So this over laps with my gunslinger playtest, as it's the same group.
The group is currently 8th level in the city of seven spears.
Here's the group:
Witch
Gunslinger
Magus
Rage Prophet
Ronin
We had an inquisitor but we dropped it because now that carrion crown will be out the character concept is so much cooler for that AP, the player wanted to "save it" and the gunslinger has the same role/feel for this current AP.
here is the basis:
So our fight consists of a combat with another adventuring party encroaching on our lost city, so we actually spot them from far away (magus w/ familiar and ranger tied on the perception) and they havent noticed us
So we wet up an ambush:
We maneuver around and find an area they are heading into, its mainly city street with lots of vine and sort of a guantlet of sorts. PErfect for our ambush.
The witch casts invisbility on the Ronin.
The ronin stays still and lets the bad guys pass him.
The magus and the witch are set up as "the road block"
The rage prophet is set up on one flank to come out of stealth and attack a spell caster directly
The Gunslinger is set up ontop of a building on the other flank.
In comes the bad guys,
An Assassin, A Cleric, A Fighter, A wizard and A Rogue.
We had a hard time telling the difference between the rogue and assassin and the fighter and the cleric for most of the combat, we just started referring to them as this when the fight was over and we were rolling them for goodies.
The gunslinger opens combat (best init) but because he is on top of a building, the height factored into the range keeps him out of touch Ac range, two misses (one of them a misfire) and one hit on the wizard for 9 damage.
Rage prophet holds action.
Witch sends in her familiar to deliver a touch attack and readies her bow
Magus does the same exact thing.
Ronin does not act in surprise round, other than to walk his horse out into the middle of the road and ready his bow.
We still dont know bad guy capabilities yet, two guys in heavy armor, two guys in light armor, one guy in robes. Attacks are on the obvious wizard first.
Top of the round.
We go first.
Gunslinger drops the misfired pistol (and other pistols)
Pulls out a pistol on wizard, fires, targeting head, burns grit, and hits. Wizard is confused.
magus and witch familiars maneuver in and land touch attacks (touch of idiocy for the witch, shocking grasp for the magus) the wizard takes 25 damage.
Rage prophet rages and attacks the wizard on a charge, cleaning his clock, wizard goes down.
Ronin Shoots his bow (revealing himself and lands an arrow in the back of the rogue. for 8.
Witch and Magus fire their bows at the lead person (assassin) drilling her both times 6 and 9.
rogue decides the odds are heavy in front, and runs at ronin on horse with bow.
Cleric attacks rage prophet
Fighter moves to attack rage prophet
Assassin moves for cover (archers are still concealed)
with the two combatants on the rage prophet and both heavy armor types, the gunslinger attempts to jump down off the one story building he is on, Lightening reload and let one of them have it at close range.
Succeeds, gets a grit point back (daring act) burns a grit point targeting torso, poof a crit (would be another grit but cant go over max, lame)
cleric takes 4d8+16 damage to the spine... 36 damage.
Rage prophet ends the clerics career early with an axe to the skully.
(his short sword misses the fighter)
Magus and Witch miss the fighter with three arrows. He's got a high AC, sword and shield.
The Ronin Hits the rogue again with his bow, twice, on his way in, damaged pretty well (18 more damage from arrows) the rogue decides to run by him.
Quick draw with his weapon of choice (weapon expertise) Katana, the Ronin lands his AoO on the rogue for 15 damage.
Rogue goes down.
The assassin has maneuvered to close to where she thinks the archers are and the magus spots this and switches over to his falcata.
The witch doesn't notice the assassin.
Fighter swings at gunslinger and hits 21 damage ouch!
The Gunslinger 5 foot steps, drops pistol, draws another pistol and fires close range at the fighter, misfire, how disappointing. he could only miss with a one.... misfire...
The rage prophet attacks the fighter, missing twice.
The witch hobbles the fighter. but he saved.
Assassin attacks the witch, sneak attack 36 damage.
The magus moves up and spellstrikes the assassin with shocking grasp on his enhanced keen falcata landing a blow for 41 damage.
Meanwhile, the ronin knees his mount forward, bow in one hand katana in the other, rides up to the fighter and slashes at him with the katana, (which is a shatter spike) sundering his sword.
HaH! how very katana like!
The fighter, now weaponless, shield bashes the gunslinger for 9 points of damage, knocking him down (some sort of bullrush related feat) 5 foot steps and draws a dagger.
Rage prophet 5 foot steps and full attacks, missing again.
Gunslinger quick draws another pistol (rather than spend the grit to quick clear) and fires using vital strike. Hit, 2d8 +8 he gets 20 damage.
Ronin rides in, and sunders the fighters shield.
Doesnt quite get all the way through.
