In this case, when a player of a dead PC makes the decision on whether or not they want to come back to life when resurrected, they're roleplaying Pharasma's choice for their ownIf somebody is attempting to resurrect a dead character back to life in the setting does the soul of that character have the right to refuse and stay in the afterlife? Is that decision purely one Pharasma makes and outside of that soul's control?
The decision to come back to life is in the hands of the character's "player." For PCs, that means that player. For NPCs, that means the GM.
In all cases, that decision is, in game, essentially Pharasma making the decision.

James Jacobs wrote:Modifiers from ability scores aren't actually bonuses, strictly speaking. If they are, they're untyped bonuses—which means they stack with all other bonuses except themselves. Thus, if you have multiple things that say "Add your Dex modifier to this roll," you only get to add your Dex modifier once.
So, to answer the actual question:
1) Nope; it's not a typed bonus. It stacks with all other modifiers, but can't stack with itself.
2) If you have Fury's Fall and Weapon Finesse, you've basically got two feats with overlapping effects. You don't get to add your Dexterity modifier more than once to CMB if it's already been included due to any other effect. SO! If you have Weapon Finesse... you'll only want to look at taking Fury's Fall if you're expecting to be using weapons you can't modifier via Weapon Finess...
I have a similar question, at least in the view of some. I have a Paladin character who has Divine Grace class feature and the Irrepressible trait from Quests & Campaigns, which states that "You can use your Charisma modifier in place of your Wisdom modifier when attempting Will saving throws against charm and compulsion effects."
I see them as not overlapping in the same way, with Irrepressible substituting one stat (Cha) for another (Wis), and Divine Grace is a (positive only) bonus to all saves based on Cha.
The Divine Grace class feature also says "a paladin gains a bonus equal to her Charisma bonus (if any) on all saving throws", while it could just say "a paladin adds her Charisma modifier to all saving throws". My brain parses that as implying that it is equal to, but not the same as, the Charisma bonus.
You say you have a similar question... but I'm not seeing a question in your post.
I am confused!

Sorry: Does the Divine Grace class feature "stack" or otherwise work with the Irrepressible trait?
I should expand upon this, I think.
Divine Grace gives an untyped bonus on all saving throws.
Irrepressible trait allows you to substitute your Charisma for your Wisdom on Will saving throws.
The spell Paladin spell Bestow Grace from the APG gives a Sacred bonus on all saving throws equal to your Charisma bonus.
Do all three of these stack together, effectively allowing you to double up on the Charisma bonus for Reflex and Fortitdue saves, while tripling up on Will saves?
(I believe there is also an Oracle ability that allows Charisma to substitute for Dexterity on Reflex saves as well)
There is a thread out there (I forget where) that details all the ways a character can substitute Charisma for other stats. Like using Charisma instead of Dex for AC, and using Charisma for knowledge checks and the above for saving throws.
Basically, it's a guide that details how a character can respond to any question with, "I'm fabulous!" with it being a valid answer.

Would you let a player use the clairaudience/clairvoyance spell but instead of hearing or seeing something they'd smell or taste it?
No.
If they want to smell or taste at range, they'd need to research or discover that spell. Which would be different than one specifically named for the ability to see or hear at unusual range.

Q: My Little Pony - Cool, Uncool or Other (and please explain)?
Follow-up: What do you think of Bronies?
Other. Not really my thing, but the fact that it exists doesn't bother me, and the fact that it's inspired a lot of loyal fans is pretty awesome.
As for Bronies, while I don't personally see the appeal of My Little Pony, I think that Bronies are unfairly picked on by other fans of other properties who should take a look in the mirror before they pick on someone for being passionate about anything.

Excited for Dinobots?
Not in the slightest.
The first Transformers movie was a chaotic mess that had a pretty good musical score but it looked like a special effects budget threw up on screen.
The 2nd Transformers movie was one of the worst I've ever seen in a theater.
The 3rd one was marginally better, but only because it mostly got rid of the ugly racism and other juvenileia the 2nd one had, and because it was a LITTLE better to see what's going on.
All three movies were difficult to comprehend due to the overly complex nature of the cluttered special effects combined with the shabby plotting and "paint by explosives" directing.
I'm likely to skip the 4th one entirely unless I hear some really unexpected reviews.

How common do you think cursed items should be? Like maybe a d% number?
Very very uncommon. Cursed items should only appear in adventures when they're there to progress or support specific curse-themed story lines or plot elements. I HATE when GMs put them in there just to trick players... "Ha! That treasure you worked so hard for? It's cursed and gave you mummy rot!" That's lame.
So... how common should they be? In a story about a cursed item, they should always be there. And when the story isn't about them, they should Very Very Very rarely be there.

Prometheus definitely seems to be a movie you either really like or really hate after you watch it.
Actual Questions:
1. Have you or do you intend to see any of Attack on Titan? I am not a huge anime fan but really enjoyed it, and it's probably the creepiest/most horrific take on giants I have ever seen in fiction.
2. I have been reading an anthology of Robert E. Howard horror short fiction. I was wondering if we will ever see some of the monsters statted, or if they serve as inspirations behind any existing creatures
3. On a related note, how would you treat the "Little People" and their degenerate descendents, the Worms of the Earth? I really liked some of the stories featuring them, despite some elements that have not at all aged well.

We knew about it many years ago, long before the general public really knew about it, via feedback from our distributors and game stores and the like. There wasn't any one specific date where we knew for sure that was the case, though, so there's not really an anniversary to celebrate.

1) No plans to see it.
2) Check out Bestiary 3's zuvembie. It's pretty much right out of "Pigeons From Hell," which is not only Howard's best horror story, but also one of the best horror stories ever written. Other monsters in his writing have inspired the game from the dawn of the game. We may do some more, since we've got a pretty good relationship with Howard's estate.
3) Derro!

