It should be 2FC hp. I'm not sure since i'm at work right now and can't check the herolab file. I'll check when i get home. I've decided to remain in team clanky and just step back when stealth is needed.

No problem I think you just gyped yourself a hp (8 + 5 + 2 + 2) = 17.

DM Dan E wrote:

What's the 5? Shouldn't my cleric lvl hp gain be 4 (half of 1d8 rounded up)?

The average is 4.5 so you round up to 5.

Oh, my bad. I misread your earlier post. I don't know why i exchanged "average hp" with "half hp". Bad genes i guess. Fixed now.

Just realized that even I managed to flub the monastery directions on the most recent map. As stated, up is west. The chapel faces north toward the town and my labelling of the cloisters as north and south should be west and east. Will fix this when I get a moment.

This is a bit out of left field but Arjun's post in the main thread made me remember I was going to make a post about languages as the treatment is a bit inconsistent between some people's sheets.

To clarify your all currently speaking Kellish which you all start with obviously. Common or Taldane (saying Taldane may make things less confusing) requires a language slot unless your a native which none of you are.

Arjun and Sajan get Vudrani for free. Super dumb Sajan has obviously applied this already but if Arjun spent a slot on this he gets another one.

Nuveril gets Badawi for free.

In Katapesh generally virtually everyone can speak Kellish although there are sizeable minorities who speak Vudrani and Osiriani. Many Badawi tribesmen speak Badawi only.

No rush but please adjust your sheets where necessary when you get a moment.

OK this section has taught me a valuable lesson in not underestimating your desire to chase down and finish off a fleeing foe. I will be careful to avoid the perception I am short-changing your efforts at pursuit in future :)

I wouldn't sweat it, it is in our nature (adventurers that is) to want to kill every enemy we fight and if they flee we will scour Golarion to make sure they are brought to justice...lol's

If they escape they escape, but we will chase them...of course that gives you latitude to lay traps for us as we try to catch them!

Sajan is rushing to help, we're all going in together I think- Grall at the front was just for his darkvision at night.

Grall has 10' faster base speed than the rest of us. I think the DM's saying if he slows himself down to accommodate the rest of us, we might not get there in time.

EDIT: Yeah, here it is.

DM Dan E wrote:
With the current means at your disposal I think the only way you could beat my half an hour estimate would be to send Grall ahead to scout with his better movement rate.

Although if there's anything up there, that puts Grall fighting solo for the whole battle. He'd be ~300 ft. ahead of us.

I'm not saying anything about how much time you have just how much it will take :)

Now I'm kicking myself for getting involved at all but Linah was looking for faster ways and that was the only one I could think of.

I'd certainly not recommend Grall entering battle by himself.

It seems that the players guide for Carrion Crown will be available early next week. For planning purposes, how many of you are interested in playing?

Note: While I know that getting in on an AP when it is brand new is super awesome fun, please make sure that you have the time necessary to really participate. Except for personal emergencies, I want to make sure that no one is stretched. :)

I'm certainly interested, but will have to consider if I have the time to fully contribute....Of course if AK TPK's us in the Serpent's Skull game, I may have more time than anticipated ;)

I am interested as well, with a few disclaimers. I would be able to participate on the same level as in this game (i.e. 1-2 and up posts per day, time difference still apply so my posts would be "off prime time") provided i don't pick a character that's hard to play personality wise. i found that the witch i created was abit harder than i thought which has kept down my post count abit in that game.

The second disclaimer is of course if i find something suitable to play. As i haven't read the player's guide yet i don't know if i can create a character for the ap that i am as excited about as my other characters. Hopefully i will but until i read the guide there is no way for me to tell. Hmm, that may have come out somewhat bleak.

Human Psychomancer

Not at all. I have been haunting the player's guide thread in the Carrion Crown forum waiting for it to be released. I'm just gauging interest in playing right now, not necessarily what class or role you would like to play. We can decide that later.

Like Patrik, I'll have to wait for the player's guide and see if there's anything that stokes my interest. I can't come up with a PC on the spot and run with it; I have to really get the character.

As far as time goes, I've been just about at my limit, but one of my other PbP DMs just backed out so I'm down a game at the moment.

