Asami lashes out with her glaive yet again, but is unable to gain purchase on the constructs thick armor as Kyroden swings his mace menacingly in the air. In another flurry of arrows, Jory sinks a couple of arrows into various grooves and joints of the construct, but neither of which go too deeply.

Leil lays on the ground, her wounds slowly closing back up as Karos fires a shot at the construct over her, the shot hitting squarely but flattening against the armored plating and dropping harmlessly to the ground next to Leil's unconscious body.

Okay! I doubt Leil will be posting before midnight since they're playing Carrion Crown right now, so let's get those constructs out of the way, yea?
The robot over Leil looks down at the prone woman who has just regained consciousness and jabs it's spear down at the groggy woman. At the last minute, she is able to move out of the way of the electrified tip of the spear, but just barely.
On the other side of the room, the other construct seems to halt in it's tracks for a moment, all of it's scratches and dent's repairing themselves and the arrows being ejected out of the gaps between it's armored plates. Just as suddenly, it turn's it's gaze back to the dwarf with the bow.
Party's up! Critters will act again on Sunday night(ish). Dunno about the whole smelling salts on the unconscious and near death fighter next to the intelligent construct thing, but hey! Looks like it kinda worked! For now!

Hey, if you're going to die, at least die awake! Retreating is also still an option. I really don't have any offensive options against constructs. And then we can sneak past them. Somehow. Or at least find an alternative entrance. That's what Azeban is good at. This place has windows, right? At the very least a backdoor.

Aww, my post got eaten somehow.
In another hail of arrows, Jory manages to barely sink another arrow a spot between two sections of armor plating of the construct next to him as Asami waves her glaive threateningly at it. Azeban moves into the corner to figure out why they're attacking, but can't seem to sense any sort of enchantment guiding the constructs. Perhaps they're just doing what they're programmed to do...

Downing a vile looking concoction, Kyroden takes a step towards the downed Leil as the constructs move into action.
The one standing over Leil moves in a round about way to maneuver between the doors and the majority of the party before sending it's spear towards Kyroden, who is able to slip below the electrified tip at the last second. Azeban starts an ominous chant and dark mist starts to gather south of the first construct, growing in time with the sorcerer's hand movements. It steadily rises until they gather at one point, a being of shadow forming in an instant. It is humanoid, with bat-like wings, but any details are lost in its dark form, indistinct. Only the creature's black teeth and claws are clear, but even those are shadowed.
Casting Silent Image. Spellcraft DC to identify is 17, failure by 5 or more means belief that it is Summon Monster VI. Illusion is a Shadow Demon. Will DC 15 to disbelieve when interacted with.
It hovers in the air behind the first construct, silent, before moving with a strange weightless grace. It outright ignores the construct before it and passes by the second to flank it, seemingly unconcerned by any intention of attack.
The shadow demon will attempt to trigger their AoOs, moving by both constructs. I've marked the path with the square being the end point.

![]() |

Jory sees the spell and appreciates the cunning of the mage--he hopes the constructs can sense the shadowy form.
He retreats out of the building to get some distance. The golems did not have any missile weapons he could see. From a distance, he could pick them off at his leisure as long as he had enough arrows.

GM Kim |

From his current position, Jory can't see the construct he was previously attacking, as it's behind a wall. He can only see the other construct currently, which has cover from Jory, but like you said, he has improved precise shot, so that doesn't matter.

![]() |

Assuming that -3 in that attack roll is my energy resistance, than it should really be -5 since I have electric resistance 5.
I'm fairly certain it shouldn't be dealing that much damage even with resistance but ok.
Asami drops her glaive as a free action, swift action uses Lay on Hands, and takes out her rope (I think its a move action?) before attempting to grapple the nearest construct.
Unsure what the correct role here is. Is the rope an improvised weapon etc etc.
Lay on Hands: 1d6 + 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 2 + 1 = 10
I heal 10.

GM Kim |

It's -3 because there was only 3 electrical damage. The d6 was the electrical damage, so the only way for them to do any electrical damage to you is to roll a 6 on the d6. The d8 is the spear damage, the +5 comes from their strength, feats, weapon bonuses, etc., and the +4 from power attacking. That's why it was only -3. If I rolled a 4, it would've been a -4, instead, or a -5 if I rolled a 5 or 6, and so on. Basically I just added the minus after I saw previewed what the roll ended up being.
Pulling the rope out would provoke an Attack of Opportunity (unless you have a handy haversack), as well, and yes, it would be a move action, so are you sure you want to pull the rope out right next to the construct?
I'm not really sure what you want to do with the rope, right now, though... generally you use it after you pin your target (grappling) to tie them up (combat maneuver check at -10 against a pinned opponent). So I'm guessing you're just getting the rope ready, and would make a normal grapple check. If you're bothering to get the rope out.

Nevermind I just won't bother. The way this encounter is being written / run gives us no chance at winning this.
Withdraw as a full rnd action, and just leave the building. Might just have to fail this one since WBL wise we have nothing. If we were human this would be a total TPK by now...

![]() |

One trip to town and we can buy things that will affect it--tanglefoot bags, scroll of grease, etc. I can buy the adamantine arrows. Jory has been played realistically, all his arrows have been bought as a reaction to creatures he has faced. Never fought a true construct, so never needed adamantine yet.

Fast healing ticks, puts Leil at 1HP. Total defense, which counters the prone penalty, leaving her at AC 18 for melee. Ready an action to retrieve potion at such time as she isn't threatened.

Jory fires a volley of arrows into the well lit room from outside, one of his arrows finding some purchase on the construct. Asami heals herself and then dashes out the door towards Jory. Leil finally opens her eyes, taking in the scene above her and readies herself for any attacks coming her way as Kyroden traces a runic hex upon her, calling forth a warm light that stitches some of her wounds together.

Kyroden, I don't know why you can't see the map right now. You should be smack dab in the middle of the map and a little below, or real close to it. Try zooming out, and then see if you can't see it from there. There's currently no route you can take that won't avoid attacks of opportunity, if that's what you mean.
