I just recently switched over to Pathfinder. I hadn't thought of it until today but are there any Pathfinder rules for playing psionic characters?
Short answer: Yes, just do some conversion work on the XPH.
Longer version: Psionics has snuck into Golarion, both in the campaign setting and in Into the Darklands. There's no official 'Psifinder' rules put out by Paizo, though Dreamscarred press is currently in beta for their PFRPG compatible psionics rules. (disclaimer, I've not had the time to contribute to their beta, but a bunch of these folks were on the Mind's Eye team, so I know they do good work).
TPTBPaizo have said that any work on psionic offical rules are far in the future, I'd guesstimate 2014 at the earliest. (based on Tian Xia being 2011, and also a desire to see epic rules of somesort).

Psionics Unleashed from Dreamscarred Press is shaping up to be pretty much the definitive conversion of the XPH to Pathfinder.
Sounds sad to me, since I always hated the XPH Psionics and if converted to pathfinder I'd rather have seen it changed (either more like Warlock in 3.5 or more vacian like spell casting.)

This has been debated a lot.
At the end of the day, the whole point of including official psionics would be for the psionics fans who desperately want them, and they wouldn't (for the most part) like a system that isn't backward compatible.
A lot of other Pathfinder players do not like psionics and wouldn't like to see the old system introduced. Some just don't want any psionics system, other's don't care what you call it as long as it is not what the 3.5 system is.
You will never please both groups, ever. So if you like the old 3.5 system psionics, use Dreamscared Press. If you don't, then don't.

Wait wait wait... Tian Xia in 2011? How the heck did I miss that?!?!

It has also been said, unofficially, that any 'psionics' rules they release will likely be 'mind magic' and not use the word 'psionics' or the classes from 3.5 psionics. In other words, it's a system the psionics lovers can run alongside the DSP version without ruffling their feathers, and it's a version the psionics haters can run with and enjoy.
Best of both worlds for both sides!

DSP? Where has this been said, because I love this idea (of "if-when Paizo does it they do it right" where right means less like the 3.5 way and more like magic.)

DSP = DreamScarredPress.
Book bought, now Blue Hermit needs PDF, badly.

It was bandied about in one of the other threads on psionics. It wasn't a decision made in stone, just a 'likely suggestion' they came up with in the course of the discussion. What they make will not be 'psionics done right' as much as 'another magic system we can bolt on more easily than 3.5 psionics'. I know some people don't like the 3.5 system, although it was based on previous systems and psionics themselves have used power points since day one, and that's cool by me - but I do like it, and I want to play it, and I don't want anything saying I can't do it that way ...
It seems DSP's first print run of Psionics Unleashed was a complete sell-out, too.