Sovereign Court

I think im just about at my limit at the moment until Uni finishes- if you can accept another fairly passive character such as Sajan i'm interested- but to be honest keep me as low priority, I just don't think i'll be able to commit.

I will be running it myself once we're past July- when I should have much more time.

Male English Project Manager 13th

I would be interested...I have a character concept and initial draft of a life Oracle I would really like to try out.

Interested although I'm also keen to look at the player guide. Timing is also a big issue for me. I've got holidays coming up in march which is going to leave me with limited access for about a week and probably none for another.

In terms of planning, I don't think I'm being insulting when I say its seems so far that the group is in its element bashing the crap out of stuff more so than the planning elements. We have several characters who are specifically built not to take initiative (ie Sajan and Grall) one that is completely reactive (Nuveril) and no natural leader (although that maybe as much a function of the game itself and people not wanting to necessarily grab the spotlight from others).

Your "bosses" so far have had a light touch for obvious reasons but it occurs that you may actually want a bit more structure. That would be fine by me of course although its not going to extend much past this first chapter.

Alternatively a natural leader might emerge assuming one person wants to take up the role and everyone else is comfortable with the idea.

Or if people like the way things are going just fine then things could continue as they are. Thats fine too obviously.

Male HP(104/104 or 125*/125*) Gnoll Barbarian 7 - Invulnerable Rager

Someone should just step up and start to assert themself if they are that type of character.
As mentioned Grall will only assert himself when he thinks he needs to in order to save the rest of you dunderheads... :)
Eventually someone does need to direct us a little better though or we migh all end up dead.

With only average Int and Wis, I can't see Nuveril being a great tactical thinker; she's mostly only concerned with killing things. If someone smarter can put her in the way to do that more efficiently, she's all for it, but it's not something she'd come up with on her own.

If we're looking for natural leaders, what about Khalid? He's got the magic sword....

Joana wrote:

I suppose that would make sense to a certain degree. His background has him as more of a "take orders than give orders" type, but with his connection to Vardishal I could see a change.

Pssh! Minor artifacts don't choose to be wielded by guys who just take orders. ;)

The sweaty loincloth of Glagalkelistriani doesn't count my friend...it might be a weapon, but its not an artifact!!!!!!

That's just genetics. It got stuck with you. Don't think it's not waiting for you to have kids! ;)

I'm sure its possible to come up with a suitable love interest for Sajan but I'm drawing a blank at least for now probably a good thing.

OK, after looking at the player's guide for Carrion Crown, I'm definitely interested. I have a couple of concepts in mind.

Hmm. I've had a PC concept I've been mulling for a while who runs a traveling circus; sounds like it would be a good fit. I just don't know what she is mechanically. I tried to stat her up as an inquisitor of Abadar once, but I'm not a huge fan of inquisitor mechanics. Something roguey-bardy maybe? Meh.

I'll read the player's guide when i get home from work. What i had in mind initially is some kind of halfling rogue, human bard/rogue or dwarf wizard.

Human Psychomancer

Dang it! I've been lurking on the downloads page for the last two weeks and Paizo goes and releases it the one night my wife asks me to stay off the computer!

I'll read through it today. Once we decide who is able to participate in the game from the LoF pool, I will open a recruitment thread in the Gamer Connection forum to fill out the rest of the party.

Yeah my life Oracle should be a good fit, just need to tweak the background to fit in with the players giude and pick a trait. There are a couple that fit her.

The guide has me very interested. Seems more urbany than I was expecting.

Have lots of ideas:

- professional monster hunter, ranger or inquisitor

- everyman paladin, a peasant infused with the life energy of a dying paladin

- scholar and doctor specialising in maladies of the mind, diviner

Altenatively I had a neat idea for a dhampir fighter with a katana. Maybe a splash of monk for martial arts. His mother was attacked by a vampire and died giving birth to him.... Bah can't do it.

Human Psychomancer

A dhampir might not work well. Unless you plan on your primary healing to come from the channeling of your enemies, but then you would also be taking a hit from the oracle of life Terok is interested in playing. Does the dhampir race seem as problematic as I am thinking it is?

