All right folks, gotta get stuff done! Have a good one.
I should probably put clothes on first, though. Wouldn't want people to scream.

50/32 here. Slightly warming through the week, then cold again next week.

Then there was traffic on the interstate that nearly made me late. It was kind if stupid - the problem was in the HOV lane, but the way the cops had parked their cars blocked part of the far left of the south bound lanes, thus creating a back up across all 4-5 lanes of the main roadway. I saw that accident on my way to work as well at 5:50 in the morning. At first I was confused why the HOV lane was closed at that hour. Then when I saw the flashing lights I realized why. The funniest part was that I was listening to the traffic report as I drove past and heard the announcer tell me that all roads in Houston were clear with no accidents or construction to report. Doh! Yeah, according to one report I saw, some poor bastard was walking in the HOV lane and was hit by an off-duty cop. Didn't make it. I feel sorry for the cop - how f'd up is that s!#~? I more feel sorry for the guy that didn't make it. Whathappened that he was walking in the hov lane? Car accident?
Its barely 30 degrees this morning. The ride to work was heavenly.
I wish the work computer would stop glitching out...
Icyshadow wrote: I wish the work computer would stop glitching out... that's never gonna happen. I've been complaining about my work computer for years and no dice. My supervisor refuses to believe my work quality will improve if I get a new computer and believes me blind to the new computer my boss got.
Morning, all. What did I miss?

It's nice to enter local gaming shop half the continent away from your home and find a book with your own name inside.
I also learned when and where local board games evening happens. Regretfully role-playing gaming club dissolved some time ago.
I was also immediately identified as a Pole when I mentioned that I am not native English speaker...
Is there a large Polish community there?
Oh Oauth, why you so evil?

Was it created by Cosmo?
Sorry wrong thread.
Drejk wrote: I also learned when and where local board games evening happens. Regretfully role-playing gaming club dissolved some time ago. Dash it. Unfortunately, you are a bit too far from me :(
There should be some role-playing or gaming community near there. I don't believe there's a US base like Leaconheath near there?
Its funny I see a thread that I would like to make a post in; Yet Upon reading everything following the OP, it just leaves me with such a bad taste in my mouth that I block the thread first.
Celestial Healer wrote: Is there a large Polish community there? Yup. In fact it is quite easy to walk randomly into Poles. When I was returning from a walk yesterday I walked past two women speaking in Polish and there are at least three Polish shops selling Polish products around. Likely there are more.

I have a sort of ethical question about DNA and the companies who perform DNA testing, and I could really use some input. Which thread would be the one to post on?
I'll need a nice, long nap after work today...
Good morning FAWTLY Folk! Happy Thursday! Another chilly morning here in Houston, but it's supposed to warm up back into the 60s later on! Huzzah for real winter!!! ;)

Go my TWIC yesterday - Transporation Worker Identification Credential. Now I can officially go offshore to the rig my project's been working. Of course, the next scheduled trip they wanted an engineer for will take place less than a week after my wife's scheduled c-section. So that ain't happening.
So, yesterday the guy in the office next to mine was limping really bad. His ankle was swollen and hurting badly from when he'd twisted it back home. After he finally went to the hospital, turns out he broke it.

Also, did you ever get the feeling that <redacted> never really meant to <redacted> and was just hoping <redacted> would <redacted> all over the <redacted>? Because that's the impression I got.

Which goes to show I spent entirely too much time in a northern clime.

Off topic would be the best place, I guess, but yourr going to run into the faith vs science vs politics crowd. If you're cool with that, more power to you. It might be more trouble than its worth but I dramatic pause ...love trouble.

If I were ever to move back north (for whatever apocalyptic reason) I'd totally be snow plow driver and actually wait around the corner to block people's driveways back up after they'd finished shoveling.
