My PbPs are noted for going rather fast. It's all dependant on your players, I think. I let mine know 1/day is minimum, and when reviewing applicants I go over their most used aliases and check post frequency as one of my conditions (including writing style, character story, party fit cohesion, etc). Great posters aren't great if they only post once a week, no matter how fun they are to read.

Captain Yesterday, Brut Squad wrote:We put out our Christmas stuff as soon as we put out our Halloween stuff at work.
On August 27th.
Edit: and good luck finding an advent calendar now, unless you want Tsum-Tsum.
We put ours out in September. Halloween a week before Christmas, Christmas near the end of September.
We have advent calendars out the ass. We even have some advent calendars that are a 12 pack of mystery beers instead of chocolate.
Now I'm just picturing a donkey with a bunch of advent calendars hanging off of it hanging around outside the store.
Now all you need are those life-sized plastic light-up Joseph, Mary, and the Baby Jesus figures to set up around the donkey and you'll be all set!
Sacrilegious? In San Francisco, I don't think there's such a thing. Except this comment removed by flaming bicycles.

Aaaaaaand...
So, every year in Albany there was a nativity scene at Solano and Key Route. And every year guys like him were in a race to see who could steal the Baby Jesus the fastest. So one year, he got in there first, only to find a light bulb with a note. "Dear vandals, please stop stealing our Baby Jesuses. They are very expensive."
Much to my amazement, he neither stole nor smashed the light bulb. Instead, he said, "You know, I kind of like their style."
The light bulb Jesus survived the vandals for many years, until the nativity scene was finally taken down for political reasons. The vandals just didn't have the heart to smash the light bulb.
Weird stuff.

I don't know the first thing about PFS, other than it's a thing. There'd be some hand-holding involved, and I don't know how you'd feel about that.
The other requisite bit for me is: what class(es) does a group need? That may color my decision, too.
I'm used to new Pathfinders joining the table. :) As for classes, it depends on who shows up. You could certainly look at what the rest of the party is bringing before finalizing your character.

To the unwed: we were engaged for two and a half years after that.
I can guarantee that there was a lot I did wrong there, but considering eleven years later and, "In sickness" is firmly in place (in my current state, that is obvious), choosing her was not one of those things.

Ah!
That was the most intense pain I've ever felt. There is a kind of phantom pain left over, but the main thing is gone. I... can't imagine something worse. Huh. Well, everything has to be better from this point on - I mean, it can't get any worse than that! Oof.
Holy crap. Hard to believe it took less than an hour...

Time to go to the doctor man. I'm not even kidding.

I agree. I hope you feel better soon, Tacts!

I passed a kidney stone a couple of years ago, it was not as painful as my daily pain (leftovers from Iraq). Passing the stone was about a 6 or 7 on a 1 - 10 with 10 being the worst pain. My daily pain is always between 8 & 9. My worst pain was waking up during surgery many years ago. I had my gallbladder removed for gallstones.

~winces~ Ouch! I am so sorry that you are in such pain. Please take care of yourself!

See yourself to the infirmary, trooper, and no push-ups till after! Now move your hind end!!
And don't be surprised if you're ordered to start having beer on a regular basis -- buddy of mine (long time tee-totaler) just had to make that change earlier this year: and he only does it because he has to . . . drinks pansy-beers, he does . . . .

I in fact was a trooper, good guess. I was in 1-10 Cavalry as a 19D (Cavalry Scout). It was a good time. Not much drinking on my part but I never have been much of a drinker. I do like Captain Morgans Private Stock and I also like Guinness.

I just chanced upon that, Raven Moon -- that whole bit was directed at Tacticslion. :D
I never served. Thank you for yours.
EDIT: I'm just fine with Jack Daniel's Old No. 7. The Single Barrel Select is for special occasions. No Jaegermeister, absinthe, or Crown Royal (the Bud Light of whiskeys, in my opinion).

