Age is arbitrary.

Gnight Aeglos

It really doesn't bother me that much. It's a little annoying in that it makes the students a little hesitant to respect the sub because I don't look authoritative (and I am not good at projecting an aura of intimidation until I have reached my limit. That was an interesting day). But it's not as big a deal as it was the first couple of times it happened. I'm used to it. I'm resigned to being short.

Besides, I'm apparently a very quiet walker, so it helps set up halfling jokes.

Just pick a tazer out of your bag when you enter the classroom and place it on the desk. Worked every time.

Spoiler:
There's not a single part of that sentence that's not a lie.

Zombie, Sharoth;

I'm actually a New Orleans transplant. (I'm actually from Oklahoma and a couple of other states that didn't want me either.) I married a New Orleans native girl (born and raised in Kenner) and moved to the Big Sleazy when we got hitched.

I didn't realize at the time that when you marry a N.O. native, you don't leave. Ever. Unless it's for a hurricane.

Oh. Hello Katrina,... ;P

Long story short, that's how we eventually ended up in Lafayette.
:D

Night Aeglos... Huh, already to bed? It's not even 23, here... What does incoming marriage do to people :P

I like the part of the day when I can tell my nieces and nephews to go find their parents because Uncle Celestial Healer needs a nap.

New Orleans even now is a beautiful city. I was seriously thinking about moving thereUNTIL Katrina. I was there 3 months before Katrina and a month and a half after. I also got to see all the pics that our techs took of the devastation. Several of our huts and a few of our Central Offices got wiped out. The place that I lived at in Mississippi for 6 months is no longer there. Yea. Hurricanes bad.

Good vacation day today. We had a big breakfast. I manned the egg station while my brother-in-law made bacon and my sister-in-law made pancakes. I only broke one egg over-easy out of the dozen I made, which is pretty good for me. Did I mention there was bacon? It was crispier than I would have made it, but I'm not complaining.

There is a prodigious amount of alcohol available. For some reason 4 drinks a day while on vacation seems acceptable even though I would never drink that much at home.

Got a little too much sun a few days ago. Particularly on a 3 inch diameter patch on the back of my left arm which I missed with sunblock. Nothing too serious though.

One of my nephews (6 years old) has a decidedly destructive bent. He kept kicking his little brother's sand castles and making him cry. I made his day by constructing a sand city for the express purpose of letting him destroy it. He got to play Godzilla. I'm cool that way.

Heheh, THAT sounds like a good vacation day. And like your a very cool Uncle.

Yeh, I would never drink that much at home (normally. Recent events make me realize just why/how so many others turn to drink!) ;P But in vacation? I think it's a rule somewhere. ;)

Yes. Big and bad. (I was raised in Oklahoma. Tornadoes don't scare me like they should. But the thought of swimming to safety or climbing upon my roof to wait for help does frighten me a tad!)

New Orleans today? The City is nowhere near what it was. But is is much better than immediately following Katrina.

The downtown area is pretty much recovered I guess. It's the PEOPLE that has changed. A lot of the ones that left still haven't come back.

Grand Lodge

I'm on charge of quarters duty again. 24 hours of sitting around. But it gives me time to prep my maps for Shackled City this weekend!

Ah. CQ. Otherwise known as 'game night' (of course, that depended on the actual CQ sergeant. I was always the ACQ E4 b%$!% pony)

In Phoenix we called it the California Shuffle.

@Jason: When a driver shifts from one side of a multi-lane (3 minimum) street or highway all the way to the other without pause. Usually accompanied by much shouting, cursing, and honking from all the people behind them.

As a Harley rider, I call it Eventual Vehicular Manslaughter Charges.

:/

Yum, midnight dinner of potatoes and cabbage while reading paizo messageboard, listening to Omnia and writing down second submission for Wayfinder.

How could it be better?

O yeah, I know, there could be some meat with the cabbage.

Off for some more cabbage.

Yet another band to add to my list... why is all the good music in Europe?

It's because I've had no BACON this morning. Time for brain food.

I just had a BLT for lunch, does that mean I'm smart now? :)
Haven't you always been?

Depends on who you ask. I'm aware that some of my acquaintances think I'm dumb as a post. :)

(I think they're wrong, but it's a subjective sort of evaluation in any case.)

One of my posts?

As long as you brush, floss, and don't do anything to hurt your back, this is %100 true.

Can't go... not in Texas, and I'm getting married.

MAN... if you lived in San Francisco, this post would have made my day.

My life at the moment is like the last kobold on the battle-board,

Annnnnd I'm calling it quits.

Just too tired and stressed to do all the updates I should have done over the last month. (Or two) ;P

Good night. I think a few hours of sleep and a big cup of coffee afterwords will do wonders for my attitude. ;)

Night FAWTL folks!

On a serious note, is anyone ELSE having all of the problems with the boards that I have the last 2 days? It seems like EVERY time I try to log in, or find a page, or load a new page, or post, I get the 'The server you are trying to contact is taking to long to respond' error message.

Is the Paizo website actually that overloaded with all of our summer 'free' time posters? Or (and more likely) do I need to update my Firefox again? ;P

And good night for reals this time!
:)

From my local news.

Things happening in West Sweden today: Jehovas Witnesses has large meeting in Scandinavium.

Bruce Springsteen plays at Ullevi.

And there's a tractor race in Stora Lundby.

I've had no difficulty using the Paizo site, Ragadolf.

Why can't people follow simple directions? Honestly, how hard is it understand "Left out of the parking lot. Left at the stoplight. Right at the next stoplight. 1 1/2 blocks up, on the right"? I just gave these very directions to a guy, and he stared at me blankly then said "Never mind, I'll put it in my GPS."

Heheheh. When I give directions people stare blankly at me all the time.

And why bother with GPS - if a place isn't in Google Maps then it does not exist.

But you shouldn't even need a map, Google or otherwise. It's two lefts followed by two rights. It doesn't get a whole lot simpler than that.

If you see a chick dressed as Korra with a bear-dog purse, accompanied by a derpy-looking Digimon guy, you've found two of my Pathfinder players.

Puhlease. New Orleans is, always has been, and always will be a shit-hole of a city that smells like puke, piss, and stale beer.

That's part of it's charm.

Good morning FAWTLY Folk. Happy Friday! Although, from my current perspective, it's looking potentially be a rather shitty Friday.
