Grand Lodge 5/5

We had an amazing time in Vegas!
This was my first Neon, and it was worth every bit of the 15 hour round trip drive to get there! The Grand Lodge in Vegas thrives with some terrific people and one really loud & proud naked Halfling at the helm. I've done hundreds of Cons, but never once taking place in a casino. This was a little weird, but very cool when it came to people (ie:girl) watching outside of our crowd! The staff at the Tropicana were amazing! They treated us like a high-rollers and I never dropped a single coin in a machine! The Neon-staffers were equally awesome and showed tons of passion for what they were doing! I enjoyed playing the latest batch of modules, except for one.

Best of Con:
Meeting and playing sessions with all five western region Venture-Captains!
Meeting/Playing with some of the best players in the Region!
HOT models from Florida walking the game floor after each costume change!
Drinking a (fine) bottle of 12 year old Scotch with Bulmahn, Daigle, Hodge and other industry folks!
The Gazebo.
The smiles on SKR and his bride's faces when they shared the news!

Worst of Con:
Missing CreativeU events due to scheduling snafu.
Having a Migraine take me out of the Special. Apologies to Rene again, I was REALLY looking forward to playing the part of the the Overlord GM for you!

NeonCon has been added to my 'must go' events list.
I will be back!

We had six tables.

Thanks! As far as I know, that's the most that have been run outside of GenCon.

Grand Lodge 5/5

We didn't take too many pics...

By chance and by design!

It was truly one of the most amazing vacations I have ever had and the one of the funnest cons I have ever been to!

Paizo Employee Director of Game Development

Good times had by all this weekend! It was great meeting the folks I met and great seeing all the folks I've hung out with before. This year was better than last and next year will be even better.

I hope to see more folks and even more Pathfinder there next year!

Best Con I've had for PFS. Better than GenCon/CotC/DragonCon/etc.

Had a blast with Monkey, but finally got someone to cast Dispel Magic about 15 times before he succeeded in dispelling the effect. Yay

Liberty's Edge

It was definitely a lot of fun for a player who took a long hiatus. Many thanks to the excellent judges and conscientious players. Thanks, too, to all of the people who organized the event and the venture captains who kept the train on time. It was quite well run! Let's not forget the ability to buy a beer during the interactive - priceless ;)

That was my first time to NeonCon, but definately not my last! I enjoyed meeting the big names in the gaming industry and the Venture-Captains!

Robyn Nixon - Excellent game of Mists of Mwangi! I also had a great time playing The Rebel's Ranson with you! Count me in on future cons in your area!

Sir_Wulf (James) - Thanks for running both Hall of Drunken Heroes (where we could order beer just a few feet away!) and for running Jester's Fraud. You did an awesome job!

Eric Brittain - Super job on The Rebel's Ransom. A brutal adventure that could have run very long, but your prep work saved the day. Thanks!

Rene Alaya - Excellent Coordination! You probably slept for two whole days after it was over.

Also spent a little time with Theocrat Issak and JP Chapleau. I met a bunch of other folks who I see on the boards (Painlord, etc.) and it was great to meet everyone. Good to meet everyone and put a face with a name.

Excellent work and I had a great time!

Dave

Yes, what I should have said was "Six tables are the most that have been run outside of GenCon". We're running it at U-Con in Michigan this weekend and hope to pass that mark.

Thanks for the nice comments. There's a lot of work involved to put on a show. It is worth every missed sleeping minute when after the show players are satisfied.

I'd like to thank each and every GM who made the conventions possible. I can organize, schedule, muster, and keep the slot pace. But if GMs don't run a good scenario the rest doesn't matter. So, once again, I thank every GM who ran from one slot to most of the convention.

I'd like to make a couple particular thanks.

Theocrat Issak, and his crew, who got everything ready for when we arrived.

Dave the Barbarian for providing the tracking sheets.

JP and Chris Sanders for stepping in to help run the special.

Mike, Steve, and Doug (Neoncon organizers) for their support.

See you all at GenCon and PaizoCon.

Neoncon was a blast. Rene did a great job of coordinating things for PFS and all of the judges really gave it their all. The special in particular was epic and it really felt like it gave everyone a place to shine.

Right back atcha Rene. Thanks to Issak, our local VC. And, thanks to Paizo who provided us both lots of awesome schwag and Jason Bulmahn and Sean Reynolds for the the weekend. Thanks to both Jason and Sean for sharing their considerable knowledge with the students at CreativeU.