So TOZ, I could probably recommend a fairly fast set of players from my alumnae, or you could try to recruit from the Red Arm of Absalom (one of the fastest tables from the recent special.)
I'll send you a list of players who kept up fairly well with the 2-3 posts a day that I tend to prefer. Mind, I'm doing far more than that as GM!
Hmm

I am convinced that NobodysWife would do a very good job of Sethra Lavode, though maybe that wouldn't be as fun as Lulu (who-lu?)

Thank you, all. I think I'm over the worst of it. After my last post, I passed out in bed and slept for about six and a half hours - the longest unbroken time yet!
Huzzah!
... sigh. X)
I am not well, but I am staying hydrated (more than a mouthful of water no longer makes me want to puke) and that should hopefully hold off any more nonsense at bay. My body is still confused with itself (and continues to misappropriate much of the water I'm drinking - come on, Body, stop that! You know better!), but enough of it's getting through that I think - and pray - I'm in the clear from the worst parts this thing can throw down. Now it's just waiting for the stragglers of the virus to realize they've been beaten and surrender with quiet dignity ruthlessly be eliminated from the face of the planet, I hate disease in general, Urgathos is the worst!
The other good news is that I didn't break anything - either in the house or in my fist! I kept worrying that I'd punch something without remembering to hold back. Self control for the win! (Though barely. I usually noticed I was punching the wall while I was in the act of doing so, only barely slowing it down before impact. I was able to move to tile instead and slap it, so that it meant less likely to break things... though open palm strike is a breaking technique they're going to teach us in TKD, so, I dunno. I was pretty weak, too, so that's probably part of it.)
It's funny - I never empathized with my little one's desire to just knock something over as hard as he can when upset until then. So... yay for growing in empathy as a daddy?
Plus, I'm now possibly aware of what it was like - admittedly for only a fraction of the time - for my wife giving birth! Yay, more empathy and understanding!
... I really hope that's the last time. Ever. I think my kidney is slightly bruised.
Fortuitously, neither of my kids have shown even a hint of being as badly affected as I. It's bad, especially for my eldest, but no where near as-bad. So for that, I'm extremely grateful. I think they were able to drink stuff without nausea much earlier than I, and with milder symptoms. I'm hoping nothing like this comes up for them - it's my understanding (based off of medical help) that such a set of problems is moderately rare to have at the same time (though it was likely caused by the loss of fluids and inability to keep them from the first disease). Yay medical lottery! I win!
But thank you all for your concern and support.

Puts away grappling hook used to scale the wall of the Tactilely minded Kitty pride compound. Stashes the flour used to overcome the laser alarm. Buries the cable used to go all mission impossible inside the air vent. Hides the receipt of purchase for the toys used to bribe the little ones to keep quiet. Swallows the pen used to change Tacticslion's Will.
Well, maybe you aren't...

Tacticslion |

Hah! You thought that will actually nets you profit?!
Enjoy owing a lot more than you do now, sucker!
Though given all the things you went through, I think you might have changed the wrong will...
(True story: once, in college, my Jeep - kind of where I kept all my stuff, at the time - was broken into, all the stuff rifled through and tossed about. I found $1.47 that I hadn't had previously on the floor of my Jeep. I think I was so poor - my stuff was all old clothing and old used school books at the time -, the robber gave me some money, or a random passerby did; either way, nothing was stolen or even really "vandalized" in the sense that it was an obvious target of anything. Just a shattered window, stuff rifled through and change left behind. Weird and kind of hilarious.)

Tacticslion |

Ah, crap.
Wife is sick, too.
:/
Hey, CY: pray you broke into the wrong compound, otherwise I think I know how your week is going to go...
EDIT: two good things, here: one, we learned the hard way with me; two hers seem slower and mor regular stages instead of a surprise "here's all the bad at once" it was with me. That's nice. Gives planning and preparation time.

damn. I was hoping it was illness from the kidney stone passing.