1.Do the warpriest and bloodrager classes have new names? if so what are they now?
2.Is there going to be more information about the Azlanti in any of the products you have coming out or in development? Has the idea of a book about ancient Azlanti been discussed or being produced yet?(it has been stated that such a topic would have to be discussed in its own book.)

It does, on the other hand, point out just how vastly important the writing is. Something that Hollywood and a lot of other industries seem eager to forget.
I think you're putting a bit too much blame on the industry. As the movies get more and more big budget, that's bigger and bigger piles of money riding on a bet, so they're less willing to takes risks.
And quite frankly to be truly honest, the cinematic graveyard is littered with movies that had great story and characters that died at the box office because the fans wanted more...
1.sex or fanservice
2.explosions. or big guns. (in all senses of the word)
Movies like "Moon" don't develop much of a fan presence. Heck... "Critically Acclaimed, Died at the Box Office" is a trope in and of itself. The movie going public is largely responsible for the state that movies are in. Occasionally you'll see a big budget movie that breaks the trend, but only from big pocket people like Steven Spielberg, who can afford to have a movie or three tank at the box office.

Hey, James Jacobs. We just picked up Ultimate Campaign and something sort of... doesn't make sense.
There's a random event that causes a tax man to show up at your place, but absalom is listed as not having a property tax...
Ever watch the "Popeye" movie? There's more than one kind of tax.

When the Grenadier's Alchemical Weapon class feature says:
"The alchemical item takes full effect on the next creature struck by the weapon, but does not splash, spread, or otherwise affect additional targets."
Does "Full Effect" mean that the Alchemical item still applies the damage bonus from Throw Anything, despite the feature itself removing splash damage?

1) Nope. Same names, as far as I know.
2) Azlant is intentionally a place of mystery. We're scratching the "ancient world" itch with Thassilon, for the most part. There's some more info about Azlant though in the Emerald Spire adventure.

That book is world neutral. Some of the events, therefore, might need adjustments when you use them in a game setting. You've found one such example. If you roll up a tax man event and you're in a city where there's no property taxes, change it to a different type of tax or, even easier, just re-roll.

Full effect means "full effect of the item plus weapon." Since it's no longer a splash weapon, the bonus from Throw Anything goes away.

Frankly, these days? Movie audiences are SUCH a problem that I don't go see movies in theaters anymore unless its a super-expensive 21-and-over theater that actually enforces the experience with ushers and the like. That's an entirely different rant though.

How do you think a follower of Szuriel would be received in WotR?
With distrust at best. With persecution, imprisonment, and exile or execution at worst. This isn't a great choice of an AP for an evil character, or a character who worships an evil deity. You should try out Skull & Shackles with a character like this.

Not that much a fan of pirates, would rather be playing in the demon war AP.
Slightly related, what are your thoughts on characters who are evil to do good?

So it was the kind of thing that gradually creeps up on you, I take it. Makes sense.
Do you think it would be cool to pick a day and celebrate it? If not for that, then something else, like the release date of the Core Rulebook for example? Do you think there's any point to have an annual special day when you can have cake at the office and people around the world come up with their own ways to celebrate? Like Bioware has instituted the N7 day based on their Mass Effect franchise, and since they keep doing it I assume it has some sort of PR value. Or do you think PaizoCon pretty much scratches that itch? PC is kind of local though and is harder for distant people to feel a part of. Any thoughts?

- how would you stat Ravel, generally?

Is Iomedae her full name or the name she took upon ascending? If she has more to her name is Iomedae her personal name or her family name?
I've never actually thought about it before, but I'm kind of curious about that too. Cayden just used his name when he ascended, I've always assumed Norgorber is just an alias anyway, but was Iomedae a title or a name or what?

Hey James, hope you're well! Questions:
1) Who is your favorite character in Watchmen? I'm partial to Rorschach and Dr. Manhattan myself (which made the ending rather tragic).
2) I am almost caught up with the A Song of Ice and Fire books (I'm about 20 chapters away between the two last books, I'm reading them together) and I'm dreading it. Besides the show, is there any media you would suggest to scratch the itch I have for darker fantasy before the next book is released?
Thank you for your continued dedication to this thread :)

Well... then do your GM a favor and build a character that fits well into the Wrath of the Righteous AP. Don't build a character that's going to have more problems with the other PCs and the supposed allies than they will with the enemies. Don't build a character who worships an evil deity or demigod. Save that idea for another campaign.
As for characters who are evil to do good? If they do good enough, they'll stop being evil. Simple.

Personally? I'd rather celebrate the anniversary of the first Pathfinder AP volume, or the anniversary of the Core Rulebook. And we DO have an annual special day where we celebrate and have a party—it's the early summer, when we have a company party to celebrate the founding of Paizo itself. Whether or not making that more public or not is a good or bad PR move is not for me to say... although I do think that PaizoCon scratches that itch, and as much as I love love love our fans and customers... sometimes I want to celebrate in a more private setting than something like PaizoCon.
Celebrating "the day we made more money than D&D" seems a little petty and edition-warry to me, I guess.

Spoiler:- what would you make The Nameless One? Standard human with some crazy regen? What about how he gains a ton of stat points?
- how would you stat Ravel, generally?- Same with Transcendent One.
I believe all of those characters have already been stated up for 3.5 D&D back in Dragon Magazine at some point. In Pathfinder, though...
Ravel would be a mythic night hag. Likely with lots of arcane spell caster levels.
I don't recall off the top of my head who or what the Transcendent One was... but if it is who I think... unique outsider.
