Electricity is some sort of weird magic which is totally unpredictable. I stay far away from it whenever possible.
The first time I got a good jolt, I accidentally grounded an electrical frying pan from my right hand hand (on the faulty metal handle) to my right thigh (touching the metal stove). I stood uncomprehending for a moment, knowing something was wrong, before I realized what it was, yanked my hand away, fell backwards to sit on the floor curled up in a ball weeping. I kept sobbing 'it tried to kill me, it tried to kill me' and truly believed it for a while. I do not like things that can do that to me.
Then there was the refrigerator with the faulty handle that zapped whoever wasn't standing on a pile of dry towels. It would be a good diet aid. I hated that thing.
Then there were a couple of things at work - leaned my forearm against a bank of low-voltage DC pins, which felt weird, and had an operator sneak up behind me and yell "BOO!" while I was working on a live power supply. I almost stabbed him with a screwdriver. That was the day I learned never to let the customer bully me into doing something dangerous.

I have a water elemental NPC that is pseudo romantically involved with the party bard, but I can't think of a good name for him. Anybody got any good suggestions?
Squishy!

I'm sorry, dear Treppa. I've had a few bad shocks myself, until black people in NY stopped living in apartments with ancient metal radiators and wall to wall shag carpeting. Not fun. At all. I could SEE the electricity arcing to my finger and leg, and it hurt worse than any mere "shock" i had ever received. If not for the incomparable beauty of my family friend's elder daughter, I would have found a reason to sit out the visits every time.

Good news! I start the Corpus Christi job in less than 70 hours. The bad news is they just let me know, and I'm trying to fix a substantial discrepancy with my bank before I go, and I've got a crap ton of other house and job prep.
*bangs head on desk*
Sorry to hear that man. Glad to hear about work though.

A woman moaning "Squishy"? I can sorta kinda see it, but I don't think it would work...

Thanks!
I try to maintain a substantial emergency fund, but this is a couple of house payments worth of discrepancy, and tax season hurt me badly. I really need to get this un f!+@ed before I leave.

Not. Going. To. Happen.

Electricity? Nah. When me and my brother were kids we found an AC power plug with lose piece of cord and put it into the socket. The lose cord was very short and lacked isolation on the very end shocking the person holding the plug... (this was part of city grid with 220V and 50 Hz)
*zap* Ay!
Let me try!
*zap* Ayy!
Now me!
*zap* Ay!
It was fun but parents took the plug from us for some strange reason...

The only electricity story I have to tell was the time I took a safety pin, put it through the holes in a plug, closed the pin, and tried to plug it in. There was a bright flash, a buzzing sound, and a smoky smell, but I didn't get zapped or anything. The outlet and plug were both a little scorched, though, and the pin was fried and broken in half. I think both plug and outlet functioned just fine afterward despite the incident, if I remember correctly.
I was in junior high at the time, and we moved out of that house when I graduated and the rest of the family came here to Tenn, so it's been quite some time and I can't remember what the plug went to at any rate.

Much like the steam systems I work on - not only will that s@!+ kill you, but it'll hurt the whole time you're dying.
The unit I'm going to tomorrow had a massive failure in the steam main just before the turbine. Fortunately it occurred as they were bringing the unit up after an emergency outage. This will be my first gas unit for boiler work. It should be interesting, but I imagine it's going to be hot and humid.

I was really just kidding. Mairkurion wouldn't fire me. I think.
That's what the last guy said, and look what happened to him.
