Why do you need to put clothes on?

I think I would want a kite that lights up though preferably from a flame thrower.

See? We get Rosita in on this as well and we can do "Captain Yesterday's California Bay Area Gardening Tour and Road Show" or some such.

And then put it on PBS so retired folk can watch young folk work...

How does my Legacy of Fire party deal with large groups of Pugwampis? Set them, and the beds they're camping on, and the ceiling, on fire, and then use the smoke to drive the giant spider out of the nearby tower.

Sounds like how my players dealt with pretty much the entirety of "The Whispering Cairn."

"Acid beetles? THROW BLANKETS ON THEM, THEN LIGHT EVERYTHING ON FIRE. NUKE THE TOMB FROM ORBIT."

Those beetles put my group - including my monk - on complete Yakety Sax mode, running around in circles while the sorcerer and rogue tried to kill them with basic spells and alchemist's fire.

I guess kiting is a thing in pen & paper games too...

That job was for the first president of Microsoft, it cost around a million dollars, twelve years ago, I didn't design it (but I can now, I have design training and software) I just installed it, every last pebble pretty much, the boulder fountain in those pictures was all mine, I'll get some more pictures on there, I've had issues with Apple Photo and photobucket compatibility, will work on that this weekend.

But yeah, I love doing that, can't wait until Tiny T-Rex is off to school so I can tear it up again, my talents are wasted where I'm working now.

Not sure why I'm working tonight, 4 trainees are doing my busy work, at least I get hours, I guess.

It's also that time of year where people think I will tell them and no one else what our thanksgiving day sales are if they're nice to me for a minute and a half and ask conspiratorial like.

I've no idea what you mean by "rudeness" - it's gone now, or I just haven't/won't see it -, but it's entirely forgiven, whatever it was. If I did anything to cause it, I'm sorry!

I can sign Johh up. And I can drink wine while you all do your landscaping.

I made my own sauce to dip katsu in. It's not katsu sauce, but it's good. Start out mixing, like, one part honey and two and a half parts soy sauce, add a couple splashes of orange juice, some orange peel, and a good sized dose of smoked paprika. The sweet balances out some of the salty and the paprika handles the rest, and the smokiness adds a great complexity. Next time, I want to see how leaning on the orange juice instead of the honey works. Then again, I'm not sure if going heavy on the citrus in a smokier sauce is a good idea.

I wanted to back it, but my funds were limited, so I instead backed Aethera* (Pathfinder... in... Space!!!) and Greater Rogue Glory (which didn't make it).

* If anyone is interested, they've only got 3 days left til the Kickstarter ends.

So, some highlights of the recent times.

- I got Sans in an Undertale character quiz.

- Suffered of an art block. Most likely due to stress.

- Online D&D campaign has continued to be epic and hard to explain.

- Carrion Crown game scheduled for Saturday of this week. The trial continues as scheduled.

- Tomorrow is my last day of work at the library. However, a colleague suggested a place I could apply for!

Shiro's player grew up in Detroit, but most of his family is from Kentucky. He loves to tell us how Southern manners prevent his family members from ever saying anything mean about anyone, but, "Bless his heart" is code for, "What an idiot!"

So we found this very amusing, until I was waiting for a conference call on speakerphone. I happen to LOVE my company's call center, because it seems entirely populated by charming Southern women who love to chat with you while you're waiting for the conference to begin.

So I was joking with one such operator while NobodysWife was in the neighboring room on her computer. I said something, and the operator laughed and said, "Bless your heart!"

NobodysWife promptly lost it entirely and asked, "What did you DO to her?!?!"

At which point the operator, who heard the whole thing, also lost it entirely.

Apparently it's a very common code in the South.

Another common thing, this time from the East Coast, is "secret deals" that only employees know about.

You never see it here in California except when tourists show up and demand to know what the "local deals" are.

And they get VERY offended when you claim you don't know of any.

Apparently shopping is a competitive sport back East...

"Were ya/was he or she/must've been raised in a barn" is very popular up here, of course the answer being "yes" a good amount of the time is beside the point. :-)

Extremely so.

To the point that the only people you usually have to actually explain it to are the people who didn't grow up there.

One of our wonderful friends had a grand old time exchanging offensive Christmas cards with us every year.

It all started one year when he sent us one of those uber-cutesy kids' cards showing a farmer with a chicken under one arm. Inside, he wrote the caption

Mildly offensive:

"Farmer John has a great big cock for you!"

So NobodysWife found the all-time winner with a card that showed Jesus exiting a house at night, and someone yelling from inside, "Jesus Christ! Close the door! What were you, born in a barn?!?!?"

We always loved that one. And our friends declared us "winners" because of it. (More likely they ran out of silly cards...)
