I'm kind with Loki on this one. Just pull up stakes and call it a loss Hela.

What does she have to lose at this point?

Fyre,

Other than pride? Nothing.

Loki's looking sad because he has to come up with a scheme to kill his daughter.

Loki's version of parenting reminds me of this poem

They f@$* you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.

But they were f@@&ed up in their turn
By fools in old-style hats and coats,
Who half the time were soppy-stern
And half at one another’s throats.

Man hands on misery to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can,
And don’t have any kids yourself.

And, he is likely aware that he is responsible. His bet with Hel is what forced her into this situation.

And, now he must murder her to fix it.

Well it wouldn't be the first time Loki's done some morally questionable decisions. I doubt this will be the last.

It also wouldn't be the first time he has had regrets about the consequences of his bets (see the story of Sleipnir).

Fyre,

This is true also.

Was really expecting a "You're not the Boss of Me DAD!!!"

Some how I don't see Hela pulling off a Mean Girls thing.

1177 - Role Reversal

Loki would put on a good show for it, too.

Well like I said, he's Loki. Trust him to do the right thing is like expecting a lightning bolt to hit a bad guy...

Liberty's Edge

So, that's why she turned even more deathly pale and nigh ghostly.

High stakes are harsh when you lose. And it seems that hubris strikes down even the gods themselves.

Pray to Thor. Just in case.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Raven,

I pray to Thor all the time. So far he's only hit people I don't know or probably might like...

So yeah, for that brief instance I could have sworn George Michael showed up for a brief second on the one panel...

Oh Elan..

3 people marked this as a favorite.

It is so awesome to have an excuse as an author to do good chapter breaks. Elan is a gift.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Elan is a gift but so is Thor and Loki. :)

"...the occasional limping elf." Heh heh.

All I know is I'm glad I'm staying away from the convention...

The shower cleric got the worst job.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Well like I said, it's a convention in the worst possible way, Vid...

Love the Treeslayers' mounts - Beaver and Woodpecker

:D

Also how bored/brave are you that you that you are playing cards with the HIGH PRIEST of LOKI?!!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Baron,

I dunno about brave but probably should be careful about those perception/sense motive checks...

As Fitting, someone on the GiTP boards already built the treeslayer class :)

The other players are the high priests of Mani, god of the Moon, Skadi, goddess of the hunt, and Freyr, god of prosperity.

Pretty bored, I would say.

With compulsory brightly colored mohawk, I hope.

Like that other game :-D

A new type of class shaming!

Do we already know Minrah's classes?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Drinking and taking on new party members! Classic OotS. Also yes, Tri, great come back line.

Silver Crusade

I didn't realize Minrah was a multi-class fighter. I thought she was just a low level cleric.

V is wary of Belkar getting drunk considering what happened during the last bender..

Well maybe this time V will get some enchantments going along with the old stand by...

No multi-class shaming but you multi-classed from cleric to fighter... Must resist shaming...

Sweet. A little bittersweet, but yes, sweet.

Nice last panel. Let's give them some space and time.

The warrior departing from his hearth.

Did they just slap a 'Two days from retirement' sign on Durkon?

Completely agreed. The dialogue in the last panel was exactly what needed to be said (yes, I'm referring to both the "no words whatsoever" and the volumes spoken by Durkon's smile).

Some times the best sounds are the ones you hear in your head.

Also I keep wondering if baby Kudzu won't take after dad and try that "damn fool crusade" thing. ;)

As long as he doesn't say "I'm getting too old for this s*~!!" he should be fine.

~laughter~ Go Belkar!!!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

More Drunk Roy bonding with Drunk Belkar, please.

Oh dang, I hope the next few strips are the other party members Drunk bonding with each other! Drunk V bonding with Drunk Durkon and Drunk Haley bonding with Drunk Elan seems like the obvious pairings, but maybe we'll get lucky and see Drunk V bonding with Drunk Elan and Drunk Haley bonding with Drunk Durkon, which aren't pairings we see very often!

Silver Crusade

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Durkon's busy elsewhere, and I can't imagine V getting drunk.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

This is why you don't let the fighter and the halfling get drunk together...