I was leaning toward either another inquisitor (Pharasma this time) or a witch heading into Harrower, provided I still like the class when it is re-released in the new Inner Sea guide.

Both options are human, but for the witch the concept of the Changeling has me intrigued depending on what it looks like.

Human Psychomancer

I'm excited that they are going to go with a more traditional fey-flavored changeling instead of the doppleganger spawn from Eberron.

I've now read the player's guide and i am indeed interested in playing. Before i read the player's guide i was hopeing for something along the lines of a scaredy pants halfling rogue but i am more and more liking the idea of a "Ichabod Crane from Sleepy hollow":ish (the movie that is since i have not read the book) halfling instead.

I am not sure what class i would create the character that i have in mind. A bard with the detective archtype, rogue with the investigator archtype or a wizard interested in the necrotic arts (not quite the same as the previous two but could fit what i have in mind).

I would probably take either the "Inspired by greatness" (i like the background stuff but i'm not crazy about the bonus) trait or the "Teacher's pet" trait.

To bring the OOC tactics discussions to the OOC thread...

Sajan Krama Sumna wrote:
We really have to stop trying to pull Grall posing as one of them as some kind of ace in the hole, from what we've learnt thats not really a good plan. They may have darkvision in the night, but it is limited and they seem fairly complacent. A night assault is still our best option in my opinion. I'm also ok with prancing around at the bridge and seeing whatheads our way...

I don't think Grall can pose as one of them to get us into the tannery, say, but if someone is watching from the battle market, I would hope that they would just see a gnoll from far away and assume it's one of their own. Whether a single gnoll would be with so many "slaves" is another question, of course, and I'm sure, even from a distance, our group of equipped PCs isn't going to bear much resemblance to a ragged bunch of beat-down slaves.

I'd just like to be sure we don't end up leading the gnolls back to the monastery too early in the game. I'm pretty sure Almah wouldn't like a siege on her doorstep.

Human Psychomancer

Just posting to organize the information...

Patrik Strom - bard with the detective archtype, rogue with the investigator archtype or a wizard interested in the necrotic arts

Talomyr - inquisitor (Pharasma this time) or a witch heading into Harrower

terok - Oracle of Life

DanE - ranger or inquisitor, everyman paladin, diviner

Joana - Something roguey-bardy

Sovereign Court

FWIW, if I found the time to play i'd be an Orc Fighter.

Tanner Nielsen wrote:

Dan E,

Looks like our interests are overlapping a bit, which one is your preference? I would be just as happy with the witch (which may end up being a changeling, depending on what the race is all about) as I would the inquisitor.

Happy for you to call dibs on an inquisitor. The monster hunter concept would work just as well with a ranger perhaps better.

Sorry Tanner my reference to the dhampir fighter was a feeble joke on my part although thinking about how you would get round the healing problem you mentioned made me thing of a dhampir oracle of bones. That would be neat if he could dodge the daily groups of peasants looking for a lynching.

DM Dan E wrote:

If that is role you would prefer, I have no problem with that. The witch concept is one I've been wanting to play for a while, and on top of that I'm already playing an inquisitor, as I'm sure you are aware of ;).

Now I just have to figure out what to do in place of Tun'ada...

OK just wanted to post on my timing for the next few weeks as unfortatunately there will be a bit of a lull in my posting.

On friday night I am flying home to Australia for a week. I'll have blackberry access after I land (and Alex I should be able to continue to play in SS OK) but my map making and references will be curtailed. For a bit more than a week after that I'll be in Thailand and may not have internet access at all. I'll be back in the UK on the 22nd.

Its probably not my first choice so happy if you prefer it to the witch.

And is that a veiled reference to Tun'ada being dead? We are trying to rescue him dammit!

I'll be honest, I don't know much more about his fate than you do.

Human Psychomancer

Ah! You were referencing Vampire Hunter D, perhaps? I just got the joke. We have three weeks or so until the first module is available, and I will need a few days to read it and get the game ready, so we have plenty of time to hash out character creation.

In fact, I will get an OOC thread started this evening. Or close to this evening. :)

Alex, you are always welcome, if you have the time.
