Ideas for new firearms enhancements

Gunslinger Discussion: Round 1

Post your ideas for new firearm enhancements here !

Non-magic Weapon Special Quality:

Rifled
The firearm's barrel's interior is rifled, giving it better precision and accuracy. The firearm's range increment increases by 20 feet. It costs 150 gp to add this enhancement to any masterwork firearm.

Multi-barrelled
The firearm has additional barrels surrounding its regular one. When loaded, the user can shoot one additional time before reloading. Each barrel must be loaded separately. Rapid Reload allows a user to reload 2 barrels as a move-action, 3 as a standard action and 4 as a full-round action. It costs 200 gp per barrel to add this enhancement to any masterwork firearm, and one-handed firearms have a limit of 5 additional barrels and two-handed weapons have a limit of 11 additional barrels.

Magic Weapon Special Quality:

Everloaded
A firearm with this property never needs to be loaded and can be fired up to the user's full number of attacks each round.

Moderate transmutation; CL 9th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, fabricate, creator must be a grit user; Price +2 bonus.

Sorry, just noticed your postings.

Multi-barrelled should cost more? Since it's not just a second barrel machined out of the original block of metal, but generally a second, separate fiddly and costly trigger/ignition etc mechanism as well.

The advantage, of course, is two consecutive shots with no need to reload, nor re-aim. :)

"Ever load" should be a property imbued to a holster, not the gun itself. I feel it's both in keeping with the Bags of holding, handy haversack. Plus it limits lack powder machine guns. ;)

Of course, the big tech difference would be 'cartridged ammunition'. A systematic and trustworthy method of having a brass cartridge around the powder allowed for a LOT of the development into what became modern guns.

Might I also suggest looking into "Iron Kingdoms"? That is a Steam Punk setting with magic and guns.

Just some thoughts.

*imagining a twelve-barreled rifle* Now, that's badass...

@Everloaded: You should add: "The bullets created by the firearm matches it enhancement, but have no others properties. The use can still reload the gun with specific ammunition if he desires."

So it commonly shoots regular ammunition, but you have to reload your adamantine bullets normally if you want to damage that iron golem.
