I survived six hours at a Con with a four and a six year old and no money! And no one had a meltdown!
My daughter was in heaven because she looked so good that people kept asking for pictures with her.
And she got to meet Gates McFadden. Who was ridiculously warm and sweet to her.
Oh, and the local quidditch league team had a "try quidditch" booth and she got to give it a go.
Very, very happy little girl.

Watching a video, and they are discussing the difference between Gothic Horror and Gothic Terror. The explanation given is that in Gothic Horror it appears that everything can be explained by science and reason, but in the end it turns out to be supernatural. Gothic Terror, on the hand, makes you think the supernatural is involved, but it turns out that everything was being done by normal people. So the examples he gives are Indiana Jones for Horror, and Scooby Doo for Terror.

How to get me to reinstall the garden patio in one step.
1. Start working in the garden. Captain Yesterday will follow.
Now I just need to go get another 1/2 cubic yard and the job will (mostly) be done.
The pebble mosaic between the big stones will be tackled after school this week.
Assuming it doesn't snow (glares at weather report).

Tomorrow I chaperone a field trip for Tiny T-Rex's class (they're all hovercraft parents, so parents might actually outnumber kids, so no medal needed).
It's at the university nature center, with prairies and everything.
Of course, who used to regularly volunteer for prairie restoration. :-)

I've been called again to job in the last moment. I love getting this calls as more work means some money and more points for being higher on the lists but I hate receiving them so late. I've already had to cancel gaming sessions because of it.

I also get to work on a day I'm not scheduled this week. Thursday is Take your child to work day and apparently a toy store is more fun to go to work at then an office.
