I did get your text last night about the proposed kidnapping. Sadly, it wasn't until around midnight, when I woke up on the sofa, where I had fallen asleep watching tv.
I think the plan today is to kidnap me after lunch and force me to watch this new X-Men movie. After I sneak out for Mass and then a lunch with a convention gorged Wolfthulhu.
Damn i've wanted to kick Brian Singer in the Jewels for a few years now.
Anyway, maybe you can contact us and go see X-Men with us.

Last night, Boudreaux and Thibodeaux walked into City Bar and ordered a couple of drinks. They then took sandwiches from paper bags they had brought with them and began to eat.
Seeing this, the angry bar owner approached them and says, "Excuse me, but you cannot eat your own sandwiches in here!"
Boudreaux and Thibodeaux looked at each other, shrugged, and exchanged sandwiches.

Looks like I'll be heading back to Tennessee this Friday, thus getting home sometime midday Saturday, while Ebon and her family will be flying back to Arizona on Thursday. This coming week will be a sort of vacation for us, coupled with the five children of the deceased (one of which is my mother) working on settling the estate and getting my grandmother accommodated for. Thankfully two of the five children and their families are already living here in the town, and will be able to attend to the necessities for most things, and nobody is contesting the will so postmortem legal funny business should be over with quick and easy.

I went for a walk today taking advantage of beautiful weather.
When I was walking through Mouseguardhold I saw a rabbit (or maybe hare? I can never tell) in grass. When I walk a few more steps I saw second rabbit. Then I did a few more step around large bush to see whole horde or rabbits (or hares)... No squirrels today, though. I really should get a camera.

The 50th wedding anniversary was a big success this weekend. I was able to see my younger brother and his family for the first time in about 7 years. Distance and logistics have kept us apart.
Left to return home around midnight. Just stopped for a brief snooze in Southern Iowa for an hour and back in the road with my middle son driving.
Have a great Memorial Day everyone. To our non American posters, hope your Monday is treating you well.

must be rabbits, hares are quite solitars and don't go into towns, they need wide open spaces like fields

Texas seems a far better state to handle such things than Colorado. I hope it all goes well.

Mousehold Heath has some areas of wide open spaces. The exact location was edge of golf fields that are there. And they looked to be a bit smaller than one or two bigger ones that were there. Family with a horde of teenager kids? :P

So, finally gotten around to it.
As they arrive, they of course go see the king himself, though they are understandably wary of him after hearing of his enmity with Brevoy and figuring that might lead to problems later on for their county. However, they decide not to cause trouble there and then, though Vesket likened Irovetti to a court jester which was almost caused an unwanted scene. Either way, the tournament went pretty smoothly from then on. Kiriv won the archery contest after a tie-breaker, and the cheater was caught red-handed. Vesket easily beat the rest of the competition when it came down to chopping wood with an axe. Sage got to a good third place in the boast, and Wilda beat the joust but was injured by Villamor during their round in the ring.
This led to her showing up and actually tossing the gauntlet at Irovetti's feet during the award ceremony, a move that Sage and the others were not anticipating. While Irovetti shrugged it off at first, the crowd began to see him as buckling down as Vesket and others joined on goading him into accepting the challenge. He chooses to have Villamor duel Wilda. Lucky criticals and Smite Evil gave the victory to the Paladin, and Villamor yielded. Irovetti had a bit of a breakdown due to such, and called the Greenbelt County leaders barbarians. Sage was enraged by this. He swiftly and loudly denounced Irovetti, calling him out on the hypocrisy of first denying a knight the right to an honorable duel after humiliating them, and then having the gall to call said paladin (and her allies) barbaric when things don't go his way. The crowd was about to seize Irovetti after the speech riled it up, but Irovetti took a Wand out from a hidden pocket and was about to Teleport away. Sage and Irovetti rolled Initiative.
Sage won on Initiative and cast Hold Person, and Irovetti...
...rolled a 1 on his Will Save.
That changed everything. The king was captured, the part I was hoping would run for a few sessions ended there and then, and his troops were quickly rallied and defeated, with Pitax itself being given time to restore itself to how it was before the tyrant showed up to cause trouble. The session ended with a return to the county, news of Varnhold disappearing suddenly and the player characters pondering what to do with the fallen king who's now their hostage. And yeah, to think a few twists and turns caused by NPC reactions and a lucky (or unlucky) roll made the campaign take such a dramatic turn. I was at first vexed that it didn't go the way I planned, but then I figured it's even more exciting this way. All I need to do is try and recalibrate the rate at which I should hand out EXP, as Irovetti's capture gave them an instant level up. I'm sure I will figure something out, and I am very much looking forward to the next session since I have more twists and turns in mind, especially regarding Drelev and Vordakai.
Sorry about the length of this. Also, I wonder what you guys think of what happened. XD

Sounds like fun, Icyshadow. Our Kingmaker campaign has gone so far off the published modules that I doubt you'd recognize it. Our GM agrees that the current campaign can be described best as having been "created in the presence of the original work."

I forgot to mention that my maternal grandparents will be celebrating their 75th wedding anniversary in September.

This is mine as well. Chapters 2 and 3 were significantly expanded, and Chapters 4 and 5, between GM changing his mind on how he wants some things to be and the players catching the plot completely off guard, might as well have been completely rewritten. We might get back to something more like the original when we reach Chapter 6, if only because Pett is a mad genius and there's not much I can do to improve on his work, and because it's the chapter I was wanting to run the most from the get-go.

Now we are in Northeast Texas. The trip home is a little slower. We still have a little over 2 hours left to go. We left around midnight last night.
Here is hoping that you came home safe and sound, despite the torrential rains.
They have subsided now.
Oh and now I see that you have. Rock on. We leave at the break of day, to be home by supper time. Well me, Woodraven will have another 6 hour drive from there.

So, I was almost accidentally an a%*!%~+ at work this morning (as opposed to when I am an a&$++@# on purpose). A one-armed gentleman was struggling to open some sugar packets to add to his coffee, so I went over to see if he needed help. Without thinking, I almost asked if he "needed a hand," but thankfully caught myself just in time.

Good morning FAWTLY Folk! Happy Tuesday! Damn all this rain though! It pulled the American Flag right off my house yesterday. Now I've got some work to do patching those holes. It'll have to wait until I can get a few days in a row of no rain.
Probably until Sunday, actually. Which sucks, because our biggest event is this weekend and I was hoping to make a ton of money.
I'm still back stage on Sunday, though, and kicking it with Wu Tang.

Oh, and send positive waves to Crimson and Woodraven. They're sailing out today and the rivers are nasty.
Err, the roads.
+1
We think we have Dad stabilized, and I haven't been in Colorado since early February. I also have jury duty Monday in Colorado Springs, and we are trying desperately to get my daughter's family in a house very soon. It's should be a very busy summer, and we might have some work in Corpus Christi in July. That should be insanely hot and muggy.
Take care.
