This is an incredibly slow day in Paizoland. What's up, FAWTLies?
Summer/Christmas holiday in two days. Trying to get two weeks of work done in those two days.
Then it's Sea World, Movie World, and Santa Claus.... Sitting on the back verandah of my parents house looking at the pool. Alternatively it's floating in their pool with a Bundy and coke looking up at the verandah from the pool watching dad throw some steak and snags on the BBQ .
It's watching cricket on dads mega 3D TV and bone shattering surround sound system. Drinking beer and making fun of New Zealand.

Ah yes the wonders of the Christmas season for Retail workers. This is my 4th year not working retail over Christmas, and I still avoid stores this time of year.

We dig dig dig dig dig dig dig in our mine the whole day through
To dig dig dig dig dig dig dig is what we really like to do
It ain't no trick to get rich quick
If you dig dig dig with a shovel or a pick
In a mine! In a mine! In a mine! In a mine!
Where a million diamonds shine!
We dig dig dig dig dig dig dig from early morn till night
We dig dig dig dig dig dig dig up everything in sight
We dig up diamonds by the score
A thousand rubies, sometimes more
But we don't know what we dig 'em for
We dig dig dig a-dig dig

Aberzombie's Really Grim Fairy Tales
The Knight and the Fairy Princess
Once upon a time, the brave knight Sir Brandon was travelling through the ancient, mysterious Forest of Charms. He came upon a clearing, in the midst of which was a clear pool of water. As he bent to take a drink, from the water rose a beautiful fairy princess. So dazzling was appearance, that Sir Brandon was blinded!
Unfortunately, once blinded he stumbled and fell into the water, where the weight of his armor dragged him down to the bottom. As he struggled against drowning, the fairy princess swam down to help him. In his panic, he stabbed her with his dagger.
They both died.
The end.

I have thick naturally wavy hair. Bobby pins are insufficient to hold it in place. Insufficient to the point that they tend to be thrown out at a fairly high velocity when my hair tries to escape its confines. It's not a common problem. Happens occasionally in my family. I've only met a couple of other women with similar issues with hair pins.

I guess I'd have to see the hair to understand. I'm black, so I've not seen many hairpins go flying in my household unless someone's process was reaching the end of it's lifespan.
Yeah, it's a very different texture of hair. I was always fascinated by my cousins' hair when I was younger for just that reason, that it was so different from mine or my sisters. My middle sister has really fine straight hair, and my youngest sister has wavy hair, but coarser texture than mine, so it doesn't turn hairpins into weapons. : )

hair is weird. This is why I shave my head.

I was quite pleased with myself at work today, we had a big project meeting with the boss's boss's boss. I had to report that my team achived nothing and did not reach any of it's milestones but I was able to present it in a way that everyone agreed we did a good job :-)
