Nightspawn was fun, the one time I played it (later changed to Nightbane after getting sued by Spawn).

Almost home after five and a half hours on the road. I have had too much coffee by my standards and that's a lot.

Glad that you made it home safe.

Just pulled into the driveway. Now to unload the car, air out the sleeping bags on the deck, start a load of laundry, and go to the grocery store.

I binge played a whole lot of Path of Exile yesterday. I suppose I could have gone out cycling in the morning, but I was too focused on getting my shadow up to level so he could use the fancy gear and also do maps with my brother.

It was rather funny.

Bro: The map is level 76 - you up to it or not?

Me(On a level 73 shadow) : Don't worry, already did a 76 map.

The essence drain contagion shadow clear speed is phenomenal if the bad guys are cluster fked. You tag the whole group with contagion then essence drain the front guy, the first guy dies, essence drain and contagion spread throughout the pack until everything is dead. It may even hit things up to 2 screens away.

The fun part is that essence drain gives me a small bit of health for the damage it does, and yes I should have ended up dead the last time I whirling bladed into the pack, but the essence drain health gain over something like 16 or so mobs was keeping me alive.

My essence drain damage still isn't up to scratch, but that's really from being underlevelled and I need to get + spell damage gear.

Next league in path of exile(10 days or so) I'm going to play an essence drain contagion trickster. I'll miss my toys(equipment) that I had this league.

My brother is trying to show in Poe how manly he is - he used a helm that requires you to have no chest piece. So he runs around stark Nekkid.

Then he used facebreaker mitts(so he is unarmed) and ancestral warchief totems so the totems pound everything with bare hands. He calls them his mochi pounders.

He has good single target damage and good survivability(all that strength nodes add to a lot of hp), but is not so good at clearing packs as his totems have minimal range. Chieftain ascendancy gives him life leech from his totems and he's using tukohama shield that gives him +500 armor per totem he has (he has 3). I think for optimization, one of us should play a boss killer while the other a build that is good against packs of mobs.

I know my trickster isn't very good at bosses. Usually involves darting said boss with essence drain then playing a game of tag with the boss all around the boss arena and not getting caught by said boss.

Also, quiet Monday - at least for the Americans.

Mostly better now. All done with the fever, nausea, and congestion. But dear lord, the fatigue does not want to let go! Trying to get back into the swing of things, and catch up on housework and such, but I keep having to stop to rest. I’m used to persistent fatigue. It’s a symptom of one of my medical problems. And I’m saying this is over the top. Blergh.
The kidlet is also better and has done everything he can to catch up on the schoolwork he missed, so hopefully this coming week won’t be utterly awful. He’s struggling with the fatigue too though. He decided not to go to jujitsu practice this afternoon because he was still too tired to get through it. Here’s hoping we are both back to normal energy levels by tomorrow! :)

I've played Rifts...and I had issues with the system and the GM (great, allow one of our players to select a caster class, then categorically deny her the ability to actually cast a spell because...reasons). But the setting was definitely good.

Maybe not most. Depends on your line of work. Banks, government offices, schools, etc are closed. Most businesses aren't.

Also, expressing a bit of frustration with this statement... Putting it in spoiler because of topic.

Spoiler:
A coworker of mine is extremely political. Her and I don't get along much because I tend to avoid politics.

She keeps bugging me about my political stance. Mostly because she doesn't know what it is. I finally have had enough.

Today, she started to ask me something political and I said, "Whatever topic you bring up, I will find some way to beat you into submission with it."

She said, "Even Trump?"

I replied, "You think I won't kidnap the President just to use him as a club? If it shuts you up, Guantanamo would be worth it."

So, anyway, to reassure the NSA agent reading this. She backed off. I am not planning to kidnap the President.

So, all kinds of entertainment this afternoon, but I'll spare everyone my usual tirades about other drivers (all of it boils down to, "If you're personally responsible for blocking the flow of traffic, you're a bad driver"), and instead visit the weather.