Witch uses banhsee wail to bullrush the assassin away from her, it works.
Magus closes distance and spellstrikes again hitting for 29.
Assassin uses rogue crawl (as shes knocked down) then stands.
Fighter pushes his luck and decides to out run everyone.
AoO's all miss, the fighter can out run the dwarf and his High AC worked well against the AoO.
Fighter is running down the street in the direction he came.
Gunslinger lightening reloads (from his arse) and fires, but the fighter is already out of touch AC range and he misses.
The Ronin just knees his horse, catches up to the fighter and finishes sundering his shield.
The dwarf is mad as all heck because his kill is running away faster than his stunty little legs can carry him. no fair! (then remembers he's got fast move, it was pretty funny)
Dwarf chases after the fighter.
Magus lightening bolts the assassin dropping her.
Witch heals her self.
Ronin, on horse, uninjured, rides ahead of fighter. Throws out a +1 longsword he happened to have as treasure, dismounts and issues a challenge.
fighter moves up and retrieves +1 longsword.
Witch moves out and casts charm hex on raging dwarf to stop him, but dwarf makes save (was pretty funny, wait! no I said stop!)
Gunslinger stands and picks up guns, begins clearing the misfired one.
Magus searches assassins body.
Ronin Holds action, allows fighter to go first.
Fighter moves and swings sword, hit for 12 damage.
Ronin attacks, full attack with two handed katana 18 damage on the first attack, misses on the second, hes thinking about taking vital strike as his next feat.
Raging dwarf comes barreling in to ruin duel and connects with his dwarf axe, 12 damage.
Fighter full attacks dagger misses the dwarf, longsword misses the ronin.
Ronin misses with his katana twice again.
Dwarf misses twice, Fighter misses Twice.
Ronin misses again, twice,
Gun fighter sick of the battle or high AC
walks up to 20 feet and lets the fighter have it with two shots.
both touch AC
hit and crit. (improved crit and targeting torso)
vital strike on one was 2d8+4 for 18 and the crit for 4d8+16 is 36, he drops the fighter.
We thought the Ronin would get alot of chance to ride around and bow alot, but it just didnt work that way.
Still he was very ronin-like with or without his horse.

looks like fun and I thought the duel bit with the ronin was neat but question. how did the gunslinger get multiple attacks in a round with vital strike.
It took a while till I saw it but you are right, he did use a Vital Strike and made another attack the same turn. That defeats the point of Vital Strike.
Vital Strike you make a single attack as a standard action. Period.
EDIT: Also, you ran out of Grit. You have 14 wisdom, only 2 Grit.
You opened with the targetted confuse, 1 Grit, you're at 1. Then you did your daring maneuver and Lightning Reloaded, 0 back up to 1. Then you Targetted, 0 then critted, 1. Then you Lightning reloaded, 0.
At that point you had 0 Grit, you couldn't of Targetted at the end.

Oh I see it, where the 'slinger shot the fighter with TWF, used the vital strike to burn the iterative attack, but then wouldnt have gotten the other handed pistol?
The way we have always used vital strike is that it uses your iterative, (combining two attacks into one, using the better attack bonus) which usually won't hit anyway.
But it doesnt specifically say that you are doing a full round action, so in a full attack you are shooting once using vital strike (sacrificing the iterative attack) and then shooting with your off hand pistol for the other attack. I guess we never read it too closely, the wording is kind of funky isnt it?
Huh how about that.
We've always thought about it as sacrificing the +1 (in the 6/1) to do better damage with the 6.
seems worthless for a TWFer to have vital strike then don't it?
Guess ive always had vital strike for fighter with shield so i never had to think about it before.
With that in mind. think we'll have him take either deft shooter or extra grit.
Deadly aim seems useless you cant use it for touch AC but at farther ranges you can use it but its harder to hit, so why trade off the 'to hit you need'
On the other hand vital strike Is useful for when you can't full attack....
Decisions Decisions.
Btw
We realized when the Gunslinger was made, he never got his preferred class bonus, so we put that in skills and he didnt need the 14 int anymore, so we moved it over to wis, which, with the +2 human bonus is 16, so he has three grit. Actually it's a she now, cuz my daughter is running it instead of her inquisitor.
I made mistakes making it, because I did it last minute and I almost never make characters that don't start out 1st level, but this party was already running.
So her Name is "Dusty Fox"
I think we will have her take extra Grit, now that I think about it.
that will giver her 5 grit.
Let's see how that plays out.
Dropping the Vital Strike for 2 more grit.... (we can always put it back i guess) the combo of targeting torso and improved crit seems to be the only way to really do some damage with this class so far. With the crit at 17-20 and the touch AC making it so easy to confirm, this seems to be the 'ticket'.
