Glad to hear you had a good time. Next time I'm hiding in your luggage so I can take up residence in the city of books.

Silver Crusade

So... Now do you remember me? Sometimes it helps to see someone nekkid.

Silver Crusade

You should go, Freehold!

Silver Crusade

Also, we should game.

Also, it seems Nathan fillion and David boreanaz may be.starting some kind of feud. This is excellent news. Most excellent.

Writing reviews is fun but kinda time consuming.

I'm glad you had a great trip, CH! Welcome back.

With practice, you'll get to Endzeitgeist levels of seeming ease with reviews. :)

And they still get to the semi-finals at the least.

Oh, I forgot the other news. My ex finally got a full-time teaching job and it's in Connecticut. I think it will be good to have him in another state.

Er, um, congratulations?

German. My step-father is of Prussian descent.

So my second guess was correct.

I was wondering if it was hers or her ex-husband when I recalled your older posts about your mother leaving her husband.

Thermometer showed just below 30 degree Celsius but when I went out to visit my uncle because today was his birthday, it was much more pleasant than I expected. Possibly the fact that I went in afternoon and not earlier like I planned initially helped.

Liberty's Edge

Family reunion this past weekend. It's starting to scare me how much I look like my dad.

Damn it, coming up with city and nation names is tedious...

Yes. Last year I painted a map of my husband's homebrew world that he's been working on since he was ten. Even with all that work there were still huge sections of the map that were blank and he basically told me that it was up to me to name them, countries, cities, and large geographic features like mountains and lakes....which was fun for a while and then I ran out of names while I still had a whole lot of map left. This site was an invaluable help in coming up with enough names to fill in the rest of the blank spots. :)

That's why I try to make up made-up language geographical terms - means I can have four different Newcastles or Blackhills and they still look like they've got different names on the map because they're in different languages.

Hmm...
Newcastle
Nyslott
Castelnuovo
Neuschloss

I did a bunch off-the-cuff last night during a bit where Scint's character was scrying on her politically-savvy brother. I basically scrolled up and down the Romanian and Slavic section of Behind The Name and picked stuff at random, both for noble house names and territory names.

Scarab Sages

Not so good morning FAWTLY Folk! I was doing some unpacking and house organizing last night and realized I cannot find a box containing some of my most prized books: the Hobbit/LotR set I received from my grandmother, my Dune books (the ones Frank Herbert wrote, not those other ones), and my box set of other Frank Herbert novels (including my favorite, Destination: Void).

So, I freaked out for a bit and tore through pretty much every remaining box in the house, every closet, hell I even looked through the kitchen. No luck.

My big hope is that I put the box in my wife's car for safe keeping. I texted her to check that this morning. Otherwise, I've gotta hope either a joke is being played or I missed something.

Scarab Sages

Aaaaaaarrrrrgggggghhhhh!!!!!!

Scarab Sages

On the other hand, I found my "Walker Bait" coffee mug. So, there's that.

Behind the Name is awesome.

It's helped me with character names a lot, though I try not to depend on it too much.

Good morning! I hope everyone is doing well.

I bet it will turn up.

On the other hand, right before I left California I bought a giant French cookbook that I had been wanting for almost a year. Since I moved, I have not been able to find it.

I blame the ghost of Julia Child.

Don't do that.

I've been really melancholic again as of late.

Thankfully it's been easy to shake the feeling off this time.

despite my exasperating dislike for alphabet soup cop shows, I liked the actor and will miss him.

I'm sure they will turn up somewhere. In your house I mean, not in eBay.
