I guess we could just nuke all White Castles in the US - that will force Erik Mona to leave the country in search for his fav food !

You folks all need to get time machines like the one I've been using.

Contest Spoiler:
Round 2 is awesome.

I would dig a tunnel and try the gargantuan über plumber to suck all of paizo to europe

;)

I have been running in circles as fast as I can and think I am actually accellerating the rotation of the plannet.

I think my desk IS a time machine

Everytime I sit down and stand up again, 8 hours are gone without notable things happening in between.

;)

EDIT: Just had an intriguing idea for next year's wondrous item: the desk of inevitable "nothing-happened-time-catapultation".

Liberty's Edge

10 (almost) hours left. No I didn't enter this year, but I still like to count.

@Nerrat: Why not? Your items for the last 2 years were really good, I think you would have had a real shot this year.

Liberty's Edge

I wrote 14,000 words this November in a super-awesome fantasy adventure novel for a class project. That's the only excuse I can conjure up (but it's true!)

Ok, I think I'll let that slip. But only this one time ;)

8 Hours

Liberty's Edge

Absolute torture! Have to work all day, and still wait once I get home to find out! :(

Yay central time is 1:1 to my time! only 7 more hours to go, and no sleep lost :D

(unless I make it to top 32... in which case I have some writing to do...)

Nail-biting tension is ridiculous! I'm off to get drunk :-)

Though, there's a zillion to one chance that means I will lose time on my Archetype... what the hell. Guinness is an archetype too!

Four and a half hours...

Spoiler:

Why is it when I make these posts I can't help but have the Count's voice (from Sesame Street) echoing in my head? Five hours!...Hah, hah, hah!...Four hours!...Hah, hah, hah!...

I've been rather calm about it.. Until today. Now I'm all antsy, and semi-working on my archetype that I finally decided upon. I promised my players should I get into the top 32, my item would certainly make itself known immediately in my games. Heh.

I'll only see the results tomorrow. Though I'll stay up til then... :P

I'm burning with anticipation. Quite literally, I have a fever. I even had a weird dream about RPG Superstar. :D

you guys just need to change the time zone on your computers. Then it will be time sooner

4 hours, or enough time to make a bowl of popcorn and watch Lawrence of Arabia.

Is it because you're secretly a vampire puppet?

Because that would explain, like, three and a half things.

I hereby request the wondrous item submission form announcing word counts in the voice of the Count as a feature for next year.

Work just canceled due to the snow storm. So nothing to do today but have a hot coffee and work on my grad homework until 5pm Eastern time to see the results. Then chillax with a beer and cigar while I read through the top 32.

No need to under-play it, man;

Not only have I told my players they might see my entry and all my other ideas that I didn't enter, I've noted a slew of past years' entries for use in my home game (with the appropriate gratitude to their creators), whether or not if they were accepted as top-32 or if their creator advanced any further.

As long as you don't attempt to publish any nicked material commercially or profit from it in any way, I see it as a great idea-sharing resource to be among fellow GMs, being witness to other sources of "campaign flavor" and gaining new ideas through collaboration.

If anyone objects to other GMs using a wondrous item that someone else created in their own home game, please, do speak up.

From my perspective, the best compliment you can give a designer is to use something they created in your game. Anyone who objects to that is either crazy or a lawyer. And in this case I don't think even the lawyers object.

Just under 4 hours left....

No. But...

Spoiler:

...I did just turn in my manuscript for "Ashes at Dawn"...i.e., the vampire-themed adventure for Carrion Crown.

...and, I watched the movie Blade last night.

That. Is an awesome idea.

I'm going to do that most likely. It would be foolish almost not to. Even if I don't get in the 32, I think it would be an honor knowing my item is already being used in games. So, perhaps the winners would enjoy knowing that as well.

Contributor, RPG Superstar 2009, RPG Superstar Judgernaut

Coming up on three and a half hours now...

You can cut the tension with a knife!

Spoiler:

And no, that's not a wondrous item...

Dark Archive Star Voter Season 6

will it all be worth it... i wonder

Neil, how can you have time to write the count down posts? Shouldn't you be tallying votes or something?

Oh the IT guys have to post the winners' entries, etc. You're done.

Can you at least confirm that I didn't make the cut?

  • Spoiler:
    I didn't enter this year.

  • Spoiler:
    But it's still a trap.

Well... less than 3 and a half hours to go...

And what bites for me, I have to work tonight from 5pm - 9pm. :(

So I won't get to find out until about 9:30pm. (Although, at that point, this site should be "less cluttered" and I could hop on and see who's who in the 32). ;)

Or... I could check my email first... then hop on here.

Decisions, decisions.

Best of Luck to my fellow contestants!

what about a knife that could cut through tension as a free action?

hmm I don't know Neil, I think the "Tension Cutter" would make an excellent wondrous magic item!

on that note I am crawling out of my skin to see the results!!

I've been tallying the comments of the guest judges. Does that count? :-)

Correct. We wrapped up our part on Thursday or Friday of last week. It's all a blur. I honestly don't remember.

Yeah, I'd hate to threadjack this super important and informative thread. :P

Seriously, I want to hear about this novel too. Is it posted anywhere?

3 hours and 6 minutes left to go. Enough time to take a nice hot shower and beat Portal going at a moderate pace.
