try to do it I get dumbfounded looks.

I know all about the misfortune hex as a GM. It is a regular staple of the witch character in my RotRL's game. Finally as we reach the end of the campaign, my bad guys can usually make the save.

The first time it had a big impact was when the party was attacked by a gargantuan turtle while exploring an underwater ship wreck. If it weren't for misfortune, it could have been a TPK. Instead, the party took the defeated turtle's shell and turned it into a hot tub at the Cleric of Cayden Cailean's bar located between Sandpoint and Magnimar.

Last night, I successfully built most of Orthos's Ael-Varan race in Hero Lab. The only thing it doesn't do automatically is increase the number of times per day a sorcerer can use his special abilities.

I had a choice, spend hours rebuilding the entire sorcerer class in order to code non core abilities or just manually increase the number on my character sheet. Prudence won out and I went with the latter choice.

Although I have to admit, it does continue to gnaw at the OCD part of me. I hate leaving something unfinished.

My daughter's first PF character was a witch, and she still plays it in the home game I run. She's gotten the hang of the hexes and has gotten quite good at using them.

My wizard's an aranea (homebrew race) who prefers to spend her time in spider form and is rather irritated she has to shapeshift to have conversations. She carries her skunk familiar as a hat.

Really, I'm mostly upset skunk's not on the witch familiar list.
