It amuses me to no end that the head residential construction foreman at the company where I work is named Mr. Houseman.

Terrible names I've seen:

Kids' Exchange
Pen Island
Our fellow PC Penolope, who goes by Peni. (We keep talking about Peni's Envy. So far she hasn't caught on...)

My dad used to work with a guy named Chuck Steak.

When it comes to "weird names" I still remember fondly >this exchange with Cheapy<

Dick Trickle, American Racing legend, Wisconsin native :-)

Also I've known someone named Nimrod and another couple that named their son Nimrod.

Oh, don't think for a second that I don't appreciate it. The support from FaWtL is the *only* thing that's gotten me to 100 days. (Have you noticed how many favorites I get when I post about refraining?)

I've just learned never to say, "Never".

As I've said, I have a couple of years to see how my body plays things out, and if those "urges" are still around, I'm not going to play with fire. I'm being careful... I hope! :-P

EDIT: Oh, and David? I *was* that guy! It's great for the first 8 years or so... then you need to stop for a while! :-P

please keep going buddy. I like you sober.

To continue the weird names discussion:
My parents went to high school with a girl named Candy Butts
I played against a kid in little league baseball for several years named Blue Green.
My Dad was a social worker in East St. Louis for a few years and one of the couples in his case load had a daughter they named Syphilis.
I have seen a number of odd names in my years as a hotel clerk, the two that spring to mind are Osso Mumpower (maybe not that weird, but memorable), and Pansy Slackfoster (which I thought was a joke name one of the other clerks put in the computer as a laugh, but then she came to check in).

On the topic of cats, depressing things, and not-so-depressing things, Impus Major has seen far too much death in his 14 years: Five cats (two to cars, two to cancer, and one to out-and-out old age), his favorite grandfather (cancer), and soon enough he'll lose another grandfather (cancer).

So when we saw *his* cat that he picked out and named himself (an ornery calico named Princess Lily who hates the universe, except for Impus Major) was losing weight, we took her in, fearing the worst.

In an utter miracle, it was "just" hyperthyroidism. A month of medicine, a $2000 treatment, and she's 98% sure to make a full recovery. Talk about breaking your budget for a worthwhile cause! "See, Impus Major! Modern medicine DOES occasionally work!"

So one day after starting the medicine she was up and about and active again. Five days in and she brought us a nice 9" rat (body only, not including the tail). Considering she's not allowed outside except on a harness, I have no idea how she caught the stupid thing. But she's obviously feeling MUCH better already, so I'm hoping once we can get her the treatment she'll be back to her old, "If you pet me the wrong way you will BLEED!" self...

one of my goals in life is to write anglo-saxon alliterative verse in the style of beowulf, present it totally without context or explanation, so that it might pass for a quote from the epic, but if translated turns out to be straight-up gay beowulf erotica.

The iodine treatment is amazing. Our old cat suffered from hyperthyroidism, and she was in a really bad way until we got her the iodine treatment. She had to take it twice (I guess her case was particularly severe) but she was totally cured. She's a happy and healthy cat now, even in her old age.

Have you seen the missing person statistics? They are already gone from here.

I am both excited and terrified for that campaign on Friday. The group shall begin the adventure in Andoran, and every person in our party is crazy in some way.

There are a lot more Planeswalkers here than that, there were over 12 million players back in 2012 and its probably grown since.

Can you imagine if the showed, say, Kaiden in the same pants? And regularly found excuses to include close-ups of his ass?

I'm just saying - those pants look uncomfortable.

I was feeling really grumpy, burned out and a little under appreciated this morning, but i think i've moved past it :-)

edit: maybe some avatar charades will put me over the top:-)

edit 2: Not only did this guy slap his forehead with paint, he also drew a circle around it so everyone would notice, it's a test i suspect to see who has the good manners to ignore it "Hey! eyes down here buddy!"

Just because something fits like a second skin doesn't mean it's uncomfortable. There's a reason many women like wearing yoga pants so much. :)

I always assumed that Miranda's costume was actually some futuristic version of sweats....it looks like leather but it's actually stretchy and breathable. ....yes, I did actually put thought into this. And yes, it's weird that they don't spend as much time on the guys wardrobe choices. No reason they shouldn't have tight pants too. :P

Hey if you can find a tailor to make a comfortable copy of Miranda's catsuit then share. I could totally rock that outfit at a Con.

Edit: I have a motorcycle suit, I wonder if it could be modified to look like Miranda's outfit?
