Ninja Death Attack

Ninja Discussion: Round 1

High- like this ability, thematic!

Is it too good?
Should ability focus be allowed?
Should a rogue be able to take it?

Pretty much makes the assasin PRC useless.

Assassins have HiPS and anti-resurrection abilities.

I'm fine with it because one should not take a prestige class for a feature that belongs to his archetype. This is why annoys me rogues must dip in shadowdancer for HiPS.

Kaiyan I am going to say that is the biggest farse I have ever heard.

HIPS all of a sudden is better than invisibility and Invisible blade the talent?

hardly. Not to mention the Anti-resurrection stuff is a load of crap anyways. You have to hide the body to not get caught, why not just burn it so it requires a true resurrection anyways.

dont get me wrong the assassin sucks way worse than he should but still the arguement that assassins dont pale in comparison to that ability is just ludicrous, especially with the specifications death attack has to meet and assassinate does not.

I agree with Midnightoker. The Assassin already got cut down three pegs when they lost their spells. It seems to me that by giving the Ninja access to a 'death attack' -- even if it's slightly different -- Paizo has made it impossible to justify taking any levels in the Assassin prestige class.

This, at the very least, annoys me. At the very worst, it reminds me of what Wizards of the Coast started doing near the end of 3rd, and by that I mean: publishing content that made previous content underpowered and irrelevant.

Invisibility and stealth have a lot of overlappingg uses, but are not the same thing, expecially at high levels.

The sucky-tude of assassin PrC has NOTHING to do with the fact that a class (ninja in this case) should be able to accomplish what is written on the tin.

I agree with Kaiyanwang. From level 10 on invisibility can often be countered easily by monsters. Stealth is more difficult to beat. That is why Hips and Hellcat stealth are so awful. I took Hellcat stealth with my ninja too for example and hey, my stealth bonus is 33 on level 10. So find me if you can haha.

you guys have a list of the new ninja class abilities so this discussion comes into focus?
