Which one would you rather play

Gunslinger Discussion: Round 1

Not to put a member of these boards on the spot

but who would rather use this

http://paizo.com/paizo/messageboards/paizoPublishing/pathfinder/pathfinderR PG/houseRules/archives/theGunslingerHomebrewClassBasedOnTheDarkTowerSeries& amp;page=1#24

As the base for a firearms class rather than the playtest?

aside from the obvious copyright concerns obviously.

I feel that I should have been Rick Roll'd...the 'Allo plush was where that URL took me.

Hmm lets try this one

My url-fu is very weak, sorry bout that.

This class you linked to seems like its a base class not a Alternate Class
And I dont see all gunslingers as being lawful last time I checked most gun slingers died from a shot in the back from a fellow shootist who knew they were not as good with the gun

Good feedback but dosent answer the question I posed. Which set of mechanics would you rather use?

This class is entirely based on the Gunslingers of Gilead but holy crap is this superior to the Gunslinger.

I'd take this in a heartbeat.

Not a fair comparison really...
Setting specific vs generic gunslinger.

But even if I had not ever read the DT series...on paper...I'd still go with the DT Gunslinger.
More flavor, less stress.

I will give on the setting issue, but I think you are getting at the point I am trying to make: more flavor, less stress sums it up super well

I love Kolo's take on the DT gunslinger.

I'm gonna take a look at making a 'slinger archtype for the inquisitor.
I think that would do more to make a better PF gunslinger...

Well...I would probably play the linked homebrew class, but I am sort of biased. And yes obviously it is setting specific but the Archtype Roland and his comrades represent could be ported to just about any setting that has revolvers in it. The Dark Tower gunslingers are essentially mideval knights with guns with a slight flavor twist.
