Ooohh, I have some experience with anxiety attacks.

Things that have worked for me:
1- Prayer. Knowing that the Lord is on your side and both loves you and will see you past anything is a huge weapon against anxiety.
2- Totally losing myself in a fictional world. Sadly this fix though it does work every time seems to only be a temporary fix.
3- Athletic competition. Also works, but just like fictional worlds it is a temporary fix.
4- Friends who can comfort you. It's a bit of a soft weapon vs anxiety but when it works that episode stays fixed.
There is one annual anxiety attack I haven't had luck fixing with any method and that is my Christmas anxiety attack. But since it is family related it hits and score a critical against my heart directly. Hmmm... only about 5 or 6 weeks till unreasoning panic and terror settles into me again... yuck.

Ugh. Speaking of family inspired anxiety attacks, Dad came by for a surprise visit with his new girlfriend in tow. At least my sister gave me a heads up about the girlfriend. (Dad was pissed. Because he likes causing discomfort where it isn't necessary. Sigh.)
And then I had to go and be social. Which I failed at. I'm not exactly a sparkling extrovert to start with and dealing with strangers after dealing with my dad...yeah, no. >.<

A chance of rain for Halloween, I laugh at rain for Halloween! We shall not be deterred from collecting the most candy. If you've ever seen the episode of Bob's Burgers where the kids find a neighborhood that hands out tons of full candy bars, yeah we know where Madison's neighborhood like that is, and it's pretty close by.

I was never very good at Mega Man, I always hated the jump from pedestal to pedestal shit, same with Mario Bros now Legend of Zelda, Double Dragon, that one RPG/War Game set in ancient China, those games I ruled.
Castlevania I put up with because of the awesome story but that game frustrated me, I started to appreciate video games more as the graphics improved and added more depth.
So any big plans planned for Halloween, we're looting the city of candy and having Pea Bear's friends over for a "sleep over" (11-12 year old girls don't sleep in groups, they giggle) anyway both me and the General are off work from Thursday thru Tuesday so yay!

Halloween is the time for the infamous Pirate poker party in which everyone dresses up in pirate gear and plays poker. I can hear the arrrghs starting already

I'm very strongly a retro-gaming fan compared to more modern stuff, is more what I meant. My favorite games are all NES/SNES-era or games that mimic that style such as Undertale and Shovel Knight. The modern games that I tend to like tend to be ones that lean heavily on those older games for inspiration, like Zelda: Link Between Worlds, Golden Sun, or Bravely Default.
With a few small exceptions - the more recent Pokemon games, some of the more recent Mario titles, etc. - I stopped really liking a lot of the newer games that came out at around the time of the PS2, with Final Fantasy 12 being the last game I remember being really excited about coming out, that wasn't an obvious homage or throwback or retro-clone. After that point, the console wars lost my interest - PS3 and PS4 were, and are, a bit too focused on competition with XBox for my liking, as there's almost zero XBox games that I have interest in, so the stuff being made to compete with it likewise doesn't interest me.
Wii and WiiU I like, but primarily for Virtual Console, though as I said some of the more recent Mario stuff does get my attention from time to time. Otherwise I tend to stick to indie retro-style games, usually on PC, or handheld Nintendo consoles.

The only time we ever got some other kids intentionally arrested was when they were bag snatching from kindergartners. Not cool. So we got 'em busted. Felt good.
My parents used to make us trick or treat for UNICEF, I agree there are better ways to raise money for charity.
Edit: you'd love my kids they're professional trick or treaters, always say thank you and trick or treat and wait for their turn :-)

Well, here's the "political stuff" I managed to avoid the first time... I blame Captain Yesterday, as always.
Albany and Kensington are two high-income, "high on the neighborly index" communities. Most houses participate in Halloween, there are "open block parties" where anyone can just wander in and help themselves to snacks and punch, etc. Very neighborly and fun.
Surrounding Albany and Kensington are Oakland and Richmond, both of which have large high-crime, low-income areas. There have been incidents of kids getting shot for trick-or-treating. The parents, being sensible human beings, drive their kids to Albany and Kensington to trick-or-treat.
This would normally not be an issue. But for whatever reason, back in the 1980's and 1990's the "imports" who came to my parents' house (across the street from the one major park in Albany) had no interest in the "spirit" of Halloween; just the free candy. Kids in their mid-to-late teens would show up at the door with no costumes, say, "Gimme some candy", and storm off with it, cussing out any home owner who gave out anything other than store-bought candy, and threatening those with the gall to say, "No costume, no candy". It got so bad that most houses in our neighborhood closed up shop rather than dealing with the bad attitudes.
Fortunately, over the last 20 years the parents recognized the problem and our "imports" are now almost all kids 12 and under, in costume, who say, "Trick or Treat" and "Thank you" and otherwise improve the entire evening.
But the fact that we nearly lost Halloween still eats at me, because it's a holiday near and dear to my heart. (My parents went from 300 kids a night to 30-40 during the worst of it.)
I love getting 200+ kids a night. I'd just like them to be happy, be polite, and be in SOME sort of costume, even if it's just a Charlie Brown sheet with two holes in it. Doesn't seem like TOO much to ask...

I also tend to get my Halloween candy from Aldi. Much cheaper, and the chocolate bars are larger, which I imagine makes the kids happy. Sure the brands are weird and unfamiliar (and, if Thursday Next is to be trusted, potentially the products of an alternate timeline reality), but it tastes great just the same.

Apartment complexes are rough. Even when we were in a 4-plex we got maybe a dozen kids a year.
My mother's in an apartment building in Albany, and she tried giving out candy once, then promptly decided she'd come to our place from now on. The first year we moved back was rough because there's an annual block party on the street behind us and no one on our street was giving out candy. But I determinedly gave out full-sized candy bars to those as came, that attracted more kids, and that convinced more of the homeowners to open up for Halloween. Our street is still pretty bad at under 50% participation, but those of us who are participating are trying to compete with the block party, so it's rich pickings for kids smart enough to know to come by...
EDIT: And with two kids in Albany schools, word has gotten out pretty fast that our block has 3-4 houses that give out full-sized bars...
EDIT 2: When I was a kid, it wasn't the brand on the package, it was the size of the bar. I doubt times have changed...
