Nekkid welcome back - er, well this is awkward. I'm happy to see you and all but not THAT happy to see you.

I hop that FHDM's dopplganger won't stay it too long or FHDM can die of starvation while looking in fascination on that shapeshifter.

Howdy again FAWTLY Folk! Charlie had a great birthday! Just finished up with the cake and now he's getting to some presents.

Later.

To explain my earlier post, there's a new employee sitting next to my desk here at work.

And I think I'm in love. I should probably get to knowing her better before asking her out, though.

Nothing like getting two sessions in and realizing a character's motivations don't line up for the long haul.

For the campaign or for the character themself?

Character has a family. No motivation to leave for extended periods of time. My bad.

Not necessarily dear Scint. Check out the 100 reasons to leave town thread. Great ideas there.

It's unfortunate. I like the concept of reluctant hero leaving to defend the hometown from a greater threat...but he was just too reluctant.

I'm playing lizardy Indiana Jones now.

I am going to go sleep earlier today... What the hell?! 05:00 Already?! *sigh*

Yeah... a stack of 500 subscription offers to deliver we hadn't been forewarned about is exactly what I want to discover when I get to work and it's -15 Celsius.

Brrrr

So tired...

Scarab Sages

Good morning FAWTLY Folk! Happy Friday! Looks to be a kind of nasty day here in Philthadelphia, weather-wise. Calling for snow later on today, continuing through and transitioning into rain overnight, then rain tomorrow.

Poop.

My frustration is building up, and killing my joy.

...why am I so prone to melancholy in the first place, I wonder.

Scarab Sages

The wife stayed home today to spend time with the boy and her visiting parents.

Which means I was able to make it into work an hour and a half earlier than usual.

Which means I get to leave an hour and a half earlier than I had originall planned.

WOOT!!

Scarab Sages

Deadlin is approaching when I'll know whether or not the wife and I are getting furloughed. If it happens, it'll account for about a 20% reduction in pay for the new year.

Luckily, the wife and are a good about saving money. We'd have to dip into it, but it's there.

Scarab Sages

Happily, we both paid off our cars during 2012, so that's two big drains out the way right there. Biggest expenses these days are house and Charlie.

Scarab Sages

But enough about that crap - time for more coffee.

Scarab Sages

I know that feeling. -_-

Scarab Sages

MMmmm....more coffee.

Had a notice for Jury Duty when I got home the other day!

WOOT!!! Civic duty!!!

Scarab Sages

It has been awhile since I had Jury Duty. I was beginning to think they didn't love me anymore.

Welp, latest source of major irritation gone.

*sigh* It's sad when you hit just the right nerve and see a reaction that makes you lose a lot of respect for someone that quickly.

Scarab Sages

I've never been picked to serve though. Makes sad zombie is sad.

The wife has been picked twice.

Scarab Sages

Hell, I've never even gotten to the point where they interview you and ask questions. Always get dismissed before hand.

I've never had the chance to yell "HANG THAT SONOFAB%$~~".

Again, sad zombie is sad.

Because you are European?

:P

Scarab Sages

The only thing that bums me out about jury duty is that (if I recall correctly) they don't let you bring your phone in. So I'll have to find other ways to amuse myself.

Maybe bring a small note pad and write up game ideas.

Sounds like my behaviour a year ago.

I snapped at an admirer of mine and lost her respect.

Though I'm not sure if admirer would be the correct term to use.

They know you are gamer?

They know you zombie?
They know you are bloodthirsty, merciless, maniac?

Scarab Sages

I was perusing my Facebook thing this morning and saw a picture of Sir Ben Kingsley done up as Mandarin for the new Ironman 3 flick. Dude looked bad ass.

Hey! I resent that remark! I am NOT without some mercy.

Apparently, even with all the budget problems, they are moving ahead with the renovations to our building. Which means my area is going to be moved to new desks while they redo our old area.

Gee, you'd think the operational safety of the Fleet would be more important than whether or not our cubicles are shiny and new......

Scarab Sages

I really don't want to clean out my cubicle for the move. That way lies madness.

Plus, I'm pretty sure something angry is living in or under my filing drawers.

Not exactly. She said she wanted me to teach her how to write stories better after seeing my works.

I ended up flipping my **** at her on more than one occasion over elements of a written work, and she kinda blocked me off for some time.

She seems to have put it aside, but our interactions seem pretty cold nowadays. I REALLY hate it when my past actions come back to bite me years later.

Scarab Sages

Ah, f+#% it. I will not let bad news spoil my otherwise cheerful demeanor.

Scarab Sages

Funny how much crap that applies to.

Is that what they're calling it these days? Young folk are weird.

:)

Scarab Sages

I've already had three cups of coffee today. Methinks I'd best switch to water for a bit.

Scarab Sages

Also, gonna go get some s+&$ done. Later peeps.

Orthos, you're doing the right thing.

You probably already know it, but now you're backed up by science.

SCIENCE!

Yeah, I need to get better at not taking the bait.

But the shinies, they do grab me so.

One day I will be able to stick to playing a character that does not become the party face.

I need to practice being the party face a bit more.
