I did it! I finally jumped into the PBP GM pool. I am opening it up to you, my fellow FAWTLys first. The discussion thread can be found here if you are interested. Story info, character creation, and game rules can be found on the campaign description page.

Thanks again PMG for the awesome on-line campaign tools. (I like the new forum layout too.)

I’d like to put my hand up for a spot Tordek. Might take me a few days to come up with a character concept though, have a lot going on at the moment – is that ok?

I've managed to behave myself on that front. I only posted that I was hiding a thread once, and there was nothing to flag in said thread.

Wake up FAWTLies! It's a new day (or and old one for the overseas contingent.) Time for me to head off to work soon.

Edit: Curses - ninja'd by the rogue lord. Good morning CJ.

Needs to be an entertainer, but not a super popular one (no to Burt Reynolds and Al Pacino). Maybe Gene Hackman? Lee Majors?

Majors has been getting a little long in the tooth. Hackman is still an OK actor.

Happy belated birthday CJ. Hope it was a good one? Did you get anything you wanted for your birthday?

I missed out on a day's worth of posts. Hopefully, I didn't miss anything really important.

I'm 43 (as of September), and the latest round of news, and everything going on with my family, is really making me feel my age.

My grandmother has been put on Seroquel and placed into a nursing home. Supposedly, this is a "typical progression" for Alzheimer's.

I took the offer to work from home with my current employer. My wife and daughter are certainly thrilled about it (my son's reaction was not unexpected--"Will this affect whether I can get on the Internet?"). I made a couple of un-fun phone calls, but the guy who was going to be my boss again understood my situation, while being disappointed about me not working there.

I hope everyone else is doing well.

Morning FAWTL!!

So Jude walked up to me last night and wiggled his fingers on my arm and said "tickle, tickle". It might have been the cutest thing ever. ;)

Yikes, sorry to hear that about the grandma. Alzheimer's is rough stuff... we've lost a few family friends to it recently and watching them battle it has been heartbraking. I don't believe in just about anything, but positive attitude and optimism have an amazing effect on treatment - hang in there.

I'm 28, but I've been feeling my age too (don't laugh!). I recently found out that I have cancer again, so I'm gearing up for another round of surgery and chemo. It's pretty awesome - I'm at least 50% positive that I'll be getting super-powers this time. I'm working up a bit of a stand up routine for the hospital (that might not be a fair statement as I'll probably be laying down, so maybe it's a lay-down routine). I like to open up with jokes about the phlebotemist - School must have been interesting - who'd you go with, mosquito's? Or Ahh the life of a phlebotomist - fast cars, and even faster women.

Then the doc rolls in and he's all like "how are you feeling?"

"Sedate."

Of course, the real fun is when I'm irradiated in that special room with the different colored tape cordons indicating safe ranges for exposure. I like to shamble about the room, and jump out and scare my nurses from behind the door when they come in. Or try and give them a hug. Surprisingly - they seem to appreciate the playfulness.

I just re-read all of this - I might be a terribly annoying patient.

Thanks, it'll be all good. Mostly it's time to find ways to annoy the caregivers. (good natured of course).

+1. And it's good to see that your sense of humor at least is still working just fine. I hope this time you can get rid of the cancer for good.

Here's hoping you get better for good. The cancer can't make its fort saves forever, just keep spamming SoD chemo at it and it'll have to give in eventually.

Taig. I'm sorry to hear about grandma. Seroquel sometimes helps with Alzheimer's. I'm not sure if there are any alternatives, I'll check when I run my medication you group today.

Nathan, I'm also sorry to hear about the cancer returning. I hope this round of chemotherapy finally does it in.

I thought I had it licked last time! SoD chemo it is.

Unfortunately I think it's DC's are based off my Con!

Thanks for all the well wishing - I guess you never really stop fighting it once it's there.

Taig - there are some really cool new drugs out for Alzheimers, I'll do some digging and see what I can find - but there has been some really cool new stuff out there.
