That's plausible for larger restaurants -- Rivoli is tiny; maybe 18-20 tables, and when you're having dinner it's easy to see that the tables are always all full. I've just been there often enough and never seen any such storage that I'm wondering, "Er, where did THAT come from?"

Impus Minor has decided to try to run a home-brew campaign on Sundays while we're away, so he had his friends over creating characters this afternoon. They've obviously both hit puberty early (two tall lanky 8th graders already pushing 5'10").

So,
Visitor #1: Is it OK if I have some Chex Mix?
NobodysHome: Sure. NobodysHome thinks: "It's a family-sized pack. There's plenty for the next couple of weeks, so it won't hurt Impus Major's lunches too much if he has a bowl."

Cue Visitor #1 having FOUR FULL BOWLS of Chex Mix, wiping out the entire family-size package.

I swear, I know teenagers eat like horses, but we were always taught to fill up at home so we didn't abuse other people's hospitality.

It was... vexing.

Fortunately, I simply informed Impus Major he wouldn't be getting any Chex Mix this week because Visitor #1 ate them all. I look forward to seeing what foul thing happens...

Sometimes my job really annoys me. Not even the job, really, but the workplace. We have 4 laser printers. One in the guest business center, one in the manager's office, and two at the desk--one a regular printer and the other a printer/scanner/copier/fax. None of them use the same toner cartridges, in fact they're 4 different brands. The reason we have two at the desk is that the multifunction one won't work with the property management software we use. So anything from the PMS gets sent to one printer, and everything else (word, directions from google maps, etc...) goes to the multifunction. We can print from the PMS to the printer in the manager's office. The front desk printer has been out of toner for almost a week, and we don't have a spare. So, we've been printing to the manager's office. But tonight, the office is locked, so I can't go get anything from the printer. This means I can't deliver the receipts like I'm required to. The assistant manager said "Oh, just print them to the office anyways and we'll get them when either I or the manager come in". I just know that I'll have a bunch of people come up to me in the morning and demand their receipts, and I'll have to say "Sorry. We can email or fax it to you if you'd like. Otherwise, you'll have to wait until a manager comes in. No, I don't know when that will be."

Aye we ran out of key cards once. They were in the locked managers office. I couldn't let guests into their rooms. On the plus side I got to wake manager up at 1am and make them fix the problem.

Has anyone used the PDF version of the Pathfinder Pawns? I have a friend with some of the print version (which I like), but I was thinking of doing the PDF so I can print as many as I need. But I was wondering how they are laid out. Do you have to print out one side, then feed the paper back through, hoping you've got it turned just right so it all lines up, or do they print out both sides next to each other so you can fold them up?

I use them to get the images for Roll20 so I haven't tried physically printing them, but they really are just like the pawn sets come -- both sides, with the pawns theoretically lined up. So with a color printer that does double-sided printing, it should just be, "Print and forget".

YMMV.

EDIT: OK, interestingly enough, Adobe Reader wouldn't print them at all -- some kind of protection error. Fortunately, on a Mac I could use Preview to print a 2-sided sheet and cut out a pawn. And yes, it was all lined up, so it is indeed "fire and forget" -- though getting your printer to do 2-sided card stock may be an issue...

I've bought the pdfs for the first two Legacy of Fire pawn sets.

I cheated.

Rather than buy cardstock and follow the instructions with the little round base that's printed on the page, I just printed them on regular paper, cut rectangles around the figures, glued them to some old poster board I had stored behind the couch, and used standard Pathfinder plastic bases.

Even as broke-ass as I invariably am, I've found them to be pretty good value for the money, just time-consuming.

I downloaded and installed the Cyrillic keyboard during the last season of Agents of Shield (in case there were any Easter eggs or hidden jokes in the Russian signage; there weren't any) but now my keyboard keeps defaulting to Cyrillic and it's vexing.

Delete a language pack by following the steps below:

1. Open the SwiftKey Hub.
2. Tap 'More'
3. Tap 'Languages'
4. Uncheck the language you want to delete.
5. Long press to delete the language.
6. A dialog box will appear asking you to confirm your actions. Select 'Delete'

Gods, it's only school day 2 and I'm already facing all of the issues from last year! In spite of the kids swearing up and down "never again" because this stuff causes them great unhappiness:

I woke up Impus Minor at 6:10 am. Instead of getting up and moving to the living room (as he knows he has to to wake up), he rolled over and fell back asleep. Leading to the overwhelming, over-the-top panic attack when I woke him up again and he didn't have time to unwind. Yeah, sending my kid to school in tears with no breakfast is all kinds of fun.

I asked Impus Major about homework last night and he insisted he'd done it all. Then this morning he found a math assignment he'd completely forgotten about and put in the wrong place. I swear, we all know that you can hand him a ball and say, "Put this in the blue box in the kitchen" and he'll forget these instructions on his way there. We have all kinds of coping mechanisms, including all his homework going in the same place and me going over it every night with him. Yet he still forgets to put it in the right place.

Dishes, food, and garbage left all over the house as the kids' ability to clean up after themselves completely evaporates, and then they complain when their allowances have been massively cut because of such behavior. (It's pretty simple -- each item that *I* have to pick up costs them $1. They can lose their allowance pretty darned fast.)

*SIGH*. And here I thought both kids were showing a lot more maturity this year and things were going to be different.

Have you tried hitting it, cursing, and then restarting it.
