I'm getting script errors all over these 2 links regardless of whether I'm logged into my Googlemail account.
All I get to see is the first page and no options or visual indications that there are any other pages :(
I don't have your email, oops, but I am about to do a new upload and a new link. Hopefully that helps both of us. Check back in about 5 minutes.

You may want to check the errata on that one, think it was changed?? The list in the book is wrong.

I thought they had fixed that since James mentioned it in a post. I think I can edit it online finally so if it is the dog I will just plug it back in. I will send you the email after I check the errata.

You're right, here it is:
A: (Official Errata)The majority of these errors, I suspect, came from miscommunication between what was and wasn't changing with these animals in the switchover between the 3.5 Monster Manual and the Pathfinder Bestiary. [Source]
Change Giant Lizard to Monitor Lizard. (The lists don't support summoning a Giant Frilled Lizard, but you could probably add them to summon monster V or summon nature's ally V. )
Change Riding Dog to Dog.
Change Ant, drone to Ant, worker.
Change Ant, soldier to Ant, giant.
A few other notes:The Giant Frilled Lizard is so much tougher than a bison or an ape because it's something that probably would HUNT bisons or apes. It'd be best to compare the giant frilled lizard ecologically wise to a tiger or bear; it's a top-tier predator.
Camels will be in the Bestiary II. If you need stats before then, though, they'll be VERY similar to the stats for a horse, except they'll have some sort of long-term go without water ability.

I have updated the summoning documents.
Summon Nature's Ally Augmented
It's all good stuff!

Have you done any more Mr. Swagley?

Summon Nature's Ally Augmented

Summon Nature's Ally Augmented
That is not good. I guess I uploaded the wrong one.
edit:The version on my pc has all the monsters. I don't know what happened. I will upload it again.
Mr. Swagger |
I did not do the unaugmented version since I have a small list of monsters I use before I get augment summon. Another factor was that there seems to be quiet a few people who needed the augmented versions so I figured I would do us all a favor.
If I get some free time(running two campaigns) I might do them if enough people show interest.

Thank you. I've been undertaking a similar project myself, and it is a huge relief to see that both A> Most of my math was right, and B> Frankly, you've spared me the trouble; I got about as far as halfway into Summon Monster IV before I got bogged down in other tasks. This list is extremely helpful!
A quick, minor critique: The first few monsters in the Summon Monster I list have misplaced words in their Smite syntaxes. You have random "Evil/Good" words lying around in their entries that probably ought to be attached to the Smites. The Dolphin and Dire Rat are the primary examples.
Edit: Also, a possible error in the Hound Archon entry. You list its Greatsword damage as 2d6+4, shouldn't it be 2d6+6 since this is a two-handed, wielded weapon?

Thanks for the files. They really helped me with my Master Summoner character.
(!)In your latest Summon Monster Augmented link, you sill have Dog instead of Riding Dog.
I noticed that it was corrected before, but you seem to have reverted it back to a normal Dog stats.
Can you correct it, please? Thank you.

The dog, while it may not have been errata'd is the correct one. I had to decide to go with the official version or the correct version in order to save time for correcting it again later when they officially change it.

I was puzzled by your reply, so I had a look at other threads on this "errata".
From what I have read, this is what I understand:
The Riding Dog, which have the stats of a typical SM2 monster, should have been a Dog instead, as a Riding Dog as a SM1 monster is too powerful, especially when summoned in mass via a SM2 or above spell.
So that's why you are keeping the dog on the list instead? Cos it should be the "correct" monster?
In any case, thanks again for coming up with this list. It saves me a lot of time and trouble. Even more so for a newer player like me.
Thank you. :)
Mr. Swagger |
The 1 HD dog lists its smite as +2 damage. Error?
This is probably a relic from when it was a 2 HD riding dog.
I am going to go back over the entire thing, hopefully finding errors before everyone else does, and do a copy and paste to google docs so I don't have to put up a new link for every correction.
I am supposed to be able to upload a document and have them convert it, but I am never able to edit it or the formatting gets all messed up. It won't be today though, but you are correct with the smite error.
Mr. Swagger |
Just wondering will you be adding the other elementals, mud, ice, lightning to the list some time in the future?
Maybe including detailed descriptions for their Abilities, like air mastery, or earth mastery?
I think I put the descriptions for earth and air mastery in one of the descriptions, but not all of them to save space. I will check to make sure though.
Adding the elementionals from bestiary 2 is a good idea.Secane |
Given the small size of the fonts, maybe the extra descriptions of the different monsters could be squeezed below the main stats?
For example, move the elementals to individual pages and add the extra ability descriptions below it?
Also the newer elementals from beastiary 2 have a ton of new abilities that give any summoner greater versatility when facing any situation.
Please add them if you can. Thanks.

