Hour and a half left of Saturday workday. Shelf is mostly clear.

I have seven more hours of work. It's dead today. Too nice outside for people to be shopping. I should vacuum or something. Ooh, I know! It's the first Saturday of June - time to wash the coffee mug!

The Bass Concert Hall in Austin.

My dad's got way too much good music on his hard-drive.

Thanks for the commiseration, folks.

I'm getting things back on track today. Spent the morning at the DMV replacing my driver's license, stopped at the police station to file a report, and stopped by the bar to thank the manager for following up on checking their video surveillance and letting me know that they have good video of the theft happening. It sucks that this happened, but it's giving me so much reason to be grateful for good friends and local business proprietors who do right by their customers.

Damnit.

I'm feeling better today, finally.

Considering we have no insurance nor money for medical bills, that's a big relief.

It's amazing how the body goes about healing itself. Fascinating.

Yooohoooooooooooooooooo

Dammit. I don't know how to make that funky sound they make in festivals. I think it comes out of kabuki, though.

Then tomorrow she gets to hit us with the ending of Kingmaker.

You're at the END of kingmaker? That's awesome! What's the name of your kingdom? What's your heraldry?!?!?!

That's amazing that they have video taped evidence of the crime. Where do you live again?

Tonight was a wonderful nightl out with friends... Right up to the point where I opened my purse at the last bar to pay the tab and realized my wallet had been lifted. There were already fraudulent charges on two of the cards by the time I got home and reported them stolen.

Not the way I wanted to begin my weekend.

Ugh. Sympathies

I'm just sitting here with my wife and father in law. They're a bit raw from yesterday, so I'm staying here with them in case they want to see a movie or something.

The grass has been, to use a monkey turn-of-phrase, decapitated. And my garden has been weeded, and new garden soil put down. Them purple leafy things I put down a few years ago are coming back again.

House around the corner got smashed into by a drunk driver a few nights ago. Took out the fence, an AC unit, and smashed into the garage. That's why I'm glad I don't live right on a busy street.

Like my fellow gamer dude, Carl (of Flagons and Dragons) - he actually got a car almost into his front living room. Since then he's put down big ass rocks in strategic locations on his front lawn. At present, I believe the count is Rocks -2, Cars-0.

I'm in Washington, DC, though I don't think bars having security cameras is an oddity in any large urban area these days.

I guess you have a point. I really don't go to bars unless I'm at work, and then I'm not exactly looking for cameras, so I don't see them.

MMmmm.....Dr. Pepper.

Gotta turn from my negative thoughts. It's been a couple rough weeks at work with my boss nearing her departure and me picking up the work. Then, i've been spending every weekend for a month busting my butt around the house/yard in prep for my daughter's grad party. This morning we find that my sons had the fire pit out last night and burned the heck out of the middle of the lawn by having the fire too big. They slept while I fumed and cleaned up. Probably better that I didn't drag their lazy asses out of bed to clean up.

Daughter's graduation is in a few hours. Hope I'm calmed down by then.

Speaking of which.....got my Dr. Pepper at a service station around the corner, and as I was leaving, I felt nekkid. It was weird. Took a few seconds to realize I had pulled out the station without my seat belt on.

I think I can honestly say that's the first time I've pulled off without a seat belt since 1989.

For now, home I go!

Our kingdom is named Vlast. We just absorbed the old kingdom of Pitax. Our King is König Odegar.

Rise of Galvatron. And yes it is to be Michael Bay films.

I will loathe these more than FHDM will spike down a Haterade at a Pro-Whedon rally.

I was so happy that she said exactly what I was thinking. Like any psychic is going to say, "I'm actually kind of mediocre."

"If you're so good, you should be able to read which one is likely going to take the bait.

But that's why you're on the streets..."

Here's your sign.

Oh come now, give the movies a chance! I did with the Avengers.

Transformers 3 was such an incredibly stupid movie, I didn't even bother to ask the people who were loudly discussing the movie (even expressing their surprise(really?!!!) at the "twists") to be quiet.

I still haven't seen it. Not in any rush.

There were only one or two really good ideas in it.

The Exchange

Yet most think it was the best movie in years, go figure.

I haven't seen any of the transformers movies.

Play was good, not my thing, but well done. The projected backgrounds and optical tricks they employed with them were very pleasing.

Now that is pretty cool. I used to have one but it was taken as evidence in that whole sex slave trafficking scandal a few years back... what, the charges were dropped. :P

The first movie was quite good, the second was awful, the third was meh.

The drive to Rochester was uneventful. The LI ferry ride was a bit rough but nothing too bad. No traffic. My weekend is pretty full of visits and I am looking forward to most of them.

My dislike for the first one is probably my fault. I bought it having never seen it and thought to sit down with my kids and relive my childhood with them.... wrong. :/

Shouldn't you be playing with your wife Moorlluck? ~grins and runs~

On the train back to Sydney, Mrs 8D is very happy she won some prizes for the cards she made at the craft convention. The girls are recovered from their virus or bug... I am about 80%.

I took some pictures at the War Memorial, there are some very good dioramas that were made in the 1920's they have on display.

They also have an actual Me 262, Me 109 and a Komet as well as G for George a Lancaster Bomber that flew 80 missions. As soon as I work out how to use photo bucket I will link some of the pictures I took, the lighting was not the best for pictures taken on an iPhone.
