We're registering Crookshanks for sophomore year.

Hopefully with clothes on!

My youngest is asleep in the car. (We are waiting in the daggum carliiiiiiiiiiine. Blech.) He warned me he was sleepy! (He fussed at me for not taking him home, then questioned why we had to get his brother from school, and then was asleep.)

It's how I fast track everything.

Yay! It only took two and a half hours! It's a good thing we pre-registered! Gosh knows how long it would have taken otherwise.

“‘Spy Hun’ter.’ Now there’s a name I’ve not heard in a long time. In a long time.” Stares off, contemplating.

EDIT: multiple times. After all, first I had to get a beard, and then I could add both links. :D

So, today I had a swan in my bath tub.

Long version:

We have a lot of water around here. A little lake. Lots of waterways. So a lot of waterbirds. Every year there are also two pairs of nesting swans.
MrT is especially fond of the swans, and we keep a keen eye on how they do. (MrT has helped them cross the road on occasion by stopping traffic).

So, we noticed one signet had been without parents. Its not that bad at this point as they are coming into their feathers, and are of a size they can easily forage for themselves. Still it was weird.
We noticed it was holding its leg out of the water. They sometimes do that to rest the leg, or let it warm up if the water is very cold.
But we noticed it wasnt climbing onto land. Something was definitely not right with the leg.
We could see it wasnt fishing line. That would have been bad, and warranted emediate rescue.
So we kept an eye on it. You always hope an injury heals on itself.

But yesterday I saw he still had his leg up. I couldnt catch him, so today MrT and I went out to get him.
Small complication. Mom and dad were back. He had been on his own for a while. Since he could not walk, he wasnt able to follow his parents and siblings off the lake to another body of water. But they had returned.

So we lured them with bread. Dad was pretty agressive, but because the injured swan could not get out of the water, MrT was able to lure the parents and siblings away to one side on land, while I grabbed the injured swan off the water.

Swans arent that hard to catch. You first grab them by the neck, then you pin the wings. With the wings pinned, they calm down a lot.

So I now had a swan under my arm.
We called the animal ambulance. They were away on another rescue, so I discussed with them that I would take the swan home, and they could pick him up when they could.

So we put water in the tub. Put swan in tub. He floated there for about an hour and a half, and they he was picked up.
He's now at a bird rescue. I hope he does allright.

So, I have news:

My car was located yesterday morning and is being held for crime scene work. Should be available for pickup Sunday at the earliest.

1) I had to make the call. I understand that was advised here by y'all, but really? Tiny bit surprised, I am.
2) Will have to go through the Nissan dealership "make a new key and invalidate the old one" routine. How exciting!
3) Never expected to get this good news.

Sidebar: If those two punks just wanted a joyride through Memphis, all they had to do was ask . . . . Sheez! Gotta be all rude and s&&@ . . . . *cue eyeroll*

The short version would have been fine, but now we know you’re a swan hero!

Guess to get the bird you had to go swan diving!

I think I speak for us all when I say, “Good luck, Kemoswani!”

(But, truly terrible jokes aside, I do pray for a swift recovery. Good job you two!)

Answering Freehold's earlier question of where is everyone... I was dealing with a flat tire. Instead of going to the chiropractor to fix my jacked up shoulder. Fortunately, they were able to patch it, which turns out is much cheaper than a new tire, so yay. Also AAA is awesome and I highly recommend membership to anyone with a car.

Now I'm off to play Trivial Pursuit. Yes willingly, don't @ me.

It will depend on what is wrong with his leg. But he's at the bird rescue centre now, so they are well equiped to take care of him.

"Syrup" and "Syria":

Autocorrect almost *always* chooses one of those two for my alias. It has even turned into a joke in the chatrooms of an online app I play. Of the two, I'd rather go with a sweet breakfast confection than a Middle Eastern country.

And thanks to all of you! :)

In many modern forums and chat programs such as Discord, if you type "@(person's name)" it will either send a popup, make a noise, or otherwise flag them to get their attention.

The Ersatz Russian's wife is working WozCon this weekend. She frequently gets the sought-after celebrity handler assignments, because she works hard and behaves like a professional.
And then she texts me to rub it in, because I SHOULD be working the con on her team this weekend, except I moved away.
So she texted a few moments ago that she's been escorting my girl crush around the con this evening.

So my all 18's game has had 2 games so far. Biggest difference aside from everyone making saving throws realitivly easily. That 18 con makes it virtually impossible for me to kill some one outright which is for sure an upside. crit hit first level for 24 hp but hey least your not dead.

You're welcome. I also used it tonight at a Pathfinder game. It got just the reaction I wanted: confusion, followed by a dawning understanding, then reluctant laughter and head shakes.

Went to Popeye's for some chicken. I ordered a drumstick meal. The cashier asked me "What side?" I stared at her blankly for a moment and said "Left? I didn't know there was a difference." She replied "No, sweetie. Do you want fries or something else on the side."
