Just trying to set the mood a little. :) But thanks, I of course have my own twists in store, but there is a possibility that they go unseen for now.
There's a good chance another idea I had for this mini-event goes a totally different way.
Looking forward to it, >=) Although its going to be interesting when/if we run into Darius's ship. Mainly hoping we don't get stuck! xD.

"Quartermaster" Kai'itza |

I'll be adding my wishes to THAT!
Though there is a way of escaping doldrums. It's a lot of effort and hard work, though.
But what that ship is mired in seems more than just some calm air....:P
'Master and Commander' was definitely a good movie to watch, to understand the perils of warships at sea and such.

What kind of ship would she happen to be if I may ask?
DM:
Does this particular Cog happen to have a bowsprit on the bow of the ship by chance?

Without looking that up, I dunno what that is. Is it in Stormwrack? If nto, what's it do?

Darius D. Drevard |

The bowsprit is that pole on the bow of the ship that helps stabilize the sailing mast on the either the main mast for smaller ships or forward mast on the more larger ships like galleons.
There isn't a representation of it in the stormwrack book for the the Cog, the Caravel yes, the Cog no but after looking some cogs up to get a feel of the ship I'm on I've learned that some cog's did have a bowsprit and those tended to be longer range ships than the average cog which usually stuck close to shore since it was an open air design with no real decking (multiple levels).
It was originaly used for moving goods up and down the cost like the caravel but that ship would later evolve to make longer sea and ocean going voyages, where the cog couldn't really survive that kind of voyage being far less sturdy.
EDIT:
The bowsprit of a sailing vessel is a pole (or spar) extending forward from the vessel's prow. It provides an anchor point for the forestay(s), allowing the fore-mast to be stepped farther forward on the hull
Bowsprit

By the way I just noticed on my character sheet that I had 1 more language selected than I was allowed for my Int bonus; I'll wait to have Elven removed to show this to be more accurate and in line with the rules after you acknowledge this post and update your records.

Heh, no problem.
I don't see why the Cog can't have a bowsprit, what ya got planned?
:)

Work has been outstandingly busy, man it's almost Thursday now...I'll be back on the ball next week guys sorry for the post shortage.
Don’t worry about it, we all have those kinds of weeks. Trust me I know all too well with the company I work with. I’m just glad the game can continue and I didn’t jinx anything by joining

I’ll make the change and probably take the language when I level up next with some skill points!
Now for the bowsprit;
Yep the plan if I can convince the others, is to use the bowsprit the yard pole, some rope/rigging and maybe some extra planking from the decks forecastle or aft castle to form large oars and start rowing away from these calm waters as we have no wind nor current to use a sail. Now this is provided I get any information from the NPC’s or find out somehow there is something more sinister under the waves than just calm dark water ;)
But first I need to make some checks to check my surroundings for anything else I might be able to use to help the remainder of my crew, hopefully before we start killing each other thanks to little voices in our heads, err my head, let alone hunger!

Raz your Post gauntlet conversation, while possible if you want to imagine it, they are you thoughts after all, is slightly breaking what the item can do if you assume it can talk to you.
It's ability to talk to you in any form doesn't come until your a higher level. (assuming I follow the standard Item Familiar rules.)
For now though please assume it is no longer talking, because it can't.
:) yet.

Gelied "Raz" |

Ah, yes that is understandable :)
However, I am imagining Raz having conversation to himself.
Way of seeing this is: Being wizard and dealing with extraordinary things are always ... little bit dangerous plus he is himself kind of special (forest-gnome) and they tend to be little bit odd. Playing with the chemicals and interest for liquids (reason for alchemy) might also have some effects.
Recent happenings (destruction of world, murders, undeads, attack, storm) have had some affection to his mind and his constant worry about other gnomes are kind of affecting his mind and .. personality.
I see this as like a way to escape to reality, and he is someway responding to himself, assuring he is not alone and "someone" is telling/helping him with these things. Of course, when the familiar actually begin to talk to him, he will be shocked, because he didn´t expect it to really talk to him (way of like seeing it as a object, rather then actual living being and the knowledge from it= like a magic transferred)
Hopefully, this cleared the misunderstood :P And I can assure you, the fun and freaky moments will breakout, when the familiar will actually speak to him. FOr this moment= its just like escaping the hard time and hoping that someone will answer to him (having himself to speak and answer to questions, kind of side personality or extracting out of this world)

