I have a question:
I am at the moment trying to confince my girlfriend that the Seatle Area would be a great place for her first US holiday
*cough* especally around PaizoCon *cough*
From all I read it is realy beautiful up there but, well not that Iconic.
So here is my Idea/Question:
How long would a drive from Seattle to San Francisco take?
And would it be a good road trip (scenic, tourist spots, etc) ??

It is 800 miles and Google Maps says it will take about 12 hours.

Between 13 and 15 hours, depending on the route you take. I'd recommend taking the route nearest the ocean for some great sight-seeing.

According to google maps, it will be a 1300 km road trip, taking approximately 13.5 hours of straight driving.
I"m sure someone in the area can let you know about the scenery. :)

13+ hours of driving is pretty brutal. If you plan to stop for meals, sightseeing, etc. it could still easily take you two days of travel. Look at the cost of renting the car and compare it to the cost of flying - but if you want to sight see, it might be more worth the time to drive it and enjoy the country than to fly over it to get straight from one city to the next!
:)

absolutly more days, the plan would be to see as much of your country on the trip as possible
I have been to the US more than 15 years ago: LA, SanFrancisco, Tijuana, Arizona, Utah, las Vegas, Grand Canion, Yosemite and Hawaii in 23 Days (Bus Tour + Beach on Hawaii)Gruumash . |

The equivlent Seattle to San Francisco trip would be like Berlin to Monaco or Marseilles or Italy.

Although I did like the Batman/Hulk giant sized cross over.
The Joker with the powers of the shaper of worlds. What is not to love? Batman taking out the Hulk with knockout gas, only to try it a second time and find out that while the Hulk is monosyllabic, he isn't stupid. It was a fun book.
Don't try and blame me for the fiasco that was the superman/spider-man crossover though. I am fairly sure someone got fired over that.

I looked it up and it shows roughly 680.7 miles or 1095 km
Which is like driving from Berlin to Paris. Now say you wanted to take the rip Celestial Healer took recently from one side of the country to the other north east to south west which is roughly 2464 miles or 3966 km or about that trip 4 times.
Yes, I know others looked it up first, I just had to see for myself.

We can only hope.
Nah not really, but a lot of the crossover stuff is always questionable.
Also, this is my 1,000th post!

Some of it was very interesting. The Titans and X men for one. But Superman and He-man?? Superman and Amethyst: Princess of Gemworld. Which by the way I must admit I did collect, because damn it was well written and very interesting story.

Isn't that the great thing about comics, though? You never quite know what you're gonna get.

The obituary is finished.
The memorial is Friday.
I will have a new computer tomorrow.
NeonCon begin tomorrow too. I will get pictures.
But my checkbook is sobbing and I must attend to its needs.
Then I read today's assortment of comic books.
you have truly been through a lot, friend.

I had my exit interview with my current employer today (I've still got a week left at the job). Amazingly, the HR person didn't show up with only a blank pad of paper, and she actually knew who I was. Even more amazing was the fact that I got paperwork detailing everything I needed before and after I leave the company.
A couple of people have asked (with a horrified look) if I was leaving to return to Gilbarco. My response was either "hell no!" or "f*+@ no!" depending on how comfortable I was with the person asking the question. :)

I have, haven't I. I will say, today was a very productive day despite what I've been through over the last two months. I wouldn't trade today for anything.

My poor Charlie boy ain't feeling good. Goopy eyes (maybe pinkeye), and a fever. Doctor called in an eyedrop prescription for us, and we also gave him somd kid's Advil. Little dude's sleeping now.
I hope Charlie feels better soon. There is nothing worse then when they don't feel good and they don't understand why.
