Another update on grandfather.
The mass in his lung (which is the size of a 50c piece) is preventing the pneumonia-induced mucus from draining. It's also likely contributing to his high heart rate and stress. As a result, they're not wanting to dig around in there just yet, which postpones the biopsy until midweek, meaning it will be next weekend or later before we learn what it is.
In addition, they've found spots on his liver. No idea what the schedule on that is going to be.

Ugh, so sorry about the awful news, BT and Orthos. It really sucks when there isn't anything we can do to help our loved ones except hope the doctors diagnose it right and have a way to fix it. +1ing that the prognoses will still somehow get better.

Thanks for the well-wishes, everyone. It's just been a rough weekend all around, especially for my mom.
I was sleeping. Or more accurately trying to fall back asleep after waking up in the middle of the night due to aching shoulder. Thankfully the pain was gone when I woke up.
Evening shift week. Without training wheels... I will be the most experienced dispatcher without dispatch area supervisor at hand. There will be the whole line supervisor available but he is usually busy.

HOLY CRAP.
It's been way, way longer than it's supposed to have taken, but I've FINALLY DONE IT. I've uploaded ALL OF THE PICS!!!
First, to my cliffhanger from yesterday- as Sharoth(and only Sharoth) knows, I HUNG OUT WITH OUR OWN ASHE RAVENHEART/MATTDROZ YESTERDAY!!! Here are the pics of us hanging out, including an embarrassing selfie, a good look at what has become of Otafuku, my favorite(and only) takoyaki restaurant(although I didn't get a good pic of Ashe eating my balls, which for some reason he did not like...), and pics of him pushing the cube, which will seal our friendship forever, as it did with Aeglos and his wife and CH. I need to get the Moores up here to push the cube as well...
Next, a pic of Mom, which is also the pic for her on my phone. I'm not sure if this was her second or third beer, but she certainly drank me under the table...
After that, FINALLY, pics of the bike helmet!!!!!! I've since trimmed the white from the crest in the front of the helmet for a better appearance. A million internets if you're able to figure out where each sticker is from.

Anyway, I think I can ride in this birthday thing for a while. I think I could even forget next Valentine's Day and get away with it because "Remember that huge birthday party?"

Part of their business deals with rental and customer service. They saw me more as a manufacturing guy. I tried to convey how I would handle that lack of experience but it was not enough to put me over the top.
Small consolation, the manager looked at all kinds of ways to bring me on board, but just couldn't see a way of making it happen.
My wife and I are seriously beginning to consider starting up our own machine shop. Exciting and scary at the same time.

So, retail job has a lot of high school kids working there.
A handful of them are in other districts, but about half to two-thirds are in the district at which I sub.
Who wants to do the social math to find out how my day went~
:(Things are getting worse for my grandfather. His heart rate was spiking last night and his blood oxygen dropped severely so they have him on stabilizing medication and a breathing mask. They're hoping it's just because his heart is being strained by the pneumonia and the medications for it, so hopefully once those are more under control his heart troubles will also back down.
They're planning on doing the biopsy tomorrow, barring further complications, meaning we should know if the mass is cancerous by Wednesday or so. In the meantime he's been moved to ICU.

Well some disappointing news. Found out about the job I interviewed for last week. While they really liked many of my qualities, there were some specific skills I lacked that have them looking at other candidates. They haven't ruled me out completely, but it doesn't look good. Time to move on.
