That's quite a package.

This Friday, my children are going to be participating in a read-a-thon at their school to help raise money for the school. My youngest is in Kindergarten so the parents get to read to their child for the participation. Trying to figure out what to read to my 5-year-old. How about the newest book from George R. R. Martin?

I’m reading my five year old The Hobbit at the moment. He seems to be enjoying it (he was looking out his window chanting ‘moon-runes’ to himself the other night ...)

I already knew that "mindreader" was part of the job description of "Husband".

Ugh. This is in its own way the most difficult math class I've ever had. It's very light on the actual math, but lots of work on concepts, and the homework is sooooo long. Most of the mistakes I make are due to brain fatigue since I just can't keep focused for that many hours.

On the bright side I finished it early thanks to skipping chem lecture this afternoon since I needed to be at home to watch my sick kid, so I actually get an evening to chill and watch tv. :)

Sometimes you’re expected to listen and remember things too, it’s awful.

Sneaks in and leaves an apple pie for Mairkurion, then sneaks out unseen.

Catching the last three episodes of Alphas. I'll have to check into the series on DVD and catch up.

Yup. And we also got some bad news today. My mom-in-law had a meeting with her oncologist today. She's been fighting lung cancer the last year. Today they told her that if she goes back on chemo then she'll have 5 years, without it they give her only 3 more years to live. She has decided not to take the chemo and live her possible 3 years to the fullest.

Liberty's Edge

I'm very sorry to hear that Jeremy.

Long shifts suck. I'm looking at 12 hour shifts from tonight (it's about 5 pm here in Japan) until sometime next week - 6 pm until 6 am.

AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!

That sucks. Hopefully, she can have the best 3 years imaginable. Positive waves!!!

According to Cosmo-san, mine shipped on the 23rd, which means it'll get there before I'm back. Have to remember to tell the wife to expect it.

Does this make me a bad person.....?

Spoiler:
I was killing time in the Navy Exchange (big store) earlier today, and was in the book section. Noticed a turning rack filled with RPG stuff - D&D and Pathfinder. Spent a few minutes rearranging things, putting Pathfinder stuff in front of the D&D stuff.

Scarab Sages

Seems that I've started a miniblitz without even realizing I was doing so.

Scarab Sages

Went onto base today to a packing store - got a bunch of stuff packaged up into two boxes for like $14. And it only took them like 5 minutes to do it.

Scarab Sages

Of course, priorty mail back to the States (7-10 days) cost me about $75 for both boxes.

And, by the way, thanks to whoever came up with the "fawesome". It has been creeping into my mind (and conversations) like Brown Mold at an Efreet convention.

Scarab Sages

Debating taking a book with me to read to work tonight. I suspect I'll have a bit of downtime from here on out.

Scarab Sages

OK, that's enough for this miniblitz. Gotta check some other stuff, then get into my email. Sayonara.

Group effort. I misspelled 'awsome', it was joked about and then someone added the F.

A word was born!

My bigger problem is that I'm supposed to listen and remember certain things she said and forget others.

Someone needs to work on a FaWTLexicon.

The job interview was weird. It was supposed to be two hours long, but it got cut down to one hour, because some people couldn't make it, which means I would have to drive up again for the other group or make them accommodate me. Then, it seemed like they were very interested in hearing me articulate why I preferred Java over C++, because we went back to that three times during the interview. So, I feel like I did relatively well in some areas, but I have no idea how I did in others.

My wife got a full-time job offer at the place she's working in Winston-Salem, so my daughter will be spending the rest of the week here, then starting high school back home. She's happy, and I'm happy for her, but maybe a little (selfishly) sad. It will give me incentive to find a job in NC, I suppose. :)
