There have always been two standing rules in this thread: no politics and no religion. Thanks in part to Sebastian, we had to implement the "don't bring the crazies home with you" rule. These rules were implemented so we could have an oasis of sorts from the howling desert of negativity in the rest of OTD (not the only one, I realize, and I am engaging in some hyperbole. Some).
If you want to create Prick Perry, Buwhack Obama (I'd suggest refraining from Buttwhack Obama on principle), Sarah Bailin', Joe Bidumb, or Michelle Crackman (or Backhoe, but those also might be in poor taste), have fun...in another thread. If you want to be Eric Cartman and have all those aliases tell you how super cool you are, bust a nut...in another thread.
Gark's been ranting a lot about this IRL, so I'm just going to say something in his defense so he will shut up about it: he only brought in the alias because he was too lazy to make a Default Texan avatar. It wasn't awesome judgement, but he's apologized, and I think it's best to drop it.
** spoiler omitted **
Please realize that I wasn't reacting to his avatar. I was reacting to the snippy thread he created (which he didn't apologize for, BTDubs).
Just so we're all clear...

Dang. Maybe you should postpone the next session.
Good luck.
Make sure you have candles and battery powered radios. Lots of water.

Got my books today. Well, most of them. Waiting on one because the note says go to class first, so we'll see. Classes start tomorrow. Eep. I am not ready for this. I want more summer vacation!
Also not looking forward to the inevitable conflict between the kidlet's school wanting me to come help with stuff and me needing to be in classes. I dread his school more than mine. :(

I'm good on that, plus I am going to fill up on water from my faucets. The important thing is to fill up the tub and use it to flush the toilet if power to the pumping stations are lost.

@ CJ
I meant a rough roleplaying weekend because there probably would be no roleplaying.
Our group is split on different sides of bridges/tunnels. During Isabel, 2003, the tunnel flooded and was shutdown for about two or three weeks. Driving the bridges during high winds is crazy.
I was thinking of gaming by candle light. Just have everyone show up early. :) ....No way home. 2-3 weeks of gaming!!!
Yeah I know great idea, not practical.

Good luck to you (and your friends), Thing. You might glance through this list for anything you might have overlooked.
Down here (Gulfcoast, FL), they close the bridges when sustained winds are expected to hit 40MPH. So don't count on having time to get somewhere (and back)... winds hit those speeds well ahead of the hurricane.

As the one who first pointed out his error, I have to say I haven't even thought about it for days now. Don't think I even saw the other thread folks are talking about.
On the other hand... Where have YOU been, Mr Kobold Cleaver? Haven't seen a post by you in forever.

That accounts for the last week or so. Maybe two depending on location. I haven't seen a KC post in months. Of course my own presence has been limited. And we may just be in different areas of the forums.

School doesn't start for a few weeks over here. No, I just en't been on the OTD. In fact, I've only really been active on two threads. XD
On the bright side, I finished my NaNoWriMo and started editing it. :D
Is it because I'm so old that I have no clue what he's talking about?

National November Writing Month or something to that effect. Basically you start writing a new project and see how far you can get in one month. No stopping to edit, just write as much as you possibly can. Tried it once. Gave up writing for good. Most people find it more inspiring than that. :)

Nope. I forgot all about it and had to look it up again. NaNoWriMo
and good for you KC.

Late finish, actually. I made the 50k last year ahead of schedule, then did nothing for six months. >>

Evening folks!
Looks at the kobold
Well well! Welcome back KC! Congrats on the writing, I am suffering some rather horrid writer's block right now myself.
Thing, I am battening down as well. Best wishes on braving Irene.
I got a letter from HD, he seems in good spirits and is playing Pathfinder during his sojourn under the wing of the BoP. He wanted me to give Ogre a congratulatory shout out, he saw the credit in Ultimate Combat
Not much time to chat, got dinner cooking and a lot of loose lawn furniture yet to batten down. Send positive vibes to the East Coast and lets have this mother dud out! =D Later ...

Best wishes and good fortune to all of the east coast FAWTLies facing Hurricane Irene. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Hope things are ok with your brother BP.
Mairk - sorry the unfortunate outcome of your friend's father is getting further murkier by the timing of the funeral.
