I see a lot of people who had computer issues in the Critique My Item thread. I cannot say enough good things about getting a Google Docs account for RPG Superstar. Your item is available from any internet connected computer anywhere, your work is not bound to a single place and it's free!

I'm using it regularly now and it's a great tool for this sort of contest.

That's all I have to say. Anyone else have good RPG Superstar tips?

Be AWESOME ;)

Really. If you manage to loose your item in 1 month, imagine what happened if you lost it just before you wanted to submit your draft. Having multiple copies and online copies are good failsaves.

I tried to use it but it is blocked from my work network which is how I get my internets.

As for tips, have someone who doesn't play proofread your entry.

Shadow Lodge

Not sure if would help with your work situation Thomas but Drop Box is a nice service that works across multiple computers, mobile phones, and the internet. The basic service is 2 GB of storage and is free.

Second both Dropbox and Google Docs. They are my friends.

I can't agree more! I have no one to blame but myself that my copy of my item doesn't *quite* match the one I entered. Making changes in the submission window at the last minute wasn't the best thing, but forgetting to copy it to my googledocs file was worse. Lesson learned.

Google Docs has been a great help to me with my submissions and PBP games. I love that I can access anything I want from any computer, so I can work on stuff from home, work, or a friends house. Also the ability to have multiple people looking and editing a document at the same time is too cool.