I know the feeling ;)

"Quartermaster" Kai'itza |

Yeah I know the feeling I have 160 Hrs of training to get done in several 8-12hr sessions on my 2 weeks off >.<; it all deals with well control classes, rig operations and such. It all started because of what happened down in the Gulf. The only problem I have is that 10-20% of the classes actually pertains to what my job is, the rest is just garbage that doesn't even pertain to my job what-so-ever... It mainly sucks because the Fed's require it or I don't get to work in the oil field anymore lol. Fun Times~
@DM: I was wondering, for my level of cleric in the future, if the only Domains you want me to use should be just from the players hand book or can I look at some in the spell compendium. Didn't know if you changed your mind or wanted to limit books. Just thought i'd ask~.

That book is OK by me if you want to draw domains from there.

I'm not sure it looks like Olek was last active on Oct 7th when he posted in the darkwater pbp. But he hasn't shown any activity since then. =/
Kyre was last active Oct 27th and also hasn't been showing any activity with any part of their account since then.
Up to you boss man we still have Suny, Devannis, Nerine, Darius, Raz(Avion :) ) and Me still playing. It doesn't bother me if you recruit some people at least for Olek i'm not sure about Kyre just yet.
Edit 1: Its getting interesting with a new ship and new NPC's joining the mix. It'll be fun watching how this diplomacy rolls out and especially when the rest of us arrive to kinda back up the Captain, although with Garth there he has all the help he needs =)

Gelied "Raz" |

Been silent for most part, to give space for others. I took really huge chunk of spotlights with Avion and now just little bit busy with everything although keeping eye and thinking how to write for Raz.
Thinking a concept of bringing him up more but so far everything is alright. Olek I could consider to be replaced... but Kyre? No news about her/him though :S

"Quartermaster" Kai'itza |

I'm hoping their both alright as they have both fell off the radar recently =/ Kyre more recently then Olek but nonetheless I worry about everyone equally =). I say we should give Kyre another couple weeks/month, for Olek thats up to the DM =/. As I was saying we still have 5 players active, so its not like the PBP is going to fall apart anytime soon. Those of us who are left are fairly active at least 1+ posts per day or every other day, so I think we're doing alright right now as is. But I hate to see anyone go because I thought we had a fairly decent mix of people/personalities.
As for you Raz continue posting you fool (Just Kidding on 'The fool' part)! Just because your not actively involved in what appears to be the main dialog doesn't mean that you can't be making friends or discovering things on board the ship. Don't hold yourself back, unless the DM asks for you to slow down or something but so far Willpower has been juggling all the different actions just fine in my opinion =).
Besides its interesting knowing we have a mage/tinkerer on-board the ship. I'm pretty sure your going to open the first magic shop once we find land. The only one in all of ..... whatever this world is called! Perhaps we can call it Orbis Terrarum (Latin for: the world, the Earth), Edar (Draconic for: Earth).
Edit 1:In other news I found an awesome Medusa pic: Go to Medusa from Pathfinder Bestiary
It definitely looks more human compared to 3.5's version~

"Quartermaster" Kai'itza |

Then we can go with Madesco Mundus (Latin Madesco: To get wet xD, Mundus: World)
Sorry just one of those days. I'm in 4 (now 3) pbp's and this is the only one that has been active in like..... 3 days for the others >.<;. I'm also cleaning the house so i'm near the keyboard quite a bit lol.
Edit: I'm just kidding with all the world names i'm pretty sure Willpower has said it at some point, i'm just playing around with language translators and dictionary's. It is a lot of fun =).
