Ach....

I hope the docs can do something about your peepers - or failing that, that it sorts itself out (at least partially)

Very sorry to hear that your eyes might get worse. :(

Kidlet says that Hearthfire, dragonborn, and dawn guard are all good. I wouldn't know since Skyrim makes me motion sick, but he's played enough hours of it that I figure he knows what he's talking about. :)

Self-distraction? That is... A suitable name for that.

Next Carrion Crown session is a few weeks away. GURPS is probably going to be this weekend and the next, since GM said we're at the last two sessions for this part of the campaign.

Covering all that's happened would result in a really long post by this part, but it's been one of the most fun (and intense) campaigns I've been a part of thus far. So might still be worth it.

I'm just thankful I wasn't driving at the time :-)

Edit: Ninja'd! Darn it you red dragons just pounce out from everywhere :-)

Apprentice electrician. Not a big fan of the work, but the company is pretty laid back and the pay is decent.

That is a place I want to go. I've been to Hamburg on business and visited friends in Duisburg while I was in-country, and they took me to Koln.

Crazy short work week ("Oh hey, you're going on vacation? Can you fix this thing that's been ignored for six months before you go?") is almost done.

Then I can start packing for GenCon!

Keep your eyes on the Mythopoeic Rambling blog for a new monster on Friday.

Compressed work week, Gencon and a new monster, someone's a busy badger (I didn't realize how fun that was to write until I wrote it:-p)

Have fun at Gencon :-)

I know, man, I know, but I need to go back to reality. At least for a little while.

I got something to help with that

For instance, Tom Cruise, never met the guy!

And...we're back!

Reality? What does that word mean?

OK, this is just priceless: Years (maybe even decades) ago, I developed high cholesterol. As part of the "treatment", I started forcing myself to have a glass of red wine every night without fail. While you all know the dark side of the story, the bright side is that my cholesterol's been stable for 14 years now.

So of course I stop drinking for 2 months, get my bloodwork done, and my cholesterol has shot through the roof. (Read: Triglycerides more than doubled in the last year with no other major changes in my life.)

Stupid alcohol-cholesterol connection! I thought someone disproved that one!

EDIT: And don't worry. I'm still SOOOOOOO not ready to start drinking again, and I know it. I'll just have to increase the "other" drugs. Feh.

I wonder if that's why my dad started jamming on the box wine after he turned 50...

In other news, according to my boss, I have a bit of a Southern accent due to my 10 months living in Georgia 6 years ago. I blame you fully, Sharoth.

Nah, we old farts figure out any excuse.

"My gout is acting up today..."
"My, but it's a bit nippy this morning!"
"I take it for medicinal purposes."
"You'd drink too if you had MY boss..."
"Ah, heck with it! I'm drinking to get drunk, stupid!"

Just gout!

I'm lucky working in construction i get to use the full pantry of excuses "My knee hurts!" "i got arthritis today!" "my foot hurts" "ah, jeez the back really hurts today!" drops pants "does this look swollen?"

Of course all those are just for getting out of walking the dog, i really have to ramp it up for getting out of the big stuff:-)

I too am sorry to hear about this, Yuugasa. Best wishes that they are able to find a treatment.

I enjoyed Dragonborn quite a bit, especially if you get into the black book stuff. I did it as a Mage, which was a good combo.

So the hand specialist said my hand is still messed up because I've been favoring it so much. The ultrasound showed a foreign object as well though, probably glass, smaller than a grain of sand.

I get to do some intensive physical therapy. That may be all that is needed, but if it doesn't improve he may have to do something more invasive.

put that hand in the corner, and let the other one have more pudding and other treats. Be mean!

Sorry to hear about your eye Yuugasa. Here's hoping for the best.

Also: Just ran the Ummayads out of Aquitaine - let's hope it sticks for a decade or so until I get a competent king. (According to Crusader Kings II, Charlemange getting killed after just a year or two on the throne would've been real bad for the Frankish kingdoms.

I agree Paula Abdul and Lady Gaga weren't the best idea... wait! Are we talking about the same playlist?

Wrong playlist, but I'd probably be even more fearful if I listened to Lady Gaga.

The profusion of cartoons with sentient trucks or trains or variations there of is hilarious, its like having thumbs or hands had no effect whatsoever on the ability to develop advanced societies :-)

Sorry my bad! They asked me "how do we evolve teeth!" All I said was "you know who's already got teeth..."

In hindsight I shouldn't have trailed off, because let me tell you, s%$% got dark, fast!

Even for me it was... excessive.

I've never been back there

Also I shattered a plate Monday, I did an incredibly thorough job cleaning it up, and have spent the last two days finding every little stray piece I missed, with my foot:-(

Naturally every piece I've found in such a manner is long and one even broke off, forcing myself to go digging for it.

It hasn't been fun:-( but what are you gonna do, better my feet then the kids, also I tore a toe nail off when I had the kids help me move the couch, that was actually pretty funny because it mirrored an episode of Spongebob when Squidward has Spongebob help him move his couch :-) it still hurt tho :-)

I might wanna throw away a broken plate myself, actually...
