About Daniel Gunther 346
Favorite Saying: The sun shines on a dogs ass every once in awhile
Personal philosophy: If you are not being challenged to the utmost of your capabilities, then the end result is worthless.
I am old school gamer, with the idea that rules are meant to be discarded or bent in the face of running a game that suits your group. Find that D&D/Fantasy style games, for the most part don't hold as much enjoyment for me anymore as those that are set more in a Science Fiction setting sans magic. Admittedly take sword and sorcery and put it in the real world the way Jim Butcher has with the Dresden Files, and I'm hooked.
Preferred setting: 2E Darksun or my own Homebrew setting Scratia.
Preferred Class: Thief (2E), Monk 3E/d20, Jedi or Scoundrel for Star Wars
Longest run character: Tormai Dagon, originated in WEG d6 Star Wars, have not been able to faithfully translate and adapt him to d20. Though Star Wars Saga has come close.
Mechanics are not as important to me as running a smooth session where everyone has fun. Any and all rules disputes are handled immediately following the session, NEVER during the session. Players that are more focused on how they are building there character, planning out level builds from 1st all the way to 20th level, looking for the most optimized feat combo, baffles me. To each there own. The great thing about gaming is that there is something for everyone!
