Ziti is awesome. My wife makes some really good ones.

Liberty's Edge

Racing to Ruin saw us partaking in hamburgers from the local Culver's. Good stuff!

well hamburgers I know :-)

Culver's I don't

Ziti-pasta, kinda like penne I think. Often layered and baked with cheese, sauce, and other stuff to make a lasagna-like dish.

Dirty Rice-cajun rice dish often made with chicken livers and/or gizzards.

Culvers-a fast-food restaurant chain.

True- BUT,
Today's Dirty Rice is commonly just rice and hamburger meat with 'cajun' spices & seasonings.

Zatarain's makes mean box for easy Dirty Rice. Tasty. :)

Anyone want some beer? A guest just gave me 4 bottles, but I don't drink.

So whose idea was it to turn the bicycle course for the women's triathlon into an obstacle course?

Considering the oeuvre of Will Ferrell, that'd been rather fitting, though.

Gah! Two-hour race and the Swede misses gold by less than 1/100 second...

One good thing about the burgeoning of TV stations is being able to dodge the whole nationalistic sports spectacle they feel like subjecting us to every two years. When I was a kid, the crap dominated the three stations. God I hated that. So happy I haven't watched a single event since 1980.

Good morning FAWTLY Folk! Happy Saturday. For the first weekend in a good while, my wife doesn't have to go into work. Huzzah! That means I get to get stuff done.

Sweet. My phone autocorrects for "mrgh".

Yay! Poland got two gold and one bronze while I wasn't looking. Now, what disciplines were those...

Boo, Women 50m Rifle finale had two Poles participating but neither got into the first three... 4th and 8th.

If I recall correctly, the last time I willingly watched the Olympics was about 20 years ago. The reward was BttH.

By watching I meant checking the results on olympics' website. I uninterested in watching sport events as scuh... Maybe aside for female beach volleyball.

I watch every second I can.
It dos not matter witch sport or if german athlets are involved

Likewise. If anything, sometimes I get annoyed when it's too nationalistic-centric (at least here in the U.S., the US athletes are focused on more dominantly than the other countries). I just want to watch good competition.

(What I'm watching right now:) while Serena Williams is a US tennis player, I do consider her match against Maria Sharapova to be a legitimate worthy competition to watch in Women's Tennis.

I just wish they aired more Greco-Roman / Freestyle Wrestling. I believe that begins on August 5th. I grumbled about the dearth of it four years ago.

Post...

So, TWO OZ movies next year. That's pretty cool.

I've got baked ziti waiting for me in the fridge!

Also, as long as we're beating China, that's all I care about, Pat. :-)

Which one? Marathon? Or women's triathlon?

Did any FAWLTY's see the rapid-fire pistol shooting in the Olympics, really fun.

Just like the prone rifle, won by Belarus' man with a 30 year old rifle & bullets.

I realized the only skill I developed while working at a coffee place in my youth was to spit silently and slyly. And of my coworkers I wasn't the best at it. Also I hear it's a fairly common coffee place skill, so be careful how you treat the Starbucks people :P

Women's triathlon.

And I watch as much as I can, mostly because the Olympics are pretty much my only chance to see smaller sports like Waterpolo, Field Hockey, or Amateur Boxing. And Fencing, which is an awesome sport to watch.

There doesn't have to be a Swede involved, I like watching people who are really good at something doing what they're really good at, but if there is, I will probably root for them on the basis that it's even more exciting to watch if you're emotionally involved. (If there's a Swede involved who's a douche, I'll root for someone else, picked at random, but outside football or ice hockey, Swedish sport people seem to be a nice bunch.)

Baked ziti

(Although this picture uses rigatoni, not ziti, but it's the same idea.)

Exactly, very true. Seeing someone excelling is better than any nationalism (even though I am happy GB is doing so well). Yeah I just wish I had more access to these smaller sports, since GB are doing well most TV is concentrating on them.

Yeah, the triathlon seems really interesting.

I still like the classic. This is newer version was a completely different movie that was able to stand out on its own. In its own way, it was quite good. I miss seeing Micheal Ironside getting dismembered and plunging to his death.

In his best Austrian accent: "See you at the party Rictor."
