What are current minimal, average and expected payments in US per week (assuming no higher education or high resposibility jobs)? Is $250-300 very little, little, decent, good?

depending on where you are. In my case $10/hr for a total of $400/ wk before taxes is a moderate pay. That is also in the manufacturing world with little responsibility.
It's more about wanting to have some basic feel of earnings and costs of life in America.

Each state can set their own, and some counties or cities even have their own minimums. That could give you an idea.
But understand that in many (most?) places in the U.S., minimum wage hovers at or below the 'poverty line'. I wouldn't consider minimum wage to be a good indication of what one can reasonably live on, generally speaking..

Otherwise you would need to consider all of the details. For instance, the ratio of how often you eat at home versus going out to restaurants (even fast food places) can make large difference in how much you spend on food in a month. Or how about entertainment expenses? If you go out to clubs, or movies, or concerts, or anything like that it takes more money.
Basically, my point is that you can use minimum wages as a quick and dirty comparison. It won't account for everything, but if minimum wage in one area is $6 an hour and it's $9 an hour in another then you can probably figure that it costs more to live in area 2 than area 1.
(And, just for clarity, I make a little more than minimum wage myself but because of where and how I live, I am fairly comfortable. My main issue is that while I make enough to live on, even without a roommate, I don't have any savings. But I'm working on changing that.)
I see what you're getting at, and I agree that it's convenient shorthand. I just don't think that minimum wage in most places in the U.S. constitutes a livable wage--especially considering that most minimum wage jobs don't include health insurance.

That's moderate?! I very nearly make that on little-less-than 20 hours/week delivering newspapers. After taxes...

Minimum wage here usually means you're living with your parents or a hell of alot of roomies. Paying rent would be close to impossible. One of my friends at my second job has gone through 15 roommates in a calendar year in a three bedroom apartment. The housing market has always been bad here, but it's getting worse with certain practices. On the other side of the argument, you'd be surprised how easy it is as a person renting out a property to become a slum lord depending on what the city is responding to in force that year, and sometimes you can be arrested for even reporting your own problems to the city.

I always enjoy drinking the coffee that I brewed. These older guys, especially the ones who served in the Navy, brew coffee that can be used as a biological weapon.
I swear - one day some of it spilled on the floor, and it was like that seen from Alien when they try to cut the Facehugger off Kane's face and the acid comes out and starts eating through the hull.

Trust me, when the sun is only up for 4 hours a day, you really enjoy having some snow on the ground to keep things a lot less dark.

You just need to start a flashlight collection. I have one for every room in my house (including the bathroom and basement) as well as in my car, in my work desk, in my work bag, and in my gaming bag.
Plus a few extras, just for good measure.

My last steady job was working as a low-level laborer at a garage, and I was pulling in $8.25 per hour at 40 hours per week. I think it ended up being around $250 a week after taxes, and it was barely enough to live on. Granted, I was living by myself, and rent is brutally expensive, even in rural areas of New York State--I was paying $500 per month plus utilities for a three-room apartment with barely functioning electricity.

I love renn, but the fact that it happens during my worst allergy season is not really great. Add that to the fact that my allergies were already acting up because my son's best friend has a dog who has been shedding so my allergies were already acting up before we went to renn.....yeah, I'm thoroughly miserable.

No, just a reptile.
Cold makes me grouchy, lethargic, sleepy, and unproductive. I just end up sitting around in a blanket or heavy coat and shivering. Can't focus on writing, or reading, or whatever it is I'm trying to get done.
Heat may be uncomfortable, but it's never kept me from doing things. Just set up a fan and I'm usually good to go.

And now I'm remind of the ad a Swedish drug store ran a few years ago with low-speed camera footage of various plants shooting out their various pollens, buds, and shoots to the sound of machine guns and heavy artillery fire. According to some of my friends it was the most accurate depiction of spring they'd ever seen.
