His mom has suspiciously Polish-looking surname...
So my second guess was correct.
I wonder if she will keep it. She left her husband 2 years ago now...
I was wondering if it was hers or her ex-husband when I recalled your older posts about your mother leaving her husband.

Damn it, coming up with city and nation names is tedious...
Yes. Last year I painted a map of my husband's homebrew world that he's been working on since he was ten. Even with all that work there were still huge sections of the map that were blank and he basically told me that it was up to me to name them, countries, cities, and large geographic features like mountains and lakes....which was fun for a while and then I ran out of names while I still had a whole lot of map left. This site was an invaluable help in coming up with enough names to fill in the rest of the blank spots. :)

I did a bunch off-the-cuff last night during a bit where Scint's character was scrying on her politically-savvy brother. I basically scrolled up and down the Romanian and Slavic section of Behind The Name and picked stuff at random, both for noble house names and territory names.

Not so good morning FAWTLY Folk! I was doing some unpacking and house organizing last night and realized I cannot find a box containing some of my most prized books: the Hobbit/LotR set I received from my grandmother, my Dune books (the ones Frank Herbert wrote, not those other ones), and my box set of other Frank Herbert novels (including my favorite, Destination: Void).
So, I freaked out for a bit and tore through pretty much every remaining box in the house, every closet, hell I even looked through the kitchen. No luck.
My big hope is that I put the box in my wife's car for safe keeping. I texted her to check that this morning. Otherwise, I've gotta hope either a joke is being played or I missed something.

Behind the Name is awesome.

I bet it will turn up.
On the other hand, right before I left California I bought a giant French cookbook that I had been wanting for almost a year. Since I moved, I have not been able to find it.

I blame the ghost of Julia Child.

I'm sure they will turn up somewhere. In your house I mean, not in eBay.