The folks over at the d20pfsrd have statted out these monsters as well, including placing augmented stats in brackets and stats for the celestial and fiendish versions in colored text in the entry.
If you are planning an update for these documents, I would love to see you include the new elementals from Beastiary 2 as has been mentioned previously.
I would also like you to include the stats for the axiomatic and entropic templates, as those types of creatues can be called now as well.
Google Docs doesn't seem to jive well with my PC. When you get the lists done, please start a new thread to let us know and post your contact information so that people can get the lists directly from you.
Thanks

I don't care for google doc's conversion methods either. Until I did the last upload I did not do a conversion. I see it still is not working well if people are complaining about it. The only reason I use it is because it can be edited online. I normally use mediafire for file storage. The only issue with them is that you can't preview the document like you can with google documents.
edit:I just realized I did not copy the documents from my external hard drive to my laptop. I will have to get those when I get home.
Mr. Swagger |
I finally got home earlier today. I almost forgot about this, but I didn't. I am transferring the file to my laptop now. Hopefully I can have it done by tomorrow, but the official date for the new file is Friday. If any of you find any errors post your findings here.
The original doc is in the open doc format (ODF). I will post that one, and the PDF version. That way if I somehow lose both copies you can update it on your own. I know the ODF saves to PDF without the format changing, but I don't know if the word version will or not, but i will put the .doc online also if it does.
Mr. Swagger |
Sorry about the delay:
From what I understand the request are to
1. add the magma, mud, ice, and lightning elementals
2. add axiomatic and entropic templates-->I will check to see if this is allowed by RAW. If it is not I will have a note in the document so GM's don't get ambushed.
3. Including detailed descriptions for their Abilities, like air mastery, or earth mastery will be done if I can add it without to many formatting changes.
I noticed no other errors have been posted so hopefully this is the last go around until bestiary 3 anyway.
If anyone has a problem downloading it from google docs let me know. Details such as incorrect formatting or google denying you permission also helps. I want to try to recreate it in google docs without losing formatting, but in the mean time I will post it to mediafire.
Everybody cross your fingers, and hope I don't have any interruptions, maybe we can see this one go to mediafire tomorrow, and later on maybe I can get google to play nice.

Yap. That pretty much sums it up. Those changes are going to take you some time.
Only things that could be added are, 1) If possible, please increase the font size?
Tried printing 2x3, 6 per side on a letter-size paper, the wordings are kinda small and hard to read. (Printing it out 1 per page helps, but is a waste of paper.)
Secondly, this is OPTIONAL and had been said before, 2) It would be nice if the Augmented and non-Augmented stats are both available. Augmented stats, attack bonus and damage can be placed in brackets for players to see and use. Like the ones at, http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/s/summon-monster
*If you can make ready a file in MS Word or OpenOffice format, I am sure there are others who wouldn't mind editing it to include the 2 different versions. (*I wouldn't mind if I have the time. :) )
Thats all I guess. Thanks again for putting this together. You make many a summoning player happy. :)

I went ahead and took a shot at making a version of the Summoned monster list 1-9 with augmented stats. Pretty much taken directly from d20pfsrd
I uploaded them to divshare.

Thanks for the files. Like the fact that all the special abilities are written out.

I have added the templates from bestiary 2 that allow you to smite lawful can chaotic creatures. I also added the new elementals for summon nature's ally, and summon monster.
PS:Does bestiary 3 have any new templates or elementals that need to be added?
PS2: I will try to use Big Killa's document later on since his is nicer than mine is.
