Scint's due for the same today, and me this weekend. We know your pain.
I no longer know this pain, but I feel it with you! Stay strong against the frozen sky water, my friends! Stay warm!!

That sounds kinda dirty, Freehold.

I've been perverse these past few days.

Grand Lodge

That won't stop us of course.

Sovereign Court

Have you read the Prince of Nothing series, by R Scott Bakker? I may not be the most well read, but it came to me by recommendation of one who is, and I thoroughly enjoyed the series. The Farseer trilogy by Robin Hobb was also very enjoyable, and was recommended by the same fellow.

Free E-anthology with stories from 111 Campbell Award eligible authors, perhaps?

... I think I have a favorite monster girl....

Grand Lodge

Only one?

Hey! Where did my bag of sweets go?

Aaauuugh! New monster girls I can't decide which is best!!!

Sovereign Court

I have read too much. That is my problem...

I love the oni girl she's so adorable!!!! And cheesecakey.... But the cyclops is so cute and awkward and the zombie so refreshingly straightforward..... And the Doppelganger has a strong personality despite her many appearances..... Augh I can't decide!!!!

can't it be both?

He was reported to have said that he wanted to find out how bad a book he could write and get away with, which is a legitimate ambition.

There's something about the line, "My Jungle Books begat zoos of them," I find irresistibly brilliant - especially if spoken out loud.

True. I think considering she signed the letter 'D' that we know what she'll be called.

I'm tied between Mia and Suu. Although I'm looking forward to seeing Dullahan show herself.

Awesome!!

Heya, all!

Sorry to all who have snow. My area is completely clear, though.

And today is one of those "fun" untrabusy day. Well, better than the ultraviolent days.

As long as it's not ultraviolet.

Damn you, Sol!

Silver Crusade

Afternoon, all. What did I miss?

Silver Crusade

Car is still stuck. We have some more things to try (like kitty litter), but I do not have high hopes, since some of the earlier efforts drove the tires deeper and it is now in a really deep rut.

My next effort will be raising the front of the car on scissor jacks and filling in the holes with gravel.

That can't be good. Did Yahoo forget to pay their intertoobz bill?

OTAKU. It's not a dirty word!!

EDIT: Nevermind, there it goes. Bluh Yahoo! I have freelancer stuff in there I need to get! I hope it's fixed by the time I get home tonight.

Even when Yahoo mail loads, it sucks.

Now I just get 'Connection refused' from Yahoo, while Puffin can get to his email. Guess I shouldn'ta flushed DNS.

What about your floor liners for your car?

You can use anything old that is cloth-like - that ugly old bedspread, the hideous blanket your great-aunt crocheted, the neighbor's doormats.

My next effort will be raising the front of the car on scissor jacks and filling in the holes with gravel.

If you can get hold of some, try small bits of ply wood (maybe 2 square or so). It might be easier to get under the front edge of the tires, and can give you a surface to continue on to. Do you have front wheel drive or rear wheel drive? Use the wood under whichever tires are actually doing the work and gravel or similar for the other tires.

Or, if you have to room for it and know someone with a truck or 4WD, get them to gently bumper up to your car and give you a push. If I were still living in Philly, I would totally make the drive to help you out.

Good luck.

I'm pretty fed up with Yahoo. Any suggestions for a good, free mail service?

Scarab Sages

My only other suggestion would be to say "to hell with it", douse the car in gasoline and burn it.

Scarab Sages

Then you could roast marshmellows.

Gmail.

Treppa wrote:

Hotmail is the other I use - Yahoo is my personal/official email and where I send anything that needs my real name on it, my Hotmail account is where my gaming/fun/etc. stuff goes.

GMail isn't bad mechanically. I'm of two minds about their privacy agreements, I guess. That and lazy about changing over.

Hey, that's James Nesbitt playing a Russian POW in Young Indiana Jones!

My Yahoo's working now Treppa, give it another shot.

And I guess Captain de Gaulle was right about him being crazy. Long drop from the tower to the moat.

Gmail is pretty much your best bet at the moment. But even Google is having problems as of late, from what I've noticed.

It would be far better to get a paid email; the free ones seem to be increasingly unstable or becoming proprietary.