Congrats to Stephen Radney McFarland who joined the Pathfinder design team this weekend, which gave us the ultimate trifecta by having the entire design team at our show!

Finally, extra-special congrats to Sean and Jodi, who got hitched while at the show. We are now two for two for game designer weddings!

See everyone at PaizoCon 2011, GenCon 2011 and of course, NeonCon 2011!

Oh hecks yes, that was a good time.

I love traveling out and playing in far off locales...I believe that playing outside your group and seeing how the game is played elsewhere is one of the best ways to become a better player.

Things I learnt on this trip:

1) Sir_Wulf is a fabulous judge (beat my face up in Hall of the Drunken Heroes) and an even better author (Jester's Fraud was hot). Well played, Sir_Wulf!
2) Dave the Barbarian, despite the name, is a nice guy and good player. His paladin rocked so much demon-face (even if in a dream state) that I could not do anything but be awed. I've never seen such solo awesomeness in my years of gaming. Heck, 3/5 of the rest of the party was 'weirded' out and he took down the solo almost single-handedly.
3) Chad from Kentucky, aka exile on these forums, plays the game well and with style.
4) Robyn, VC from Los Angeles, rocks. It's clear why you were chosen as VC.
5) It's really cool when you see another traveling buddy randomly at cons around. I've seen Gallard Stormeye at CondorCon and then again at NeonCon and my, my, how he's grown. I heard that he ended up grappling a dragon at NeonCon. I knew him when he was still merely mortal.
6) Jason L, aka ThatGuy, runs a really fun mod. Thanks!
7) Chris Sanders ran me through my first 10-11 subtier mod. Kick my butt up and down every encounter. He showed me how much I have to learn. It was a pleasure to get bruises from you.
8) That father and son teams can be really fun to play with. The Blakely duo at my running of 2-02 Battle Azlant Ridge rocked both with roleplaying and good humor. They were a great meet at the Con.
9) That one playgroup can have an amazing set of roleplayers. I met quite a few of the LA/SD-based Gypsies,Tramps,Thieves(?) and they all rocked. (Peter, Dianna, Don, etc...you guys are blessed.)
10) It's not a fowl to turn a PC into a chicken during the Pathfinder Special, but I was feeling a bit peckish. Tallak, you handled it eggcellently and I admire your pluck. Good cluck on combing the coop for a way to return to normal.
11) Eric B's characters make me laugh like nothing else. It's clear to me that his ability to inspire good cheer is why he's a VC. I love playing with him.
12) Chris Clay is a strong judge. Thanks for both mods on Sunday.
13) Natertot: I gotta strong love for people who fly across the country for a Con. You were a good person to meet.

Rene and Issak: Thanks for making this happen. I hope that we can get you guys up and out to a Bay Area Con sometime.

All sessions are reported. I will wait until the end of the week to change the status to 'completely reported'. Until then I suggest players look at theie sessions reported. There were a few tracking sheets submitted without showing prestige points and some had illegible numbers or names. If you see an error post a request to correct it here. I will compare it to my sheets and make an adjustment. If you are missing a slot you played entirely we'll need to take it offline, if necessary. I may request you scan and email the chronicle.

This is the information I'll need to make a correction:
Scenario Name
Date run
Your PFS#, including the number after the dash
Prestige awarded per the reported session
Short summary of the correction needed

Rene,

Wow that was FAST!!!!! Great job!

It seems that two of the characters I listed for Character credit did not get reported.

I sent details to you via Facebook.

You have more stomach than I if you can read THIS and not have night sweats from the terrors within.

Me, I'm still trying to 'drown' out the memories of that combat.

Monkeys, crocs, and sharks, oh my.

Heh, that was a excellent post Cherry.

Chris did a great job with that mod. The high seas are a very dangerous place apparently.

This is in regard to your question:
"My PC is leading a unit of 1st level fighters (100 of them), against a band of Goblins (200 of them). I can do the entire battle with 3 figures??? 1 - my PC, 1-my 1st level fighters, and 1 the goblin unit?"

What you have overlooked is that you have twice as many goblins as fighters, and you need to use a consistent person-to-figure ratio for all battle participants. Therefore you need twice as many goblin figures as fighter figures, plus your pc of course. That being said, using a 100:1 ratio for this battle seems to be an oversimplification. There's no reason why it couldn't be done, but wouldn't 50:1 or even 20:1 give a more satisfying result and allow for more involved tactics and maneuvers?
