Here's to several bottles of water. Ladies and gentlemen, stay moist and wet.
That's ungodly.
(For the Euro-FAWTLies, that's 47*)
That's why I don't live in the desert. I don't care if its a "dry heat"; man was not meant to live in those temperatures.

Starting to gear up for student teaching this fall. Bought a pair of supportive, professional-looking shoes on sale (30% off is wonderful). Even better, these shoes are cute! Go me!
Now to go find slacks and skirts, have said slacks tailored, and maybe see about investing in a skirt suit that doesn't look dowdy.

During my teaching days I used a pair of shoes I got from brother that he'd gotten from a waiter at the restaurant he was interning at (they were too big for him and too small for the waiter) that he'd apparently bought through a shop specialising in work clothes - best damn shoes I've ever had.
Well, after my last pair of football boots - nothing beats leather shoes that have moulded themselves to your feet after you've spent a few hours sitting with them in a footbath.

I have REALLY high arches. I usually have to use inserts for extra support to keep my feet (and knees, and hips) from hurting. Most "work" shoes (even high-quality ones) just don't support enough.

In non-shoe related fashion I can report that it might be 1990 again. When I was down to the town centre yesterday I saw at least 10 youngish women sporting the baggy-sweater/hoodie-and-bicycle pants combo, and one of the guests at a music podcast I listen to had brought a single that sounded suspiciously like something Stephen Malkmus could have written.

I really have no problem with any of these things. I patiently await the second coming of Doug Hopkins.

Morning, all. What did I miss?
Well, Scott's relocation to Texas hit a slight snag when he was stopped at the boarder and checked for cowboy hat and boots. Meanwhile, Max and Gary's efforts to keep people from fleeing the northeast extended to a new system involving robotic drones and genetically modified rose bushes. And, across town, Mike realized his road trip to.....No, wait! That's my soap opera!

When does the new job start, AZ?
And are you in that much of a hurry to ditch your PA license plate and driver's license?
New job starts next Monday. But it's not so much being in a hurry to get rid of, I just figured it'd be easier to get this stuff done while I had a free week.

My FLCS is sponsoring a ladies reading group, and they're starting with Y: The Last Man. My daughter is reading all the trades now.

Kidlet's birthday is off to a good start. He got cheetos for breakfast and a new 3DS game. Off to Dave and Buster's in a bit for yet more video game fun and then a stop at the Lego store on the way home. We actually still have so many points left over from last years birthday visit to D&B that this year is virtually free. :)
It's hard to believe the kidlet is already ten. Wasn't he just turning one like yesterday?! o.O

cool. Not sure how the series works as focus for a reading group, but more power to them. I had issues with the ending.

Today I went to check out a comic book shop that I had heard had RPG products. That turned out to be false: comics, miniature, and boardgames, but no RPGs.
Next door was a crazy old-fashioned soda fountain that looked like it had been there since the 20s. I was able to get a tasty root beer float, so the trip was not a total bust.
where is this place?

What's funny is these plants aren't even the "boss fight". The PCs are still in peril, even if the cleric is no longer being crushed to death by an assassin vine.
