I have recently been playing a low charisma dwarf rogue and let me tell you it's been a blast. I love being silly and doing ill advised social interactions. Just a complete vanilla look on his face all the time until he realizes what every else is talking about is hilarious.
This dwarf has a charisma of 5 and has been near catatonic many times due to charisma damage (from drugs lol). All of the players and all but 1 character loves my character and thinks he's great.
So why does everyone hate low charisma.... it's hilariously awesome.... and fun!

It's a blast if role played well in a supportive group that can make up for someone's lack of charisma. I'm surprised that as a rogue your group isn't a bit more upset at the fact that such a low charisma affects some (sometimes) important rogue skills like Bluff, and Disguise.
In my experience any well played group can make up for each other's shortcomings through excellent role playing. On the other hand, people who take their gaming a little too seriously will tend to get rabidly upset at someone that hampers their ability to quickly level up, defeat every monster they see, and or drain every ounce of treasure out of a campaign. Obviously your group is having fun, and still meeting their personal gaming goals. Kudos! Keep having fun, and cherish the group that cherishes your character's "faults."

I love dumping CHA as it allows me to jack up other abilities.

My thief has this feat:
"Alternate Key Ability [General] (Source: Tests of Skill v3.5)
This feat allows a character to approach the performance of certain skills in a different way than most people.
Benefit: A character with this feat can substitute one physical or one mental key ability for another for purposes of skill checks. For example, an Expert craftsman could opt to use her Wis score instead of her Int score for skills normally governed by Intelligence, such as Craft and Search. Or, a Rogue might choose to substitute Dex for skills keyed to Str, such as Climb and Swim.
Special: This feat can be taken multiple times to affect different combinations of physical or mental ability scores."
...so skills that would be CHA-based are WIS-based for him.
