You know, you try and get some images out of your mind and then some badger brings them flooding back. That movie was horrendous. A twenty minute wrestling match to try on a pair of sunglasses nearly had me committed.

Not even Jennifer Connolly (who I am deeply smitten with) could redeem that flick.

The only problem I have with JC's The Thing is deciding whether it's better or worse than Big Trouble in Little China.

Now I would say they ae equal I loved the campyness of Big Trouble in Little China. But the The Thing there is something very primal and nasty and scary about that film. I loved both for compeltely different reasons.

That was one of the ridiculous things that made the movie so awesome.

Echoing what Gruumash said above, I like all of those movies, but they were all very different experiences, so I like them for entirely different reasons.

Morning, all. What did I miss?

I am trying to figure out my schedule for next semester so I can register for classes tomorrow. Microbiology isn't fitting into my schedule very well so I'm looking at other options...the problem is that other options means I have to look at the social sciences....but I hate the social sciences. Thought about just fitting in some extra math, but trig is only three credits which means I need another class. Aaagh!

I think maybe it's time to break for lunch.

Afternoon all.

In a few days Harry Potter will be out locally. This one should have more action in it than the last. I tried rewatching it, but it's sooo dang slow.

What's the consensus on the new Conan movie trailer? You can actually understand the new guy. I'll probably see it.

Considering Escape from L.A., don't know if good idea it is.
It was written at or around the same time as Big Trouble, so I think it might have had the same feel as the first. You are right however, Escape from LA should have been called escape from the theater.

Big trouble was originally going to be set in the wild west. I think Clint Eastwood was going to be the lead for the movie but he turned it down and Carpenter wanted Russell anyway.

Moth I have the DVD if you want to borrow it.

It's one of my favorite movies...... Along with Stripes, Blazing Saddles and Cannonball Run.

You forgot one.

Well, Brandon spent the day trying to convince Amelia that she should forget all about her deceased pet Ollie, only to have Dr. Jackson show up with a clone of the animal. Meanwhile, Linda was shocked to discover that she had lost out on being Employee of the Month by one vote to Donald the mail deliverer. And, across town, Scott was taken aback by Charlie's sudden....No, wait! That's my soap opera.

I'm looking forward to this one. If it makes enough money, I'm hoping the studio will go with an actual adaptation of one of the REH stories for a sequel.

My first experience with Jennifer Connelly was Once Upon a Time in America, which she was in only briefly. Awesome movie, and it helped me recognize her two years later in Labyrinth. It was cool that she was only two years older than me.

This is what I want, over the course of say 5 years.

Conan, the HBO TV series. Based on the works of REH. Need I say more?

Quite a memorable scene, although given the laws about age-of-consent and pornography, I assume it was a body double...

But, yeah, that movie was wikkid ossom!

growing up over here, most of this comics are completly unkown and superhero comics pretty much don't exist.

so every comic book movie is a new story with fresh new characters for me.

superman, spiderman and batman have been only movie characters for me as a child. x-men was only a tv cartoon

watchman, blade, green lantern, daredevil and many others I had never even heard about before there was a movie

the comics I grew up with are: Asterix, Lucky Luke, Micky Mouse, Clever&Smart, Yps

I never actually saw cartoons or comics until I was around 14. I'm not a Marvel/DC consumer. I've seen a few comics converted to movies (one of "the ex-human action movies", as LiveWire! put it*). Asterix is the only one on your list I've read.

Jess Door: Grats on your new house! We're a few permits and a few months away from fully converting our garage to a living space (pretty much since we moved here it's been an office, but now we're FINALLY getting another bathroom). The cars get regular "washing" and don't get very hot outside, due to the climate.

gran rey de los mono: Yes, go with the responsible choice and pay off your debt.

Lynora: Video games are important. <Click. Click.>

Justin Franklin: Cool (that you had a good weekend and your kid is growing up well).

taig: Cool (that you had a good weekend - not that you didn't enjoy the movie).

SP: Sorry your foot is (was?) hurting. But I thought bird feet could get near-frozen and you wouldn't itch when they thawed.

Freezing someone's feet in ice and dumping them in the bay - okay, the body's gonna get found, but it'll be a very scary death for them.

aeglos: Blazing Saddles is awesome.

HATE on noobshows.

Have people over. Two sets as of 3:00 pm IN THE FUTURE. Family is getting moved around, but I have so little space that I don't have to move. Of course, my room is filled with boxes.

Family also killing spiders with stinky toxic fumigation. Sad.

It's still morning!

Found out that shortcake is REALLY fast to make. Like half an hour. So we're actually low on strawberries (at least in garden - we still have frozen ones). Up until now, I've basically had to make all dishes with strawberries (strawberry rhubarb pie, strawberry rhubarb crisp, strawberry shortcake). Hopefully the strawberry season is soon over.

Now that computers are being jerks, I'm making much more progress on my reading. Also, started drawing again. Still very poor, though.

Probably will not be on here again today. I really need to talk to people on my game - it's been like two weeks - so perhaps when I get around to that.

I thought about doing it "I.T.", but it didn't look right. After looking it up, it looks like the correct usage is "IT". Not to be confused with creepy clowns.

Conan the Barbarian happens to be one of my favorite movies the one liners are incredible in that film. That aside I do plan on watching the film, I thought Jason did a great job as Kal-Droga in Game of Thrones which seems to be a preamble for his role in Conan. We'll see but I am hopefully optomistic.
