Guns; To Target Touch AC or Not To Target Touch AC? That Is The Question.

Regular AC, simply for the sake of balance and maintaining mechanical consistency.

One thing that I'm sure of is that if guns continue being able to pierce armor, there totally should be a 'bullet proof' armor enchantment that forces guns to hit regular AC ;)

It's not the armor that was effective, but the size of the animal. Even with a target .22 pistol, at point blank range I'll put holes through that gator all day. It just might not hurt it as much (hey look!! hp's in real life :))

The size of the animal? And no a .22 wouldn't "put holes through that gator all day." Piss him off pretty good though.

Hunt an alligator with that .22 Mr. Fishy will sell tickets.

I live in South Florida and used to do a lot of Canoeing in the Everglades. I didn't say the .22 would kill it outright, but it definitely will go through its hide. It probably won't penetrate it's skull though or reach all the way into it's heart. And since they are rather primitive creatures, that is what you need to stop them. I used to have a little snub nosed .32 and that did them just fine on the two occasions it was felt necessary to prevent an attack.

and that sir is AWESOME! you are now level 2.

Allow all of the normal bow feats to apply to guns, Normal AC is targeted, if hit within the first range increment, you suffer a debilitating condition say become dazed or something. Me personally, no guns in my games. Guns in medieval magic/fantasy world is like an elevator in an outhouse - one does not not belong wiht the other.

What you mean to say is, it's like chocolate-covered bananas. Not what you like.

Listen, if you are going to pretend guns are realistic, then having them be able to hit flat-footed AC within their asinine range is much more preferable to letting them void a dozen other in-game rules by targeting touch AC.

Touch attacks exist in game, even non-magical ones exist in game. No attack in Pathfinder, or its 3.5 roots has ever 'targeted' flatfooted AC. Flatfooted is a condition you find yourself in, such a stunned or poisoned, it isn't something you can simply target. If you really want to do that, make a feint and give a +4 bonus with a gun inside its first range increment as a move action(improve to free with improved feint).

Slightly increases "realism" , and doesn't break the game by introducing a whole new attack category.

I say we playtest the hell out of our one shot full attack method vs. normal AC.

If the Gunslinger holds its own, then I say we leave it at full AC.

I don't want to ruin your fun here, but as it says in the playtest document, this ship has already sailed.