It was supposed to drop into the 20s this weekend as an arctic cold front moved in over us. Impus Major asked whether it would snow. I tried to explain that snow required clouds, and cloud provide insulation, and we're so close to a 55-degree ocean that the atmospheric blanket would heat the area up too much to give us snow, but Impus Major and NobodysWife stopped listening about halfway through and started their own conversation.

So I don't know whether it counts, but clouds *did* move in, and we *are* getting precipitation in the cold front, and in Emeryville just outside of the IKEA I got a good 15-20 seconds of real, honest-to-goodness snowfall. It promptly warmed up and exploded into sleet, hail, and rain, but for a few seconds, we really had snow.

So I'm trying to decide whether that's the third time in my life I've seen it snow around here. The other two times the period could be measured in minutes, and we even got a light dusting. This was, "I think I'll snow I think I'll snow... ah, meh! Too much work! Have some weird rain!"

But it was at least frozen precipitation. We don't get that all that often around here!

Maybe it's that I work in tech, or California, or that the average age of my departments has always been 30+, but we've (almost) always adhered to FaWtL rules at work:

  • No political discussions
  • No religious discussions
  • No dating co-workers
  • It makes life SO much easier and relaxing! Work can be stressful enough without intentionally bringing more conflict in!

For your co-worker, I recommend duct tape.

Oh, LM, since you're on, that pot roast never got eaten, so it's heating up right now. Is pot roast, mashed potatoes, green beans, fresh sour batard, and a good zin OK instead of the pub?

Politics, like alignment threads never work well. Actually I can talk politics with my friends and family, but I steer away from it with colleagues.

Anyway Singapore is essentially a one party state, for good or for ill. Don't think it's going to change too much in the near future. And mostly I don't care.

No dating Co workers make sense. If you have a falling out, going to work and seeing the same person everyday is going to get hard.

There were hailstones in one part of Singapore that came with the rain last month. Talk about freak weather.

Anyway, back in highschool, I played a game called Little Fighter. I primarily played John because he can summon a purple shield to hide behind. It’s d@mn funny when some joker charges you then you summon a shield in his face and knock him down. My favourite trick also was to create a shield, leap OVER the shield, and whack the unfortunate sap from behind. Then jump back behind the shield before the guy can recover from the surprise attack.

Yes, it’s so cat, and probably says some nasty things about my character :P Like rogues that do it from behind…

And John has this cool homing disc that goes towards the nearest badguy, so its lazy aiming. But it costs a lot of mana. Not to mention of all the characters he’s the only one who can heal himself using his mana.
Anyway I was passable at duelling (Unless the other side is using hax characters like Firzen or Julian), but I need a lot of space to play with, so I could never do the campaign mode well – too many bad guys swarm me under and I don’t have enough space to do my little hit-and-run tricks. Yep, the only time I ever get close, it’s on my terms.

I was working on this post when I was peeking at a post on the Ask the Mark Seifer Anything Thread. Poor guy gets so many people looking for him for answers. He helped me with some of mine, and one good turn deserves another.

    Better spoilered to play safe:

    When it comes to religion:

    Me = free thinker.

I believe in karma, and I live by the principles do unto others what you want done onto you.

Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one.

I think some quotes from various religions make sense.

My best friend and his wife used to be right wing born again evangelicals when I met them.

Slow: Yaddithians have a base land speed of 20 feet.
Darkvision: Yaddithians can see in the dark up to 60 feet.
No breath: Yaddithians don't breathe, and are immune to effects that require breathing (such as inhaled poison).
    Claws: same as Vesk.
Rugose: +1 racial bonus to AC.
Cosmic Mind: +2 racial bonus to mysticism and culture checks.
Long lived: Yaddithians live for thousands of years.

If they're scholars why should they have a negative wis modifier? You'd think thousands of years years would provide time for them to learn from their mistakes. Or blow themselves up like those in the Darwin Awards so the reckless members of the species never get a chance to reproduce and pass on their reckless genes.
